Is that interesting in a good way, or interesting to the point of being hideous

We agree with your wife - no practical use so must be art! Interesting to see different use of all the tools. 😀

This reminds me of artifacts from the Inca civilization. Well done Steve 👌

Not sure that i like it that much, sometimes you get a knarley old bit of wood and it turns out really nice not sure about this

My first thought on seeing that piece of wood was to run and hide in a dark place. The finished result looks like a beautiful vase that an archeologist has dug up and cleaned after two thousand years in the desert sand. Everything deserves a chance before being consigned to the firewood bin.

Thanks Myk, I sort of like it for being unique but that unfortunately is about the only thing it has going for it, but thank you for being polite

I just love a challenging piece of wood like that. You did a very nice job Steve. Your video was very enjoyable. Thank you for sharing

Thanks Albert glad you liked it. It was fun to turn but im not to sure about the finished article.
It is fun to pick out really odd and quirky pieces of wood and see what you can do with them and unfortunately not all of them turn out to be a silk purse, but as i say really good fun to turn

    Nice piece of wood!
I love hazel - usually for sticks though
You made it look like it’s got good layers of character in it, well patinated and painted!
That would sell for a fortune in London!

Many thanks, Im not sure if i like it or not, although it is still sat by the side of my fireplace rather that being relegated to the spare bedroom soi guess i must like it a bit !!!

If YOU like it, it is YOUR art!
Intriguing piece. The shape certainly lent itself to this kind of piece rather than a regular, symmetrical shape, and I think it turned out well.

Thank you Susan, im not sure if i like it or not some times an ugly piece of wood can turn out better than a nice piece, i have had a few ideas on how to change this and if it works out OK you will see this in the new year

What an amazing looking piece Steve, it has the look of an ancient artifact! Absolutely love it. When you said I've got dye on my mop, I thought try sanding it off . . . . then you did 😁
