I don't know why but this stuck with me more than anything , it's pure wine . I don't find myself playing it for people in car and I don't think they can feel it. It's beyond taste. This is such a personal song. I just play it whenever I am low and find myself relieved. So pure and transcendental.

Imagine the feeling that Maulvi shb has passed away and this is like meeting him for one more time. What a fantastic soul. The whole time I wept that he is no more with us. Khuda taala oonchay se ooncha muqaam ata karey.
It is so ironic that whenever Maulvi shb sang 'Hum jo marain gay to royo na koi' that I wept the most.

During his (Molvi Haider) life, he remained underrated.i personally attended many of his live performances. He was wonderful person and very humble human being.
But unfortunately he was not given proper rating by public.now people are realizing we lost our sufi qawwali singer which is big loss
All Muslims can connect to Kabir, Bhudda, Krishna (gods of Indus Valley), and Hindus respecting Hussain and Ali shows that this land has no religion.
In my old age I am endlessly fascinated by young children, the one sitting next to Molvi Sahib is so charming, hope he one day carries the traditions of his family.

This performance is astounding. The concept of death and the way Maulvi Saab is singing from a place of understanding and resonating with his own reality of what was to come. The struggle of performing, yet fabricating the most stunning notes. Wah wah. What poetry this piece of qawalli was, truly, I was blown away by each line. Mashallah

What a brilliant performance- especially in the last line when he repeats “ham jo marenge “ it’s impossible to not relate it to maulvi sb and his own life stage. Even as he struggles through the delivery of this, it’s still so good!!!

Another qn to Musab bhai is how he got to the translations given that the lingo is not commonly used..
Normally we reach out to the performers to request a recording. However in this case we had already recorded Maulvi saheb in Dec 2015. He enjoyed the resulting videos from that so much that he reached out to us and told us to come to Faisalabad again to record a few tracks he wished to document for posterity. We were of course delighted since he was special and scheduled this session for Dec 2017. This recording was done at the home of one of his admirers.
As far as Musab is concerned we're all proud of the work he puts into his translations :-D . He takes them seriously and whenever in difficulty he researches the material before concluding.

Regarding this Vehrawale family and the original group that was led by Ahmad Hassan (was that his father Anwar Hassan who used to be in the group too?), there are many questions. Why did Ahmad Hassan stop singing in the late 80s? That was such a loss. The joy on his face and voice and the passion and energy while singing was magnetic. It would be lovely if you could share with us the family tree and relationships of all these people, including the other families, and the Walid-Shagird relationships. Such as how the Murkeyanwale family is all related and how they have an association with Nusrat.
