I think classical music allows true creativity because there is no “model answer”. A friend once asked me why I liked instrumental music. I told her because I didn’t like lyrics telling me what to think. When you are listening to an instrumental piece, you can think of what you are going through right now or try and imagine what the composer was thinking or how people lived at the time. Even if I listen to the same recording of the same piece during different times of my life I can feel very different. Lyriced songs just don’t do the same thing for me. I guess what I am trying to say is no one hears the same piece.

Did the video just predicted that Brett would play Tchaik and Eddy will play Sibelius on live stream? Honestly those two pieces suits them perfectly. I can't explain how much in awe I am for them playing those pieces. Kinda sad though because the mic for Brett's 2mil drop wasn't that good. I always come back to this video, just to listen Brett's warm Tchaik and Eddy's ice cold Sibelius. Really wish this video gets more views, especially from new twosetters. Lotso love

Couldn't agree more ... I do not need much practice to play pop music. But to play classical piece I need so much practice. Three minutes of pop song? Easy. Eight minutes or more for a solo piece? Can't keep a good intonation, if I don't practice a lot. And I feel so tired after an hour or more classical music (I can't practice more than 30 to 60 minutes a day because of my neighbours).

There were some really magnificent moments in this vid - this is what years of dedication can do.
Like, I've played many instruments - usually filling in where I was needed because I have a knack for being able to play a new instrument quite quickly - well enough for playing in the band. But truly, very rarely have I ever gotten to the point where I was playing music. I played notes. The few times where I actually heard myself they way I listen to music were surprising and emotional experiences. I think every musician who has gotten through that barrier between notes and music, even a precious few times like myself, understands this distinction very well.
