Thanks for taking up the challenge, mate (and for carrying my bags around London, haha). These are brilliant picks. Glad to hear you like the poster, especially from a fancy dude like yourself.
For me: Glencadam 10, Bunnahabhain 12, Port Charlotte 10, Nikka from the Barrel (I’d argue it fits the category), Kilkerran 12 I think I’m going to have to sort myself out with a bottle of the Laphroaig 10 Sherry Oak. And something from the Glasgow distillery. And some Cotswolds…that’s how it goes isn’t it?
@ cheers! The Glencadam 10 is as good as that Kiwi fellow says it is. Just about wins over Arran 10 and Deanston 12 (also of course excellent) in this category for me.
I'm a bit confused. You wanted to send this thing global but you seem to have forgotten to challenge a certain WhiskyTuber based in Tokyo... Great video, and some top picks. Glad to see Hibiki Japanese Harmony in there. Was that in lieu of me? 🤓🥃
A very impressive incredibly wide range of whisky selections here. Well done for not choosing Springbank for one of your funky options. You also peeked my interest regarding some of those English distilleries you mentioned. I've been to Cotswolds a couple of times but will have to check out the others you mentioned. Since the end of the Jim Mcewan era, I've kind of gone off Bruichladdich. I don't like the constant use of STR Wine Casks vatted into a lot of their bottlings which used to be all Ex-Bourbon matured, as well as them going on about transparency yet releasing more and more NASs.
Cheers Reb, I feel that Springbank is the linchpin of the funky notes so glad to have been able to sidestep it... just. While I do love Ex-Bourbon matured I am a sucker for STR casks!
I dont understand how Classic Laddie and Funk go together. Have had the bottle for about 6 months now and tried it with an without water and it tastes very mild and almost bland and light: white wine, vanilla, apple skin, straw. Not very funky at all. I havent tried many funky whiskies this year. My pick would probs be loch lomond 12. Underrated whisky imo. Guys at one of my whisky nights tried it side by side with the Arran 10 to gauge what we enjoyed more as a sipper and most of us said LL12. The LL18 is definitely on my to buy list for down the line. This is a tricky challenge. Going through all the whisky i tried this year i struggled to pick out many that were floral, heavy funk, or wood and grain (the ones that i have that are woody aren't grainy, and vice versa) etc. great vid though bud. V fun to watch and see your picks
I wonder if it is a batch variation thing as I previously never found a lactic/funky thing going on with it but with my latest bottle it certainly has a funky, slight cheesey thing. Loch Lomond is not something I have really explored in depth, will try correct that now! Cheers.
Right that's it! I am having words with Phil as he lied! You are not wrong, should I do a follow up with one Whisky for every flavour note? I'm keen! Cheers.
I will be honest, I am not sure! That one it was found via GIPHY on search results for benevolent as I couldn't find the original clip I was after. Good luck on the search! Cheers.
What would be your choices for this Whisky Challenge?
Thanks for taking up the challenge, mate (and for carrying my bags around London, haha). These are brilliant picks.
Glad to hear you like the poster, especially from a fancy dude like yourself.
My pleasure to both of them pal! Poster is awesome and like me it is a great Whisky Tool
Interesting challenge Mr. Slapper....
...and Interesting choices (read: not my choices)
Slàinte mhath, the trouble maker 😎
It was a challenge to ensure I was pointing to you at that point, if the name fits ;) Cheers Peathead, love to hear your choices.
That damn kiwi and his marketing. It is in my Etsy basket now. Thanks Geoff ;)
It is an awesome poster, since editing this I have had one arrive! Cheers.
I have to say, I appreciated that Toejam and Earl reference
And the rest of the video as well.
Another person of culture! I did debate having the Toejam and Earl music throughout but didn't want Saga coming after me! Cheers for watching!!
Interesting list. Most of them I never seen.
Cheers Koby, hopefully there are some available to you and able to try some!
4:48 Well well well, how the Turntables...
I think I should become top DJ!
Great choices Jeff, we want more with you and Phil!
Cheers, I tried to not overthink my choices but it was still hard going. Sure I can wrangle Phil again soon!
The little hands are back! 🤣 Interesting picks Jeff! I'm loving the Cotswolds Reserve. Cheers!
The little hands will never leave! 🤣Cheers to the brilliant Cotswolds Reserve!
Excellent picks! That doll hand 😂 Cheers, Jeff!
Thanks buddy but what do you mean that doll hand? 😂
@ You know, the close ups of the bottle. You are clearly using… oh.. well this is awkward 😬 😂Cheers, Jeff!
For me: Glencadam 10, Bunnahabhain 12, Port Charlotte 10, Nikka from the Barrel (I’d argue it fits the category), Kilkerran 12

That is a strong list! I really need to pull my finger out and really try Glencadam 10 as I got no notes on it and really should be my jam! Cheers.
@ cheers! The Glencadam 10 is as good as that Kiwi fellow says it is. Just about wins over Arran 10 and Deanston 12 (also of course excellent) in this category for me.
Nice selection Jeff . This particular Wire Works one is stoning. Looks like we have same love for stout cask whisky’s .
Cheers Mate
Cheers buddy, yeah the Wire Works is a banger! Cheers to great stout casks!
Thanks for the tag my friend! *gets camera set up*
Setting your camera up for you choices right? Not some intense bottle slapping again I hope...
@@JeffWhisky That's for me to know and you to find out! 😄

Sure it will work it's way round to you Mac I am sure you can jump in anyway and look forward to hearing your take. Cheers.
Have you had Cotswolds Founders Choice? That is cereal x 100
I have indeed with a bottle running very low! Love the Cotswolds Cereal note, if only we could buy it by the box! cheers.
Before seeing yours my five would be - Glencadam, Glenfarclas, Ardbeg, Woodford Reserve, Benromach
That is a strong list of distilleries, there are a few similarities between our picks! cheers for getting involved.
@@JeffWhisky Ardbeg for the win!
@@meuo922 The Cult is strong!
Great picks!

Great idea 🎉
Cheers!
Glad you managed to get that Wire Works Necesary Evil. Thought it would be your jam!
You were not wrong buddy! At first, It took a while to really settle with me but now, that wildness has me reaching for more! Cheers.
We need more little hands. Bravo for not going Springbank! Cheers!
Haha the little hands will be back I'm sure! Cheers
Loved the picks Jeff! … although you’ve added some more whiskies onto my ever growing list 🥲 L10 Sherry oak is a banger when on that cheeky £45 offer
Cheers for challenging me mate, was great fun! If I see at £45 again, I am sure I will return to my basket again. Slap on buddy!

ToeJam and earl!!!!
Another man of class! What a game and soundtrack!

A RUclips classic! Cheers
Yo
Hot take: the graphic alone already proves you need more than 5 due to the subcategories.

Yes! @@JeffWhisky
Or a cross over one. Whiskies that are peaty and rich. Whiskies that are funky and fruity.
Whats the movie where he says "it's most benevolent of you"
