20.10.2021 - VN24 - Feed Silo Truck Dumped in Ditch

VN24 - 20.10.2021 - Warendorf / Germany - In the small farming community of Neuwarendorf on 19.10.2021 at around 19:30, a semitrailer truck weighing several tons and loaded with animal feed had strayed onto the unpaved verge on a narrow road leading to a farm and had flipped onto its side virtually as if in slow motion. The driver was apparently uninjured, but was taken to hospital for a checkup. It took almost a day to prepare the set-up areas for the two mobile cranes that had been requested for the recovery operation. After the two mobile cranes were brought into position the following day (20.10.), everything went quite quickly. With good coordination and combined forces, the tractor-trailer was put back on its wheels. A salvage contractor arrived on the scene with a tow truck, workshop truck and replacement tractor and towed the crashed silo truck to a workshop.
