  • Caught this Florida Gulf & Atlantic train just as it was departing Lee, Florida. I got a wave from the engineer! This was my first catch of a Florida Gulf & Atlantic RR train, too! Lead engine - FGAR 105 - EMD SD70M-2. Second Engine - HLCX 4216 - EMD GP40-2. Third Engine - FGA 6300 - EMD SD40-2.

@@jeffroonthego5584 interesting! I wonder why they were running on a Saturday..? 😅 Usually they are always on Monday-Friday. What time exactly did this train depart? Was it heading back into Tallahassee going west? Also do you know what time the eastbound from Tallahassee arrived at Lee Florida was? Thanks!

This was a little before 6pm and it was heading west. We we driving by from Madison to Lake City and we saw it next to the tracks and my dad asked me if I wanted to stop and take some pictures. It happened to be right when they were about to leave! Not sure about the other train. I'm not really familiar with this railroad. I got this one by accident! It looked like they were doing some work on the rails a little to the east of this location.

@@jeffroonthego5584 Thanks for all the valuable information. You got extremely lucky because for the past month they were running through there at like 10-11 PM or even later. Maybe the switched back which would be great!! I’m so happy that you said that was a westbound because that would be the usual schedule they used to use before they made a weird switch to nighttime schedule. That would be awesome if they are back in the day now!
