I don't understand to this day, why this game got so many bad reviews and why was it a financial fail... I always thought about it, as a really nicely done and entertaining game.
For me it's the best wolfenstein.
It's a 6/10. Nothing remarkable. And then there's shit like... the second part of a four stage boss fight being almost 2:30 mins long.

Best WOlfenstein ever! LOved the free roam and all the side missions. SHould have been longer though and had more boss battles
I still don't get why this game got so much hate, this game and Return to Castle Wolfenstein are the best in the series.

Really, one of the most under-rated FPS for the PS3, 360, and PC. The single player alone is freaking awesome! Frustrating at times, but really, Awesome!

This is the same boss. Hans Grosse is probably one of the most memorable bosses in Wolfenstein history that Raven decided to "revive" him for this game.
The German man in the armor is Hans Grosse, a German engineer who is Daethshead's bodyguard and the murderer or Caroline Becker. He is selected to wear the Soldat armor as seen in Return to Castle Wolfenstein to battle B.J., but loses.
As a long-time Wolfenstein 3D fan, turning the series into completely ridiculous science fiction, making BJ look like a drunk, and making the Nazis speak English were all slaps in the face, but the constant reminders to "Press [R] to Reload" were more like a kick in the nuts. Oh, how I wish it could have been the 90s forever.
There is one good thing, though… This game takes place in 1943, BEFORE Wolfenstein 3D. Which means Hans survives. Many times.
I was pulling my hair out over that final battle. I was trying to hit him with the Leichanfaust, tried this 5 times without success. I watched your video for a few tips and switched to the MP44 as a result. I defeated him on the first try. Funny thing is, the MP44 was my most used weapon throughout this campaign. Oh well, thanks for the post, you saved me from more deaths :-).
This ending was really funny to me. You're fighting to foil the Nazi plan. You work hard to stop their evil plot. Deep down you may even actually want to save Isenstat and the good people that live there.
At the end of the story you stopped the Nazis, you saved the world, but the village you saved from the black sun weapon gets destroyed anyway because the zeppelin crashes into it.
That's funny as hell!
Dude the village isn't destroyed, the castle is. Even the final journal entry says village is saved.
This just throws me back to the old good days
Multiplayers utterly diabolical.
For a Wolfenstein game thats unforgivable.
I remember Blaskowitz showing his face at the bottom of the screen, showing his bloody face everytime he nears death, and the 99 max ammo, with old blue chain gun, or the silver one from MAC version....RTCW was the best!
I hope they still have the powers in Wolfenstein the new order, because 2009 wolfenstein is probably one of my favorite games.

I recommend using the Tesla at him while using Mire. After that, you can open up on him with all the automatic weapons you have after Mire is disabled. Then use the remaing weapons to take him down in the final round.
Some argue that it was really just the castle the zeppelin crashed into. Still if it hit Isenstadt that would he really funny in a sick twisted way.

It's Himmler, because i've played the old wolfenstein, and in the game you have to destroy 'Heinrich I' , in this game you can hear the skeleton (Himmler) say ' Do not dissappoint me again'. That's one good reason to suspect it's Himmler^^
You were right about the spelling; it is Isenstadt. I suppose the game developers purposely decided to spell it that way so the Americans can pronounce it correctly as they read it ;)
Use your Mire ability to slow him down, and btw, that slows down his bullets too...

All the paranormal science combined with industrial technology at Hans Grosse's disposal and you defeat him with a plain sniper rifle. Heh.

-See the enemies weak spots etc.
on normal/hard you have to shoot the bridge at 6:40 with a rocket to collapse it, otherwise you die to his patch of rocket explosions.

Agree with qqiiipp! Make games challenging by a brilliant AI, and not by giving a pistol to a simple soldier, what has 2x more firepower than your bazooka! I prefer easy!

@w0mblemania you can only 'presume' based on the circumstances, that he is deserving of what he got. One could argue going over there with an appetite/curiosity for combat = you put yourself into a dangerous situation and come what may. What happened goes against our legal systems. I like to know we get a fair trial, otherwise there will occasionally be some innocents with their life stripped away. I think I understand your presumption of him, and that's fine. It's off the point of my posts

Wolfenstein New Order - the best game of the series, Machine Games joined bloody shooter and drama. The game makes it a delight to explore the world and succeeded so games like Bioshock, System Shock, Deus Ex and Fallout.
True. I'm Austrian, I and I know the German accent. I am actually playing the game right now, so I will be able to determine the actual spelling.
It's kind of strange to say that it's unfair just because it's hard. I think it's generally more fun to win games if the game puts up more of a challenge. Of course, games that actually are cheap aren't fun, but games that are well-balanced and hard are the best.

if this didnt call itself a wolfenstein game it wouldnt be too bad, acceptable but because i loved return to castle wolfenstein so much, it was my first online fps and i am still waiting for a better and more fun game to play online this new wolfenstein just disappointed me too much

Im that kind of person. Actually, even my father (yes, my father) is like that. Whenever we start a new game (no matter what genre it is), we just choose its hardest difficulty. And we both work, study, etc, so we dont "sacrifice all that time for the game" as you said...

Who else likes Hans and his trash talking? He's truly one of the harder bosses I've ever faced in Wolfenstein. Only General Brandt was harder.
Do you mean for the MP43? There is an upgrade you can purchase which increases your ammo capacity for it.

It started with 2D. AFAIK the order is Wolfenstein 3D, Wolfenstein 3D Spear of Destiny, Return to Castle Wolfensein, some addons for RtCW like Operation Iron Cross (you play as a Nazi soldier), Wolfenstein (thing that you watched) and an upcoming game Wolfenstein the New Order. For me best game of this cult shooter was RtCW. I was hoping that they will go on with same cult classic but they messed up alot.

This late in the game it's hard to tell if cheats are enabled anyway. The only obvious one would be the pumpkin head cheat.

yes the wolfenstein 2009 was fun in multiplayer i played more than a call of pigeon shoots but not better than the return to the castle true unfortunately will be hard to see a good fps like wolfenstein return to the castle with good atmosphere and when i see the shit fear 3 after the good first me i wait no one live forever 3 and blood 3 but they will never come

If you are German / Austrian then that is not how you would pronounce it: it would come out as "Eeesenstadt", which does not match what they say in the game. A quick Google search also confirmed that it IS called Eisenstadt.
