This is a nice pack. Sounds in the original pack were borrowed it seems but I wonder if anyone would have known had they not given credit to the author? The interim sounds were poor in comparison. These are much better. I would assume that the only pack they will revamp is the previous 616.
Diesel Workshop has been releasing the best product for the last 6 months. All of their locomotives are fantastic. Repaints can be done without too much trouble. they used a sound that was widely available and frankly not that great anyway.
I hate to be really picky. Baldwins had pneumatic controls, not electro-pneumatic. I believe that throttle didn't have notches, it slid. Also, they didn't have transition, that's why they didn't do to much main line time. SP started to go gray and red in 1959 just to save money. Other than that, I get a kick out of these videos.
For anyone curious here is the source for the new engine audio I'm not here to witch hunt them but it's good to bear in mind ruclips.net/video/QYHwZ5H9D-Y/видео.html
I am on the fence with this one. With DTG you buy normally "its not terrible " models with bad sounds where the community relies on someone like yourself to fix them. You do an incredible job by the way. Or you release above average models at a lower price with sounds freely available on the internet. In many countries, anything available on the internet is public domain which can be freely used by anyone.
@@Horsa-sr8oz thanks for the kind words I agree that copyright law differs between countries. In fact multiple DTM and travelbytrain DLCs have sounds from RUclips so it's not unique to diesel workshop.
Diesel workshop is so first quality all the way. As far as the sound is concerned I find the posturing by the "pirate Karens" to be little more than a distraction. To the free ware sound guys who can never seem to work out an arrangement with quality developers such as this one I say your motives are suspect. And to the rest of the "concerned" please cut it out and ask yourselves why can't the sound " heroes" make their stuff available for commercial use. Think about it.
Why should sound modders make their FREEWARE sounds available for commercial use? Perhaps you should think about that first. Also, why don't you do me a favor and ask companies like ESU if they agree with your assessment that it's nothing more than "a little distraction", you know - companies who rely on profits with these sounds and specifically prohibit using them for commercial products unless there's an agreement made first? And by the way - hard to work out an agreement IF YOU'VE NEVER BEEN CONTACTED IN THE FIRST PLACE. Oh please!
"why can't the sound " heroes" make their stuff available for commercial use" uhh.. because we don't want others profiting off our work? in fact what if we put it in the reverse perspective for a minute. By that logic we should be complaining to diesel workshop that they won't allow us to redistribute their payware
@@LP_LP_LP_LP So the sound hero won't negotiate a mutually agreeable arrangement with anyone? Why is that? Can't be bothered to work with a developer bur can spend time spamming youtube with "concerns" instead. Is that a good look for a sound guy?
Actually quite the opposite. Had they reached out to us we likely would have been able to reach an agreement, but instead they breach our trust by nicking our audio files. It's not that *we* can't be bothered, it's that *they* can't be bothered.
@@LP_LP_LP_LP It would be incumbent upon the sound guy to add "not for commercial use" on the Readme don't you think? Looks like squatting to me. Why just last month the sound guy had a mod out in 4 hours after DTM released their F7. That was soooo fast. Until sound guy can certify their sounds aren't ripped from who knows where...I can't be comfortable downloading thier "work" See how this little game is played now? If the sound guy was genuinely interested in recognition and possible renumeration sound guy would reach out to the developer. Oddly they dont....yeah oddly.

We would definitely have known. Bell sound was a dead giveaway
they've done a great job so far, I think. Especially when compared to DTG and DTM, where one spends 20 bucks for half-assed stuff.
