  • Did I buy the wrong Ford Fiesta ST? Should I have bought a MK8 Fiesta ST instead of my MK7? Today we will find out as me and Sammy compare my MK7 Fiesta ST and her MK8 Fiesta ST to see which one we prefer, and would we change our minds? Find out as we review the MK7 and MK8 Fiesta ST!
    We look at the Fiesta ST options of performance, styling, the in car technology, and we take the cars out for a drive both driving our own cars, and also each others cars to see what we think. We get a look at the Fiesta ST acceleration, the handling, launch control, and get a listen to the Fiesta ST exhaust sound as well, taking into consideration that my Fiesta ST MK7 has a stage 1 map on it, and Sammy's Fiesta MK8 ST has an aftermarket Milltek exhaust, and some other amazing additions which make it a great little car.
    This video will hopefully help anyone out with making a decision for which Fiesta they wish to buy, the benefits of both, and ultimately, in the end, we find out if I made the wrong decision in buying the MK7 ST.
    Enjoy the video folks!

    I've had multiple Mk6's from 150-200bhp, I've had a Mk7.5 at 215bhp and now a Mk8.5 at 235bph and I can honestly say they're all different experiences and are all very' very fun in their own rights - you can't really go wrong with any of them.
    From my experience and my personal preference, I think the Mk7.5 is the best drivers car, the 4 pot just drives nicer and it can be tuned to well over 300bhp on stock engine internals.

    the mk8 suffers from wheel hop, thats the banging you hear when using the launch control. one of the best mods is an uprated roll restrictor, mountune do one, stops the wheel hop. i have owned my mk8 st for 4 years bought it new. running stage 1 map 250bhp really transforms the car. milltek exhaust on mine, short shifter , mountune carbon air intake etc etc. kind of wish id got a performance edition as the coilovers are made by kw and are basically the variant 3 they sell and cost over £2k.

      Oh wow that's really good to know. I'll see if Sammy has read this. Do you get the nornal wheel spin like Sammy said she does, and if so does the roll restriction help with this? That's awesome, they're so tunable and I said to Sammy her mk8 would do well with a stage one as it's a 25% power increase. Which stage 1 do you have? Oh and yes, that milltek exhaust does sound good! 🙌

    • @karllelliott681
      @karllelliott681 7 месяцев назад +1

      @@dominichills Hi, I've currently got a molten orange MK7.5 and a MK8 Edition. Adding a MT roll restrictor to the MK8 does introduce more vibration through the chassis (there's always a price to pay) but is virtually unnoticeable in the MK7.5 also with a MT RR. Maybe this addition amplifies the 3-pots inherent unbalanced nature a bit more? The KW V3's are brilliant and allow the MK8 to ride so much better than the MK7.5 (which is on MT lowering springs and standard shocks). I actually prefer the raw feel of the MK7.5, though also love the better ride quality and interior of the MK8. Short shifters are brilliant upgrades for both cars as are the air filters and air/coolant hoses, brake discs, pads and braided brake hoses IMHO. I would summarise that there is not much to choose between either models as there are plusses and minuses to owning and using both.

      Honestly I'm not sure, I think it might be the map but it isn't a pop and bang map as you can get those seperate

      @@dominichills cool, tbh I'm not a massive fan of pop and bang maps i prefer more natural pops i heard them maps can mess up your engine and they get annoying fun at 1st plus im a massive sucker for looking after my cars before i drive i always sit there for 2 mins lol and annoys my passengers. yes i still have my fun in the car but every time i see someone bouncing off their limiter or doing burnouts im like why in my head idk im not sure if that weird me being a car guy and not liking burnouts. though tbh i did that when i was young in my 1st car attempted a burnout just a quick one too see what it was like and i did it and the tyres wasn't even spinning lol prob as its a front wheel drive i didn't break it maybe whoever is owning it now might get a issue with it because of that idk.

      @jayfrosvlogs yeah I get that each to their own. You can put in a switch to remove them when you like etc if you fancy it. Mine has one but I might get a switch or get it removed but mine are mapped for 2 seconds of overrun so that won't be an issue for the turbo. It's usually anti-lag I believe that can cause more issues.
