- Nagaland has been experiencing unpredictable weather for the past few months, leading to severe consequences for the local population. In Seitheke Basa, six households were completely washed away by landslides and soil erosion, impacting many lives. Affected families shared that this isn't the first time such a disaster has struck; 5 to 6 years ago, a similar incident destroyed numerous homes. This year, six more households have been lost to the river, along with valuable land and property.

Village Council should take legal action against the one who built this illegal wall along the river by diverting the natural flow.
The river is no man's land , it's illegal to construct wall at the river side that obstruct the flow of water only at one side... The one who construct this wall should be jail

The one who built the wall should compensate the 6 families who lost their home and everyone who is about to lose their home.
The last time I came across this story was in the global news segment. Why are the Village Counsil so fearful of a single person? The one who constructed this illegal wall by the river should be held accountable for compensating the family affected by the river's damage.
Onesided wall should not be allowed , river has no wall and the volume of water is so great that near by houses can be swept away any time , if wall is to be built , both sides should be constructed at the same time before monsoon season , to avoid diversion of water force , that wall should be removed immediately for the security of all 🙏

Just my opinion -- However high or low the cost of land buying nearby river sides....keep in mind One Day for sure water will wash you off.

The one who is illegally raising walls in dry areas to grab extra land. They are to be blamed. Also, land resource department is equally to be blamed if they make land patta. Village council too for allowing such built ups on the riverside. The govt too for not taking notice of such activities going on.
