The History of Hindu India (Part Five) was developed by the editors of Hinduism Today magazine in collaboration with Dr. Shiva Bajpai, Professor Emeritus of History, California State University Northridge. It is intended to provide an authentic presentation of the history of India and Hinduism for use in American middle and high school classes, as well as Hindu temple study groups and general presentations on the Hindu religion and history.
This documentary is based on the fifth chapter of the textbook, "The History of Hindu India," published in 2011. It covers Indian history from 1947 to the present day. Opening with Nehru's famed speech on August 15, 1947, it describes the formation of the new government, development of the constitution, invasion of Kashmir by Pakistan, the horrors of partition, formation of states along linguistic lines, and efforts to uplift the lower classes. It covers the religions of India along with religious strife and its causes, Hindu pilgrimage using Rameswaram as an example, Ayurveda, the impact of Hinduism in the modern world and finally a nod to the popularity of Bollywood and Indian cuisine.

Narrated by Roger (Raj) Narayan. Funded by the Uberoi Foundation, Institute for Curriculum Advancement, this film may be freely distributed for educational purposes.
Finally found this gem of a teaching, said so plainly and yet so powerfully.
The whole series of (Hindu India) has been the best.
The 5 episode series on Hinduism is really beautiful 💙 Thank you for this beautiful wisdom 🕉 🙏
This has been a fascinating story. My ancestors were Hindus & I'm intrigued to learn more about their history. People change religions, languages and way of living but the blood that runs in their veins doesn't change. Perhaps it's the call of that ancestral DNA wanting me to seek out my roots.
Very nice presentation. Being a Hindu and living in India having such a history is a great feeling to realise. Thanks for making this.
Jai hind respect from a pakistani muslim

Thank you.
Excellent
Excellent overview
I still believe the partition of India was somehow a British subterfuge to cause as much death and perpetual unrest.
Britain has A LOT to answer for, not just in India either.
Their main motive itself was to divide india as much as possible. Divide and Rule.
very nice
Namaste:)
Nice
Saw all 5 parts end-to-end. A reasonable approximation, given the limited time to cover Earth's longest living continuous civilization... a near impossible task, indeed. So, well done & thanks.
Albeit, a curiosity (or concern) is that there seems to be no Indian academic reviewers shown in the final credits. There is that pinch of salt. Perhaps, a revised version in future with Swadeshi Indology experts would be more accurate. Surely, a nation's history must be looked at from its own lens, not others'.
The series was co-authored by the late Dr. Shiva Bajpai, one of the foremost Indian historians of our time. It was reviewed by Dr. Anantanand Rambachan and Dr. T.S. Rukmani. As well, there was continuous consultation with leading historians of India, such as Dr. B.B. Lal.
Again, thank you for a job much needed and well done. again, it is haTha yoga not hatha - it is a hard retroflex sound, namaste!
Should be some discussion on fall of hinduism in Bangladesh and pak.
