Dumped fame for integrity & made 3 of the greatest records to finish ...So love them.
The passing away of Mark Hollis broke my heart. He was a natural, a talented poet, a true Rock Star. Talk Talk are the most underrated band of the 80’s. So much more to listen to in their discography..
I think same. Mark was a guy full of love. But they was on the wrong Label. Once i saw it, there Label /Producer Was yhwh. Thats yachwe, Or adonay. Thats is the Name of the jewish Antichrist. No joke tbh. God bless you All.
I'm 70 now and it's been a real pleasure having Talk Talk's music in my life "It's my life" continues to blow my mind.
DEFINITELY ONE OF THE MOST UNDERRATED BANDS - OF ALL TIME!
bs... at their prime they was one of the biggest...
@@seelenwinter6662 I think we agree!
I was there in 1986, on the front , every so often I shoot by in view.... One of the best concerts I ever attended, and believe me, I've seen a few...
Mark Hollis is one of those musicians who was strictly about the music. Wasn't comfortable with other aspects of being a musician. So much so he eventually retired in the 90s and shifted his focus to raising his children. Sadly he passed away from cancer in 2019.
One of the best bands of the 80s. Almost constantly at war with their record company who wanted them to be a Duran Duran clone, they pretty much invented new recording techniques, and were a massive influence on many other bands including Radiohead.
Also, (I believe it was) Kyuss credited them, and in particular their last studio album, as an inspiration for the creation of Stoner Rock.
fantastic, it's a shame they're no longer around.
Great sensations in 2024 too. R.I.P. Mark.
Life’s what you make it.
Must hear.
Talk Talk are great! Their most popular songs are probably "It's My Life" and the self-titled "Talk Talk". Though my personal favorite is "Such a Shame".
Such a shame from the same concert is a masterpiece
Legendary 80's band.
So, there are three pretty distinct Talk Talk eras. Early, middle and late. The two last Talk Talk records are as radically different from the two first Talk Talk albums as anything could be. I'm not exaggerating. This song is from the album right in the middle where you could hear remnants of the beginning and strains of what was to come later on. This video is a perfect manifestation of a band in transition. Still quite pop, but well on their way to be the first purveyors of _post-rock_ . The incomparable Stevie Winwood played organ in the studio version of this song, and his parts were much more up front and central in the mix than in this version.
Sweating comes because of temperatures around 35 degrees in summer 1986... I was there and it was the fifth concert in 7 days... I think i would also set down ;-)
Wonderful band who first appeared in the 80’s and made some superb music. Sadly lead singer Mark Hollis passed away in 2019 aged 64.
Superb band was... Mark was Great singer.
I remember then I bought my first Talk Talk LP in 1983. Still one of my favorite albums. A few years back I found this live concert here on RUclips, so I got the DVD. The hole concert are in my opinion very good. Not many synthband from the 80's did sound this good live :-)
Rest in Peace Mark!
This is like my favorite song in the history of mankind now but that could change. When I first heard this song, I listened to it for like a week straight literally. Thats how I do with music.
Mark Hollis, the lead singer, is regarded by many, including myself, a genius. What appears strange to you is the raw emotion/passion of this performance. You don't often see that kind of power in even a classically trained vocalist. He is not just singing a song here. He's living every word and moment to the extreme. If you watch him again with this in mind, you'll understand.
Also, I've seen a few interviews with the man, where he comes across as a mild mannnered, almost nerdy academic. Would not be out of place in a photo with a group of college professors. I think the hair in face + dark glasses turns out to be a brilliant counter to that image...
Great reaction! This is one my favourite live performances ever, just the energy, skill and composition is magic!
Mark Hollis (the singer) wasn't much for attention, but he was really into it and gave his all, just how style :)
Know this band from years ago. It's my life, and Such a Shame are their most populair songs. Singer got a very unique voice. And i love live performances, they do always some extra. Thank you for this video.
"Such A Shame" was my introduction to Talk Talk, but the album "The Party's Over" will always be my favourite.
I have the Mark Hollis biography soon for my birthday. Can't wait to read. The band and Mark especially are genious.
This is Talk Talk during their most popular 80s 'big pop' period, which is still really interesting stuff. Some big hits off this album including 'Life's What You Make It', probably their biggest hit after 'It's My Life'. Their earlier more 'synth pop' albums are also worth listening to. But the two albums after this were much more interesting, and are now considered masterpieces in avant-garde rock music; incorporating jazz, drones, classical chamber music and harsh dissonance. Do yourself a favour and put on 'Spirit Of Eden' from start to finish in a quiet room with headphones on...a religious experience :-)
Mark Hollis (the singer) co-wrote almost all of Talk Talk's songs. A bit of a poet who had an epically cool and unique voice (that didn't shine in this live performance, imo). Maybe check out their songs "It's My Life", "Such a Shame", or "Life's What You Make It" next. Their music was super interesting and stood out from the crowd back in the 80s.
Oh wow! Back in time in a kind of double way :D ... first with the music we go back to the 80s AND secondly we go back in inna time! Talk Talk is my biggest musical 80s love. Their album Colour of Spring was the first ever CD I bought while not even having a CD player, I could only listen to it when visiting my father. Of course I had their albums on cassette, but from CD the sound was so much better. From 1983 to 1989 I think I listened to one of the Talk Talk albums every day. Unfortunately I didn't manage to see them perform live. After the break-up of the band the lead singer: Mark Hollis made a solo album before he left music altogether after being very disappointed about how the music industry functioned. Sadly Mark passed away way too young. Thank you for sharing my first ever music reaction request
Must rewatch the whole concert
RIP Mark Hollis!...
The most underrated band of the eighties mark hollis RIP
That was a short version of Chameleon Day sung a capella before they went into Living In Another World.
You were wondering about what Mark Hollis (The lead singer) was about He wrote the song. So he was really into it. He was an introvert and was feeling his music the whole time he's singing. He was just being himself (Not trying to interact with the crowd ). Only the music mattered to him. Paul Webb on bass is amazing and Lee Harris, is the best, most animated and passionate, drummer I've had the pleasure to watch. I've loved this band since1981 when I was 23. I still can't get enough of their sound.
Excelente banda .talk talk ❤
Una obra de arte
Interesting version, album cut’s furious Hammond organ is replaced by a pretty awesome electric guitar
Hey hey he sings down to the mic ...very clever :-) its just his way and I think it works :-)
Talk Talk is one of the 80s bands above the rest.
Fantastic band, the studio version is even better in my opinion because of the amazing harmonica solo.
Your room looks different , Anyways, this song is a masterpiece, thanks for your reactions, they are the best ❤❤❤❤🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟😎😎😎✌️✌️✌️✌️😭😭😭🥹🥹🥹
with the bee gees and pink floyd, talk talk was my favourite band
I can see the connection with Pink Floyd, in an experimentation with music sort of way.
Best version Living In Another World a Salamanca
I knew of this band back in the day but I had never heard this particular track. They have song actually named "Talk Talk" that was probably their most popular one. This was much heavier than I expected and had "world music" rhythms and melodies, which I agree with you, definitely worked when put together. Thank you Inna for another great reaction! 🦒
I think 'It's my life' might be their most famous?
ful concert at Talk Talk - Rockpop, Dortmund 1984
Mark Hollis separated from the rest of this song, what on earth are you talking about!?
He was (and still is)one of the best and most underrated singers ever. R.I.P.
"I don't know anything about the singer".....Lol, it's only Mark Hollis, creator of some of the best music ever.
Great song, Inna, very interesting band, deserved your react.
Почему он садился на сцене,- это такой сценический образ!!
Talk Talk is one of the most underrated band of the 80's. You need to listen to "It's My Life". Also, you need to react to "Talk Talk" which is the name of the song by Talk Talk.
Thak you❤
Amazing that Mark made the decision to bail out of the music business in favor of having a real life and family. Sad that he was then taken at a relatively young ager of 62.
Why not Such a Shame live in Montreux 🤔
This is eighties New Wave Inna, another style of Rock don't forget .Next song It's my life
Classic🇸🇪
Tina S covers are amazing also. Check it out! 👍
The songtitel fits the singer……… he is a bit different……
Of all the bands etc you have reacted to you should react to Meatloaf, a different type of rock music , Bat Out Of Hell is a good place to start and For Crying Out Loud Album version. or Storytellers Album/video for more in depth interview/music/show.
Hello there hey 😊
80's is great music, arguably the best. A lot of cocaine, too😮
The version with Mark Feltham playing the mouth organ is better than this one IMO
You are so cute ,the best song of Ha Ha it’s my life. 😊😊
80s without talk talk. Pointless rip mark Hollis.
👍🇫🇮😎
This song had progressive 80s rock written all over it!
You were not alive.
Do not speak please!
