I lived in Southwest Detroit. On Florida Street. I went to Priest Elementary. It breaks my heart to see Detroit in the shape it is now. I have nothing but wonderful memories. My father worked for Ford Motor company in Wixom and the commute was way to far. We moved when I was seven. We would visit our neighbors, a few times a year. I remember watching the area decline and houses becoming abandon in the 80s. It honestly broke my heart! My prayers go out to everyone on the streets. May God watch over you all, and help you with your addictions.

Has anyone else noticed that Maddie is being pimped in a casual way. It seems like she is working for the both of them. He says he does yard work to make money. Not much yard work in the mid of winter. She supports both of their habits.
It really does hurt to see little progression in recovery or the want to recover I just had an eerie vibe that the whole entire time she was looking in the card the one and only thing on her mind was finding money and he was sitting there staring at the envelopes. I really hope they can make things better for themselves they have a lot of support from you and everyone on here

No walking out as these scholarships are not easy to get and ppl work awful hard to find/get these beds.. PS. Agree, if he would just stay his ass in Grandpa's house but unfortunately he probably does not have clean nice friends to hang out with. Bored at home and becoming a product of his environment. If he steps outside and all he sees is drug addicts and pimps and prostitutes and drug dealers, what is he going think of life? Where is his parents, what is his life story? On the other hand Maddie can take her ass back home, tell them she need help for her kids and probably get it if she was willing to go back home and ask for it. Him on the other hand only has his grandpa that is probably too old to know what to do with him. He probably tells him he cannot do drugs inside or come in with a certain behavior, and will not let other addicts in his home which I do not blame his grandpa, it is his home, so he probably go out with Maddie and get high with her and when get tired from the bindge goes back home to sleep it off. Unfortunately the drugs and lifestyle has probably messed with his mental health and Outlook at life soo he probably just sees this as freedom of doing what ever he wants to do with no one telling him what to do. He may have schizophrenia, sometimes it seem like he hear voices to, probably due to staying up and not getting enough sleep, making him hear weird stuff and say weird stuff out loud. Maybe if Maddy decided to get clean or vice versa and really got some good people on their side, some therapy, they could make that landscaping business a reality. If he had more resources and motivation to help him navigate how to own a business to. Right now it seems neither of them have the drive to go back to school and get clean and it seems like he gets legit work but maybe not soo much more opportunity for a better life where he from. It look depressing out there. Even if they get jobs, instead of paying rent, and eating good, it seems like they rather blow on addiction. Sad sad.

That kitten makes me feel all warm inside...Being a cat person that I am. My husband Dave and I can't afford to keep a pet, so I watch cat videos sometimes.
My five year old daughter wanted a cat then I taught her how to have many birds foxes of the wild to talk to her. She loves her raven it does its head a has a talk. Trust me she won't give any of that up. She said why can we have them so close. I told her they love a trust her and will watch all around.
Everyone talking about how "ungrateful" they are and "wishing there was money in the cards". 🙄 Anyone would rather find money in a card given to them, especially if you're at the point of turning tricks to survive. The weather is getting colder there now, it's at the point of freezing and snowing, unless you personally know what it's like to go through the hell of going into opiate withdrawal outside in the middle of the freezing winter because you don't have the money to keep from getting sick/going into withdrawal you have no place to judge her (I say her because Maddie is the one physically dependent on opiates). She could literally die if she was experiencing withdrawal in that weather for too long. She could possibly die from doing the wrong date as well. If the money keeps her safe, warm, well, and out of a random car for a little while longer I'm glad. It's easy to judge if you've never been in her shoes. Also I hope Jerryl's kitten abuse stories are a thing of the past. Bringing the kitten on camera was a bold move on his part (though I'm sure he didn't think about it at the time of the recording). I hope the little one has all it needs to be healthy and happy. I had a dog while homeless, I still have her now that I'm off the streets. She was with me on the streets for 2 and a half years. People constantly judged me and said that "I shouldn't have a dog" because they think I couldn't care for her. I can tell you that I put my dog before everything else in my life. She gave me a reason to keep going when I had nothing. My dog kept me safe from predators, we kept each other warm, any money I made went to her food and vet care first. She still comes first. I hope that having a kitten to care about will give them something to love and hopefully put first as well.

I'm always watching these videos it's so touching to me to see how a community can come together and help. Maddie didn't even read all that letter. It's sad cuz they were hoping to get dope money. That's the reality of it. When your strung out that bad it's all you think about. I know cuz I use to be a severe crack addict. Hopefully they get help or get tired of living like that. If both of them got minimum wage jobs they could at least afford a roof over there head.
A bit messed up someone could not put 5 or 10 in the envelope. What are they supposed to do with a letter with no money? They cannot eat it. They cannot keep warm. Maddie needs basic survival needs. You can always send a gift card to a grocery store if you don't want to send cash. Sad

So many times it's the woman dragging the man down, Jarryl could probably kick his habit and get on his feet if he would be done with Maddie.
Agree, if he would just stay his ass in Grandpa's house but unfortunately he probably does not have clean nice friends to hang out with. Bored at home and becoming a product of his environment. If he steps outside and all he sees is drug addicts and pimps and prostitutes and drug dealers, what is he going think of life? Where is his parents, what is his life story? On the other hand Maddie can take her ass back home, tell them she need help for her kids and probably get it if she was willing to go back home and ask for it. Him on the other hand only has his grandpa that is probably too old to know what to do with him. He probably tells him he cannot do drugs inside or come in with a certain behavior, and will not let other addicts in his home which I do not blame his grandpa, it is his home, so he probably go out with Maddie and get high with her and when get tired from the bindge goes back home to sleep it off. Unfortunately the drugs and lifestyle has probably messed with his mental health and Outlook at life soo he probably just sees this as freedom of doing what ever he wants to do with no one telling him what to do. He may have schizophrenia, sometimes it seem like he hear voices to, probably due to staying up and not getting enough sleep, making him hear weird stuff and say weird stuff out loud. Maybe if Maddy decided to get clean or vice versa and really got some good people on their side, some therapy, they could make that landscaping business a reality. If he had more resources and motivation to help him navigate how to own a business to. Right now it seems neither of them have the drive to go back to school and get clean and it seems like he gets legit work but maybe not soo much more opportunity for a better life where he from. It look depressing out there. Even if they get jobs, instead of paying rent, and eating good, it seems like they rather blow on addiction. Sad sad.

We cant give him clothes w tags, money or gift cards. It all gets wasted on drugs. I've been there. I know anyone can recover from this disease

That kitten makes me feel all warm inside...Being a cat person that I am. My husband Dave and I can't afford to keep a pet, so I watch cat videos sometimes.
My five year old daughter wanted a cat then I taught her how to have many birds foxes of the wild to talk to her. She loves her raven it does its head a has a talk. Trust me she won't give any of that up. She said why can we have them so close. I told her they love a trust her and will watch all around.
Everyone talking about how "ungrateful" they are and "wishing there was money in the cards". 🙄 Anyone would rather find money in a card given to them, especially if you're at the point of turning tricks to survive. The weather is getting colder there now, it's at the point of freezing and snowing, unless you personally know what it's like to go through the hell of going into opiate withdrawal outside in the middle of the freezing winter because you don't have the money to keep from getting sick/going into withdrawal you have no place to judge her (I say her because Maddie is the one physically dependent on opiates). She could literally die if she was experiencing withdrawal in that weather for too long. She could possibly die from doing the wrong date as well. If the money keeps her safe, warm, well, and out of a random car for a little while longer I'm glad. It's easy to judge if you've never been in her shoes.
Also I hope Jerryl's kitten abuse stories are a thing of the past. Bringing the kitten on camera was a bold move on his part (though I'm sure he didn't think about it at the time of the recording). I hope the little one has all it needs to be healthy and happy. I had a dog while homeless, I still have her now that I'm off the streets. She was with me on the streets for 2 and a half years. People constantly judged me and said that "I shouldn't have a dog" because they think I couldn't care for her. I can tell you that I put my dog before everything else in my life. She gave me a reason to keep going when I had nothing. My dog kept me safe from predators, we kept each other warm, any money I made went to her food and vet care first. She still comes first. I hope that having a kitten to care about will give them something to love and hopefully put first as well.

I'm DAMN worried about that poor cat that man should NOT have animals i'm fucking livid again. Poor kitty I pray to Jesus that it doesn't get abused like the last 2 cats he abused. Saying i'm upset to see him with a cat is a fucking understatement. All I can do at this point is pray for any animals that come their way. I can no longer concentrate on the message of the video when there is an animal abuser sociopath as the main character holding an innocent baby animal.
I'm always watching these videos it's so touching to me to see how a community can come together and help. I wish I could do something but we actually just got a place to live after spending some time in a camper (4 kids and 2 adults). Maddie didn't even read all that letter. It's sad cuz they were hoping to get dope money. That's the reality of it. When your strung out that bad it's all you think about. I know cuz I use to be a severe crack addict. Hopefully they get help or get tired of living like that. If both of them got minimum wage jobs they could at least afford a roof over there head.
A bit messed up someone could not put 5 or 10 in the envelope. What are they supposed to do with a letter with no money? They cannot eat it. They cannot keep warm. Maddie needs basic survival needs. You can always send a gift card to a grocery store if you don't want to send cash. Sad
