I used to work at Redwing boot store. Spray rubbing alcohol on the outside and immediately walk with boots on. You feel the leather release as you walk! Super awesome to get the leather to relax. So much more comfortable!!! Hope you see this! 😊

My father also had a men’s shoe store. He also use rubbing alcohol. Some company repackaged it for shoe stores. Can’t remember the product name, but they marked it up 1000% over rubbing alcohol. My dad wouldn’t carry it because he said it was a ripoff. Just advised guys to use the drugstore stuff.😄

Do not use on synthetic material. If real leather ,coat it a good liberal coat of pure neats foot oil from a saddle shop when soaked overnight, then coat with SnoSeal for waterproofing. Did this for years in the leather shop for all leather items exposed to weather. The alcohol should be 100 percent alcohol, 70 and 40 percent contains water will evaporate slower no diffrent than putting water on the leather which we do when we want to make pliable or turn a leather bag inside out.

I was stunned into silence the other day when I contacted a dental insurance company (I'm a service provider) and instead of being on hold for 1.5 hours as is the norm, I was on hold for about 10 seconds. Mink oil is pure magic. We would oil our wildland fire boots often (once a week or more) when they were new to help the leather soften and form to our feet. Also, wearing slick thin socks (like dress shoe socks) under thicker boot socks will help prevent blisters while the boots are so stiff. They will form to your feet soon and be the most comfortable shoes you own.

The IRS is so special. They hit my business the same way in the 1990's X2! Each time they levied me it took 6 months to get my $ back. Don't forget to demand the bank fee when you are repaid. In the 90's that was 150.00, I'm guessing today it's a lot more. My 2nd repayment did not include the bank fee and I gave up after a couple years of them laughing at me. In the 1990's this happened to small business's a lot. I was told (by our very good accountant) they do this to see who will pay and not demand it back. Praying you have a good outcome. Being a boot wearer for over 4 decades, l have learned a few tricks.
Watch TV and knead your leather. I also use Lexol leather conditioner. This conditioner will soften the leather and help it to be more pliable.
Another trick is to wet the leather where it rubs. This will allow the new leather to stretch in that area.
I have used a 30% rubbing alcohol to 60% water in a spray bottle to wet the areas. You could also spray the entire foot box to speed this along.
Also, don't wear them for long periods when first breaking them in.😂

To break in boots fast… boil a kettle of water. Fill the boots with almost boiling water.
Wait until the water saturates the leather and you see it beading on the outside.
Dump out the water and wait a couple minutes so you don’t burn your feet.
Put them on… they should be soft now.
    Lace them up real tight.
Wear them all day and let them dry on your feet.
Make sure you do lots of bending and movement.

That is how we break in saddles. After they have stretched out and are fully dry. Use a beeswax based sealer stay away from mink oil as it will rot the threads in your boots.

ya know if you don't lace em up so tight, it wont hurt your foot, you gotta let the leather stretch out on new boots before you crank down on the laces.

The term that Roman was searching for when he was describing how he was leveling the vertical rebar by sight is "laser eye". I hear house construction workers use this term all the time.

Hello Cole and Roman, great job on working with the rebarb and refitting everything. Hang in there Cole your boots will soften up hopefully at some point. But your feet might take a beating a little bit ouch. Looking forward to your next video. Thank you.

Cole, Your BOOTS are actually harming your feet weather you believe it or not. The answer is to have your boots slightly stretched in the tight spots. Shoemakers used to do this years ago, but now a days it's just order your size, which is a one size fits all.

Yes, they have wooden forms for stretching spots that are too tight. Had a pair of cowboy boots and the store did it right on the spot. Don't lace them so tight. As they stretch you can can gradually tighten the until they get more broken in. I have some Georgia's that about kill me whenever I get a new pair, right across the top of the instep. They are slip on so I can't do anything. But mink oil really helps.

Custom boots that wear like that? I will never keep boots that are not comfortable right away. Danner boots are known for their comfort right out of the box.

Hello my friend, I think you should put safety caps on the steel bars, especially considering that they are below ground level and a fall would be disastrous. Also, if an inspector sees the video, he could investigate 😂😂😂. Keep up the good work. Greetings from Cuba.

I've broken in Dr. Martens before, my advice is to give thdm a sponge bath with warm water and a nice moisturising bodywash, followed by a massage with leather conditioner, and stuff them full of damp newspaper every single night. Then wear them all day every day with 2 pairs of socks. One thin, cotton pair, and one thick, woolen pair. Should take around 1-2 weeks to break in. Soak your feet in very warm water and epsom salt, then give them a good massage every night, too. Your feet will thank you for it.

Cole, you might try wearing the new boots/shoes a few hours at a time, takes longer to break in, but less pain.

Roman said more coffee breaks for me to kill time and Cole you can do some office work. When the IRS thinks you owe them money they take your money faster. But when it’s thier mistake takes longer to get back into your account. Good quality boots breaking in a month.

I respectfully disagree. The issue here is how long he wore them… you gotta ease into these. I have similar custom Nicks boots and they do break in, just don’t overdue it.

Don't push it with those boots. You can get a tarsal or metatarsal fracture from too tight boots. I have several employees experience this when they get new boots.

Cole use saddle soap on those new boots every day as you can. It will help the leather soften up sooner. That's what I always did to make the leather more playable.😅

rub your boots down with Lanolin oil repeatedly in order to get them to bend sooner. I've had to do that with almost every set of leather boots I've ever owned. 1st coat is thick and you wipe if off 8 hrs later, and leave a small film. Then you do it again the next night. They start to give and mold to your movements a whole lot faster than just grinning and bearing it.
