  • Exposure blending is a briliant way of getting around a camera's limited dynamic range. In this video I put six blenders to the test and reveal the awesome application I use when HDR software lets me down.

Thanks Andy. Great survey of an area that is a very confusing area for amateurs.

Just discovered your channel today and love everything about it! Entertaining and more informative than any others I've seen or followed 👍. I am a photo hobbyist and haven't done HDR in some time. I still have Photomatix pro and lightroom and photoshop. What do you think of Photomatix in all honesty as I know you will tell?

Thank-you. Nothing inherently wrong with Photomatix - it's one of the originals and still in heavy use by real estate photographers. It does end up making shots that definitely have that HDR look though and if you wanted something that merges exposures without looking so classically HDR then other apps are a better choice. :)

Have you dabbled in astrophotography at all? I’m wondering if the stacking in the skylum would work well for that. I mostly do portrait photography but love landscape and astrophotography through my telescope as well. Thanks! Also would you recommend buying the lifetime version?

Not to the extent that I got into full stacking, no. In all honesty I think that Affinity Photo would be a much better choice if astro is your interest :)

Hi Andy. Does LR/Enfuse only work on early versions of Lightroom??

Should work fine. I’ve been using it for over a decade.

@@Andyhutchinson What I mean is will it work on the latest versions of LR? I thought it stopped working for anything after LR Version 7
