LOTR trilogy has got to be one of those movies that has impeccably PERFECT casting. Truly flawless casting and just the whole three movies were amazing.
I too fell in love with Orlando Bloom as Legolas in the first LOTR and believed he was really blond, then shocked to learn he's brunette. But fell in love all over again as Will Turner in Pirates. His name is mystic & beautiful. I can't get enough of his fighting scenes with his bow & arrows or swashbuckling with swords. I recently saw The Hobbit, just to watch Orlando as Legolas. I loved that the movie gave him special recognition in the credits. Sighhhhhh.
I've read somewhere they shaved his hair on the sides of his forehead because of the wig and when that happened he turned to Liv Tyler and ask her "how do I look?" and she said: "it's sweet, but I think it would be better if you'll shave the rest of the sides. So he did it.

In some scenes, he could feasibly get them back from dead enemies, and he likely got more while in Lorien/Rohan. We also don't really know how many arrows his quiver had to start with, so we can't assume.
It is for sure in the extended version, but it is a mash up of 2 scenes, the first thing you see is in the woods, (it is where they fight against the orcs and urak-hai.) the second thing you see is in the mines of moria, Legolas shot an arrow and it goes right through the head of an goblin. :) (sorry for my bad English)

The scene where Legolas turns to shoot behind is from a cut version of the flight to Lotlorien (originally the goblins were going to chase them and Haldir and his elves turn up to drive them off) and then the arrow flying to the goblin's head is from the bridge scene. They put the two scenes together.
I think its split into two parts, him loosing the bow is from the uruk hai woods fight and the arrow flying towards the orcs head is from the bridge in moria?
do it you'll find lots of new stuff. I had the same problem before, so I stared with the "Hobbit" and than advanced to LOTR eventually reading"The Sillmarilion" and "The Unfinished Tales", it's easier that way, me thinks :)

It is a mixture between two scenes. The shot with Legolas is not in the movie, but the orc getting hit by an arrow is from the Moria fleeing scene.
