What i learned from this video: High card is harder to make than a Pair.
It’s for these insightful insights that I tune in.
What did he mean by this?
Idk the stats but he might be right in Balatro, since high card means you have to play a hand that needs 5 different numbers AND cant be a flush or a straight. A pair might be easier, since high card gets more difficult the more you modify the deck because any duplicates or deck thinning makes it harder to achieve.

nothing sadder than whenever he says a card like greedy joker is "20 mult maximum" when the mult gets added on card played, meaning any mult effects like steel, glass, olbap, etc will affect an even bigger mult, pre-joker activation
Took me a while to get this in my head but I know it's come up several times in NL on-stream Balatro where chat mentions it and he corrects for it. No-one there to make the save on the YT recordings though.

@@bowserfromsonic5108 That's already a thing, it's called Perkeo. Negative is already a reserved keyword for a card to not take up slots though. Unless you mean "negative" as in "does the opposite", but then now you have to balance it because what does a negative heirophant do? What does a negative hermit do?
Something about this run made it click for me that wild cards could go crazy if your jokers are face and the suit specific jokers that trigger on every card of that suit

Skipping blinds is not good to do, and most of the time the negative you get from it does nothing
When you play on a difficulty besides white stake the economy is hard to get going. Negative Jokers are expensive

he calls it malf, which is his friends name. :D
@@admkbldwnMALF draws a goofy cartoon face that looks just like ancient joker - I think the dev put it in as an intentional reference, MALF is a fairly significant Balatro streamer from early access.
I look in the comments to see so many broken people trying to not be a type A chatter. The joker here is that NL has brainwashed you into thinking that calling him out on being a buffoon is type A behavior, but really he's just laughably bad at the game.
