The early MOH games have such amazing atmosphere , which I feel is unmatched even in a lot of shooters today. It may be because of the incredible music soundtracks, and sound design
so...Gary Oldman is playing both sides in MoH and CoD...hehehehe! actually it all started with Steven Spielberg's 1998 Saving Private Ryan with Tom Hanks and Matt Damon, including of course, Steven Spielberg's Band of Brothers, and that's when the media stopped romanticizing a little bit about the war and started showing the true horrors of the battlefields, which was very appealing for video games like the D-Day invasion scene in Normandy...If you want a more tactical stealth 1st-3rd person WW II game with huge historical content and true military events, I insist you check out the Hidden & Dangerous duology...for me, it's simply the best WW II game EVER!
I had it as Christmas present in December 2002 alongside Star Wars Jedi Outcast: they goth had the same amazing graphic engine and they both scared the s**t out of me that day for how intense and realistic they were. I remember closing my eyes in bed and seeing those Afrika Korps f**kers coming after me, lol!
It is also worth noting that the hardest medal to get, is the one you get for getting all three tank crewmembers through snipertown - and if two dies, you fail the mission... I haven't got that medal yet, since i started playing MOHAA in 2004...
Breakthrough is probalby my favorite expansion. But I share you're complains. Call of Duty kind of continued with that annoyance and took even farther. I enjoy Call of Duty as well but I get the the feeling that those games seriously lack quiet time. Which in my opinion helped develop a sense of atmosphere in MoHAA.
I sadly never played this game as I don't have a gaming PC. So to me, I feel that the first _Medal Of Honor_ and _Frontline_ are the best in the series for me.
I must be one of the few people who loves old school shooters a la DOOM, Quake, Duke 3D, as well as the military shooters like Call of Duty and Medal of Honor. A lot of old school FPS fans will disagree with me but the way I see it, it’s a different experience. COD and MOH are more about immersion and are more story driven. After this review, I want to give this a shot as well as Call of Duty 1&2.
I am so glad that they released this for game pass. I wish that they would put the other Medal of Honor games on there, like Frontline, that game and this were my childhood. Loved playing Allied assault, definitely the 2nd best in the series just behind Frontline. Airborne was good too.
Good review. Spearhead had a few interesting missions but that campaign and breakthrough don't make any justice to the original game. One thing that you missed is the fact that you can't watch the "making of" content like the first two games, that feature would was unlocked once you finish the game; where you can see images from prototypes of the game, geometry of the levels, character models and design, alternative covers from the games and stuff like that.
I like the game but I feel like it is a bit overrated. I don't know, if feels a bit cheap, the shooting doesn't feel nearly as satisfying as in the original Call of Duty, the hitscan enemies are super cheap and it feels way too "gamey" if that makes sense. Call of Duty 1 and 2 just feel much more natural to me, heavier and organic. It's odd because I really enjoy the original PSX Medal of Honor and I don't know why I don't get the same feeling with this one.
This is my impression, playing through it now (on the last mission). It's solid for the year it came out, but once Call of Duty came out, I genuinely can't see anyone saying this is *better*. There's more mission and location variety here, and I can see *preferring* the game for that reason, but it definitely is a weaker, somewhat more amateurish game in comparison to CoD 1, which despite only a year's difference, is a significant improvement in terms of mechanics, enemy placement, and general design. I haven't completed either MoH game on PS1, nor Frontline on PS2 yet, having made varying amounts of progress in each. I nonetheless feel as though I'd rather play any of them over Allied Assault, though.
Although Breakthrough's campaign was forgettable and the weakest. I find the story to be the main point of interest. You don't hear about the battles in Sicily,Africa,Italy or just the whole Mediterranean theater a lot.
On the game's page in your library, there's an icon with 3 lines next to the "PLAY" icon. Click on that > then click select executable > then one of the 2 expansions. I searched for it as well.
I brought the cd game of these sealed and brand new dont work brought it of origin dont work just crashes when you get to the ea bit any ideas please windows 10
I played variations of allied assault and pacific assault on ps2 as a kid, i can’t remember the names but they were very similar but they had better graphics and were really fun, im actually watching this as allied assault warchest downloads on my pc. Cant wait to get into it
Yeah this definitely was the best series IMO. More realistic gun play. Pacific Assault was probably my fav. You don't see quite as much Japan theater in any of the WWII games if at all.
Help! I have issue with Breakthru, I can't load the 2nd mission, the game crashes everytime. Anyone know how to solve it? (3 in 1 bundle pack on origin) Btw where can I find those mods...
The game does too have stat tracking.... You only see it when you die during a level though for some reason I think. I know it does though because I've stared at my hit locations tons of times. Not sure it tracks more than that and accuracy and kills though.
tldr - amazing SFX, soundtrack, and atmosphere.. but most of the game is a bullshit save/load fest with some broken mechanics "Oh, you took out that guard from half a football field away with the Hi-Standard? Too bad, every single dude in the manor knows exactly where you are." "Oh, those guys with the MG42s that can't see you from 30 feet away in mid-afternoon lighting unless the spotlight hits you? Well dont shoot the spotlights or else they will all see you." I saw a comment recently that offers the best description. It's a damn near perfect action movie experience in video game packaging... but at the core, it's a terrible PC shooter.
There is no bad/terrible pc game they always have flaws but they are truly playable and challenging gameplay P.S. you're comment was fully severe retardation hahahaha
1- You can hardly shoot an enemy with Hi-Standard at that range while crouching, and it's REALLY hard. 2- Only 1st, 4th and 6th missions has spotlights and they're in nighttime. So the 'spotlights mid- afternoon light' never happened. But yeah, the spotlights are annoying sometime.
For those who aren't aware. Check MOHUE, which stands for Medal of Honor: Unreal Engine. ruclips.net/video/I1Pq9yFEJRs/видео.html In 2:09, you can see that the player has the ability to run, which is something that the original game needed in my opinion.
Multiplayer in the entire game is completely dead, at least if you want to play the original game without mods for once. For the rest I love your review, you spend time on details just like bashing with all weapons is available in the expansion packs but not in the first campaign, I like it.
Basically what happened was that when gamespy shutdown which listed the servers the servers weren't visible but weren't shutdown but you can go on gametracker and copy up addresses and enter them in onto ip bar. This is if you have 1.1 which is part of the war chest reviewed here though this doesn't include spearhead and breakthrough of the war chest you have to get newer versions of these which are sold separately
It has aged. 1) not being able to raise your weapon to look down the sights...not good 2) enemies take far too much damage...5 to 8 shots...not good...3) graphics at the time were amazing.....now a little depressing. 4) enemies never miss and inflict a lot of damage.
I love this game, but my god is it hard. I just got through with the Omaha D - Day shit storm. I swear I died more than 25 times trying to get up that fucking beach. Trying to get in those bunkers is also a major bitch. This is one of the most frusterating WW2 shooters I ever played, and I have played MANY. Is it the best FPS I ever played? no it ain't, that goes to games like Doom, and Half Life for me personally. I still love the game, and I power through the Bullshit cause I enjoy it so much. If I had to choose between this and Call of Duty 2 though, I'd go with Call of Duty 2, cause that game can be a challenge, but I never died 25+ times on one section. I enjoy challenge, but that beach section was really pushing it XD. The whole beach was covered in fog, and I was pretty much a fish in a barrel for the nazi's. I can appericiate the game for trying to depict what it must of been like, cause thousands died on that beach, but still it is a video game, and that beach part was a tad bit unfair lol. The machine guns pretty much just aim for you the whole time, and I ended up with only 13 health by the time I got to the beach wall, and died another 10 to 15 times after that. In the end I did get past it, and I do recommend the game to any fps fan. The game is extremely fun, but can be pretty brutal too, so be warned.
people are better off getting the games trough mohaarevival.tk because with this you can't play multiplayer, but with mohaa revival you can play multiplayer
This game is so much better than the call of duty franchise. I agree 100%! It is more a game in a sense it is less a shooting gallery or an interactive movie. The feeling of the gun is much better. It is also more poetic. One game has worst reactions when being shot at: Doom 3!
The shooting mechanics in this game are horrible and there's no gore. Being a WW2 shooter, this is a crime. Enemies can take multiple hits from even an M1 Garand and you just get puffs of smoke off bullet impacts on people. So many missed opportunities.
EA should remaster this.
-no mircotransactions
-new content
-co-op
- Free DLC
A man can dream.
Yeah… but it’s EA so..
EA and Free Dlc? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA
lol. lmao
This game deserves remastering like nothing else! Just to not mess it up, please. The soundtrack has to stay.
2:35 Winston Churchill's war room, to be exact. I'm serious. Look it up.
holy crap it llooks exactly the same lol
thisisbadstuff Didn't he turn his bed into a desk, so he can work as he woke up?
LOL
Yep, he's right guys.
After 19 years i just realized that.
Amazing. 😂😂😂😂
The early MOH games have such amazing atmosphere , which I feel is unmatched even in a lot of shooters today. It may be because of the incredible music soundtracks, and sound design
I just love the shooting mechanics in this game, even bought the GOG version to replay it again
the shooting mechanics are just AWESOME, my favorite is the submachine gun shooting.
so...Gary Oldman is playing both sides in MoH and CoD...hehehehe! actually it all started with Steven Spielberg's 1998 Saving Private Ryan with Tom Hanks and Matt Damon, including of course, Steven Spielberg's Band of Brothers, and that's when the media stopped romanticizing a little bit about the war and started showing the true horrors of the battlefields, which was very appealing for video games like the D-Day invasion scene in Normandy...If you want a more tactical stealth 1st-3rd person WW II game with huge historical content and true military events, I insist you check out the Hidden & Dangerous duology...for me, it's simply the best WW II game EVER!
After 17 years still the best WW2 game ever made. Just wow.
agreed
I had it as Christmas present in December 2002 alongside Star Wars Jedi Outcast: they goth had the same amazing graphic engine and they both scared the s**t out of me that day for how intense and realistic they were. I remember closing my eyes in bed and seeing those Afrika Korps f**kers coming after me, lol!
Excellent review, very well done. Also great that you talked about the DLC expansions.
Loved this when it came out, and then sold it a few years later, missed it so much I bought it again!
Call of Duty wouldn't even exist if it wasn't for Medal of Honor! This game is the one that changed everything!
i am surprised to not see any mods or graphical enhancements, which you normally put down description or mention of.
Great review! Your montage technique is top notch!
good job man. love this game and all the games you've done. keep up the good work man. got yourself a sub
+arhickernell thanks!

Supper Bunny Hop's video about quiet time seems to hit the nail about the topic. A video which I recommend.
+Paul A lacking quiet time is definitely one way to put it. But I do enjoy the early CoD titles nonetheless.
Yeah Breakthrough is awesome, but I not like how the rifles/handguns of the soldiers just magically disappear when dead.
Homie I feel u too I like it when games have good stat trackers like how many u kills u got and stuff it's cool and sucks this game doesn't have it
Well said, speaking of mods and since you prefer sp over mp I highly suggest that you see some of the latest cod4 sp mods
I sadly never played this game as I don't have a gaming PC. So to me, I feel that the first _Medal Of Honor_ and _Frontline_ are the best in the series for me.
Lol a toaster will run this game
@ KUPOkinz - XD
Clayton Luce you can get a pc to eun things cheap and with most pcs now days a lot of regular computers can run gams like this now
I play this game on an Windows xp
This game is so low end that an oven pc can run it smoothly
Ohhh memories, I remember in breakthrough if you choose the correct skin in multiplayer you can use different types of guns...
good review man, loved. Congratz.

Have you reviewed rising sun. I liked that one.
I still have a physical copy of this game and still play it every now and then definitely my favourite WW2 shooter
I am so glad that they released this for game pass. I wish that they would put the other Medal of Honor games on there, like Frontline, that game and this were my childhood. Loved playing Allied assault, definitely the 2nd best in the series just behind Frontline. Airborne was good too.
I think the lack of ammo in Breakthrough was due to a bug that prevented enemies from dropping ammo when they died.
cod2/allied assault one of the best ww2 games i have ever played if not the best
I liked how the germans had a variety of uniforms in this game
Agreed, this is what original CoD lacked.
Good review. Spearhead had a few interesting missions but that campaign and breakthrough don't make any justice to the original game.

Imagine Call of Duty 2 + Medal of Honor: Allied Assault War Chest 😀

Call of Duty: Big Red One for the PS2 is the only game that i can remember has an Italian campaign
so i purchased the gog version of warchest and i can not figure out how to access the expansions so if anyone could help me that would be fantastic
On the game's page in your library, there's an icon with 3 lines next to the "PLAY" icon. Click on that > then click select executable > then one of the 2 expansions. I searched for it as well.
The first MOH, COD and RTCW were my childhood, or atleast what I tought was the coolest at the time :)
I brought the cd game of these sealed and brand new dont work brought it of origin dont work just crashes when you get to the ea bit any ideas please windows 10
Capt Dale Dye also played as colonel sink in brothers in arms hell's highway
I played variations of allied assault and pacific assault on ps2 as a kid, i can’t remember the names but they were very similar but they had better graphics and were really fun, im actually watching this as allied assault warchest downloads on my pc. Cant wait to get into it

It is normal for me to have high spread when I get shot , it is more reallistic !
Man what an amazing game and amazing review
not that difficult for them to remaster this game ... so why not?
d-day level is same as moh frontline, but different mission
Help! I have issue with Breakthru, I can't load the 2nd mission, the game crashes everytime. Anyone know how to solve it? (3 in 1 bundle pack on origin) Btw where can I find those mods...
How did you get the game that good?
iremmeber this game being out before band of brothers. which came out when I was starting highschool. almost 8 year difference
in ps1 I liked the stat tracking
Good Review!

Thanks bro just played it it’s awesome even today more relaxed and arcadey than modern shooters :) a welcome break!
That's odd. My fondest memories of the game are Omaha Beach and the Breakthrough campaign.
I NEVER knew it was Gary Oldman, I just thought it was some guy that sounded like Gary Oldman. Gary. Oldman !!
Multiplayer in the entire game is completely dead, at least if you want to play the original game without mods for once.
For the rest I love your review, you spend time on details just like bashing with all weapons is available in the expansion packs but not in the first campaign, I like it.
Just a piece of soap thanks! Appreciate it.
do you have mohaarevival? there are still servers and a few servers that people play
Basically what happened was that when gamespy shutdown which listed the servers the servers weren't visible but weren't shutdown but you can go on gametracker and copy up addresses and enter them in onto ip bar. U deserve more subs, views, and likes
+Bob Lob if only. Appreciate it, thank you.
Btw great review, came here because you get this pack with ea access, looks really good and I think I might give it a try!
Bob Lob it has some issues but it's still my favorite WW2 FPS to date. Enjoy!
Oh my god i love the original allied assault
the breaktrough includes italians
One of the best MP games ever SP is great but the MP is even better OBJ is the best mode.
It has aged. 1) not being able to raise your weapon to look down the sights...not good 2) enemies take far too much damage...5 to 8 shots...not good...3) graphics at the time were amazing.....now a little depressing. 4) enemies never miss and inflict a lot of damage.
This game really is the best WWII FPS ever made. COD2 is a REALLY close second though.
Well, I have windows 10, This just broguht me back memories. Can someone let me know how I can play this game with WINDOWS 10?
this should be remake
too bad no controller support

I Will defend it to my death
RUclips: TOO MUCH ADS!!!!

simply the best MP game of its time..RIP my friend :(
This is one OF THE BEST GAMES OF ALL TIME.

modern warfare was the best common sir really !

Remaster it.
I can't play this game because of the stupid AimBot
