I love the warmth and the appreciation for life and the simple things that comes from the Georgian people documented here. This is a really beautiful documentary in a equally beautiful country! Thank you for sharing.
Your vids about Georgia are so genuine. Ordinary people with ordinary problems , common life's way. I wish all bbc,cnn etc documentary movies were like yours, like created for humans about humans.
Wow! I’m a Georgian dude living in the US, and I gotta tell ya, you really made me cry. I wish people in the US were more like us. I live in the Northeast and people here don’t give a rat’s ass about each other sadly.
whysunisyellow Well... that wouldn’t be enough for me. I dislike the way Tbilisi looks at the moment. If they were to rebuild some parts and modernize the city a bit then I would definitely consider moving back :)
its a gorgious country. i love georgian people... id love to join on a volunteer group to teach english or to help georgian any way i can... id love to live there .. love georgia :P
I love this country's culture and language, and that's what I came here to see, but I was pleasantly surprised with what I got - this video really shows how people's lives and passtimes in one country are usually not that different from our lives here in America. I feel like this is something a lot of Americans just can't understand or don't want to bother to understand, they just seem to go with stereotypes, which is sad...
I'm so glad you enjoyed your time in Georgia which I can definitely tell from the movie. And I'm also very glad you tried to learn some Georgia, despite the fact that it is one of the most difficult language on entire earth. Come back often to visit, you're always welcome. Don't think I'm bragging, but you'll hardly find more hospitable nation than Georgians. Thanks for making the movie and sharing. დიდი მადლობა
Great film! I also went to Georgia as part of the same program. I miss the country dearly. Once you have lived in Georgia, you are never the same! Sakartvelo Galmajos!
Thank you for your efforts to bring this little piece of a gem together. Me and my wife just watched your film and guess what? My wife got homesick (she is Gerogian) and I was impressed how you were communicating with the kartwelebi. Your film is proof to how the people of Georgia really are! Thumbs up for the good work and good luck to you in the future. Didi madloba!
Thank you so much for making this pleasant to heart video. It just reminded me how much I miss Georgia, nostalgic;'(. It's good to know that people from Canada or the US know more about it now;D
Excellent work! Yochaggg! Nothing is more revealing about a country than straightforward, honest answers about important, or downright personal questions! I really enjoyed watching this video, and I hope others will too. Miyvars da menatrebi saqartvelo....qoveltvis!
This was a great (and very funny) documentary and I'm glad I came across it. I am an American who just signed up for the Peace Corps and chose Georgia as my preferred deployment destination. It was great to see that the people you were with had such a great sense of humor. This documentary only confirmed my desire to visit. Very well put together especially with the subtitles and all. Nice work dude!
i went to Georgia last month, it is the most beautiful country actually, it is the country of calmness, beauty and amazing nature i will be back to Georgia at the end of 2013 love u georgia love tbilisi love ajara
Very interesting video. I'm an English teacher/tutor from the US now living in Argentina, and while there are plenty of differences between Georgia and Argentina, there are also lots of similarities.
Awesome video! I was a TLG'er from Sept 2011 to June of 2012 near the city of Senaki. I'm going back in three weeks and this time I'm gonna stay until they make me leave!
Great job, Paul Brain. Unfortunately, this time I do not get to watch the whole movie; however, the part I saw was really nice. I am IMPRESSED with your Georgian... : )) Good luck !
Thank you Paul Brian for this video. A very charming, touching look at Georgia. Hard to imagine that this land with very hospitable people gave birth to Stalin! After the Russian Revolution in 1917, Georgia declared its independence but it was reconquered by Stalin and his men in 1921. I wonder what how the Georgians feel about Stalin.
I'm glad you noticed Birgit. yes, I find Georgians are very spontaneous, genuine and share everything. They tend to be much less reserved and unfriendly/insecure than North Americans.
Paul Brian I am planning to move there.. could you point out anything worthwhile… like how to get in touch with the organization you worked with as an English teacher.
Georgia is a fascinating country. In Tbilisi they have many important streets named after their poets: Chavchavadze, Tabidze, Rustaveli, Vazha-Pshavela....but you don t see anyone reading on the metro! (unlike in London or Paris).
I would love to go there. I've never taught English but I have taught kids basketball and loved it. I guess it's been close to a month now I'm trying to find out how to go to another country and teach anything
Paul Brian hey again! I applied with TLG yesterday. I was just wondering if you were able to cover your cost of living with the monthly stipend, or if you needed to do extra work on the side like tutoring? any information you can provide would be incredibly useful. thanks in advance.
Visited Georgia in September 2013. Fell in love. What a nice people, what a beautiful country. Can't wait to go back. Love from Sweden
❤
These people are so happy. I love how they are so happy with the simple lives they have. seems like a peaceful life.
I love the warmth and the appreciation for life and the simple things that comes from the Georgian people documented here. This is a really beautiful documentary in a equally beautiful country! Thank you for sharing.
Personally georgian is one of my favorites languages in the world
Really amazing people in a great country!
Your vids about Georgia are so genuine. Ordinary people with ordinary problems , common life's way. I wish all bbc,cnn etc documentary movies were like yours, like created for humans about humans.
Thanks Asiminios, I appreciate that. Wish I was still there.
+Paul Brian i am also Georgian, and.. Which province do u live in Canada?
+Misho Maisuradze Right now I'm in British Columbia, the most western province of Canada. Before I was in Ontario in the east.
Wow! I’m a Georgian dude living in the US, and I gotta tell ya, you really made me cry. I wish people in the US were more like us. I live in the Northeast and people here don’t give a rat’s ass about each other sadly.
George James Wilson i am georgian too, in new york. If you had a chance to make good money in Georgia, would you go back?
whysunisyellow Well... that wouldn’t be enough for me. I dislike the way Tbilisi looks at the moment. If they were to rebuild some parts and modernize the city a bit then I would definitely consider moving back :)
I have just seen this film and i wanna say THANK YOU SO MUCH.it was amazing.

jim holroyd That’s because it’s quite uncomfortable reading in that noise. We prefer to read at home or in a park, where we can relax.

Excellent video. Thanks for sharing. I am currently looking for placements to teach English. Which organization did you go through?
Through Teach and Learn with Georgia. It's a volunteer initiative to teach English where you usually get placed in a rural village. www.tlg.gov.ge/
Paul Brian Thanks so much!
Paul Brian hey again! I applied with TLG yesterday. I was just wondering if you were able to cover your cost of living with the monthly stipend, or if you needed to do extra work on the side like tutoring? any information you can provide would be incredibly useful. thanks in advance.
When I took part the cost of room and board was covered by the stipend/program.
Yeah, I know that. I meant living expenses like going out, buying things, etc. :)
I plan to go to Georgia after I finish my study in Turkey )))
