@@seanocean4745 Conceding only 18 goals is very impressive. And yes, De Zerbi football really exposes his defense to catastrophic scorelines.
However, saying Alonso is in a different level to De Zerbi is plain laughable. Different level? Is it because he's winning the Bungesliga or because they are playing alien football?
The fact is that Brighton is the team with the second-lowest wage bill in the PL. So talent to wage ratio, they are massively over performing. Last year, Brighton finished sixth above Chelsea, Liverpool, And Spurs. Then sold both of their best players to Liverpool and Chelsea.
Since De Zerbi came to Brighton, they have average 69% possession, more than Chelsea, United, Arsenal, Liverpool. Only City had more.
They are the team that took the most shots and missed the most big chances. Every thing they did is what the big teams with the super star players are supposed to be doing. Don't forget they did it with players 18 other PL teams are paying more for.
They absolutely wiped the floor with Chelsea, and United home and away, Liverpool, And title chasing Arsenal 3-0 at the Emirates. They didn't just win, but taught each of those teams footballing lessons. It was common knowledge VAR robbed Brighton the most last season. I remembered Twice against Spurs.
Don't forget they lost McAllister, world cup player and winner, and Caicedo, a player even Liverpool bidded 110m for. Cucurella to Chelsea for 60 million. Colwill returned from loan.
If you then juxtaposed the level of competition in the PL with the Bungesliga, to say that Alonso is on a different level to De Zerbi is pretty laughable.
Credit to Alonso. He's been brilliant. Actually toppling Bayern under any circumstances is pretty unbelievable.

From Xabi Alonso’s perspective, I think he made the right move in staying at Bayer Leverkusen. I feel like in recent times, we’re seeing managers do very well at a small club and then after that, a big club swoops for them it doesn’t work out and then their stock is at an all time low. Imagine if he goes to Liverpool or Bayern Munich and the project proves to be too big for him at this stage of his managerial career, we would say that he made the wrong move. I think staying at Bayer Leverkusen is beneficial for his development as a manager because he’ll gain more experience and he’ll continue to grow. In the future, Florentino Perez knows that he could be the next Real Madrid manager and as of right now since Carlo Ancelotti is doing so well they don’t need a coaching change just yet. In the future if Ancelotti decides to call it a day, then Alonso will be their next manager. They’re going to have a team with guys like Kylian Mbappe Jude Bellingham Vinicius Junior and Endrick, can you imagine Xabi Alonso coaching that team. He knows that staying at Leverkusen for a while things will continue to go on the up before he eventually gets the Real Madrid job.

I'm reminding him system coaches like Pep, Arteta, and Xabi Alonso rarely fit the superstar culture in Madrid. There's only one way to play with Vini, Mbappe, Bellingham, Valverde Rodrygo starting in your team: that's counter attack.
Real have never played football that that people attach any stylistic appreciation to like Barca or Arsenal and now City because Perez has never appointed highly systemic coach with "a philosophy" it's always the win by whatever means like Ancelloti, Benitez, Mourinho, Zidane. It's why people never consider them heavy favourites for UCL before they win it every year. They don't appear to be the most dominant team in matches.

Long term, money wins. Take any match-up on any given day and the club with the higher wage bill is far more likely to win. Sure, in the short term you can have a surprise run like Saarbrücken in the DFB-Pokal or even a season where you beat the much richer club, but what happens after an overperformance? For one, regression to the mean, but more importantly all the players that overperformed will be poached from all corners of the continent.
So if you want to win trophies as a manager, you have to move to a big club. When Leverkusen eventually fall off next season, Xabi Alonso won't have the negotiation power he has now.
Just look at Mourinho in contrast: He had one special season at Porto and he leveraged that into massive clubs where he could be a bad manager coasting on house money. It took decades for people figuring out that he has always been a fraud with only one lucky season.

What are they talking about?! Bayern is well known to be a club full of egos from players to representatives. It happened many times in the past that senior players not liking the manager led to his sacking despite the overall performance of the team. Ancelotti is an example for that. Also Nagelsmann found a completely new situation at Bayern since Hoeneß and Rummenigge stepped down. These two embodied Bayern and every decision went through them and shaped the club like it is today. It left a vacuum and let to turmoil behind the scenes. Even now Hoeneß still has his hands in the day to day operation although not having role at the club that would allow him to do it. It makes it almost impossible for new hires to bring in some ideas of their own. This transition away from Hoeneß and Rummenigge is going to be the toughest test for Bayern in their recent history. Nagelsmann probably underestimated this situation and was used as a scapegoat. Easy as this was his first time at a major club. He still is a bright coaching talent and good manager. He should choose his next club wisely.

Recently I heard that Zinedine Zidane won’t be Bayern Munich’s next manager and Liverpool have pulled out of the race to hire Xavi Alonso as a Jurgen Klopp replacement so what do both clubs do.
I think Liverpool in particular needs to find a manager that has a similar philosophy to Klopp. You want a manager that’ll be able to have a similar approach with the players you have at your disposal and there’s a lot of talk about Roberto de Zerbi. Right now at Brighton, things haven’t been easy for him as just them in general overachieved last season we can all agree on that, but the guy is an excellent manager the fact that he was able to get European football and a place in the RD of 16 in the Europa League even if Roma beat them across both legs while managing Brighton of all teams that’s still impressive even if they’re not as good as last season. De Zerbi goes with an energetic style and his team is more about pressing and playing fast tempo football. There are many managers who will be available for them to hire next season. Zinedine Zidane Jose Mourinho Antonio Conte Julian Nagelsmann Thomas Tuchel Xavi etc, but I have a feeling that de Zerbi would be a good fit for Liverpool. What do you think?

Yes, the pace in the football business is fast, and yes, this means that the jobs at Bayern and Liverpool might not be vacant anymore in one year. Staying at Liverpool next year he may not have th opportunity for the liverpool job it he could have it for the Madrid or other teams as well. It's just a loss to Liverpool because he ticks all the boxes but their wishes is not way Xabi is planning for his career and even if Liverkusen didn't get the results it's clear the Xabi has working system not just a man manager this will always make clubs want his services

To go an win the Bundesliga again would prove it's not just a blip (regarding Bayern) though as Leverkusen haven't lost a game all seaaon...Trust me....this is no blip! Bayern haven't been bad! Just Leverkusen have been incredible. Almost April and still haven't lost a game. You can't keep up with that.
Trust the process. Trust FSG, Edwards and co. Klopp leaving is massive but so is Pep Lijnders, Peter Krawietz, Vitor Matos and others. It's a new beggining. Enjoy it...support it and have FAITH.
I'm more worried about players deciding they want a new challenge! One you can get away with...But not 3, 4 and 5 big names leaving.

Going to Liverpool or Bayern are no win situations anyway. Just like Moyes and Emery at Man U and Arsenal, the next manager after the top dog has left is always doomed. Too much baggage and institutionalisation at the club for the manager to make their name. You need to be the second or third manager after Klopp has gone and get more people in positions to buy into your image/ project. Arrest is a perfect example of this. Bayern is a revolving door after Guardiola. You are either perfect or out and there is not time to craft a team there.

Bayern playing better has nothing to do with the Tuchel announcement. They started to play better when almost all player were fit and they had more of a fight for the positions in the starting 11 and the bench. Remember in the 1st half of the season, there were games when they couldn't even fill up the bench, despite poaching youth and 2nd team players..
