The Lume Cube 2.0 is a little high powered portable studio LED light in a solid metal casing. I was able to review the Lume Cube 2.0 Portable Lighting Kit Plus for a couple of months and I used it for all sorts of photography and video jobs and I love it! Watch the videoreview!
Let’s make make one thing very clear: I am not a photography and video-specialist. The reason why I say this is that I am totally hooked on the Lume Cube 2.0 that I am reviewing here. Being hooked and not being a specialist in this field means that I don’t have the brought view that I have in Outdoor en Bike topics. That said; I don’t think there is any harm in being enthusiastic about a product that makes my video- and photography a lot easier. Agree?

Smashing review and what a an excellent product. I went to college for photography in the days of film and chemical processing, I loved it, so anything that can be used for photography or videography interests me. Just a thought about the long charging time. You mentioned that you did not use the usb cable provided, could that possibly have something to do with it. I have found in the past on various electronic devices that using the original cables supplied is probably the best option, it's worth a try anyway.

Did you charge the lume cube just plugged into an outlet? Wall adapters almost always charge faster then other power sources due to higher amperage. Also can you stack more then 1 filter? like could I use the Red filter AND the dome diffuser?
Dear Michael, You can stack everything if you like, it's al magnetic: so red filter and dome is possible. I charge with a USB and adapter in an outlet and also on the computer. Outlet is faster. Enjoy the Outdoors and Stay Safe! Cheers, Gijs

Please tell me what is the difference between such a lumcube and normal flashlight like tea say Olight s1? I know that pouting is different and it has got plenty on accessories,
Hi, There are many.... The light is different, the pattern is different, the intensity is different, the mounting (on a tripod) is different, connection to my phone is different, the extra's.... and much more. I have a S1 and hardly use it for photography anymore since the LC 2.0 is more convenient. Does this help? Cheers, Gijs
I’m curious, are there any that can change the color of the lighting? I bought a sunset lamp & you can change the color to whatever you want..

The battery probably runs out faster indoors because of the heat generated by the bulb. Colder temps outside = better heat dissipation so it can maintain optimal temperature inside the light’s airtight (waterproof) housing = longer battery life!

I read that the lumins are actually 200 not the advertised 700. Is this true

The battery lasts longer in the cold because some of the batteries power dissipates in the form of heat, so when it runs cooler, you prevent that from happening, and the hotter it runs, the faster your battery will dissipate heat. This goes for all batteries

The product wouldn't turn on and I couldn't wrestle the lens mount into place. The fact this company would launch a product with this many operational and design flaws is so disappointing. The lens mount should just snap on & of course, the product should be able to fulfill its basic function
