    This will help my camera to focus when I take photos in dark environments. Right now I use the flash on my phone so my camera can see which is unprofessional in my opinion. I will definitely be picking one of these up!

      aes53 they let me keep the model they sent me. They have additional accessories on their website, which are all compatible with the original - which is good to see.

    So what difference will be by using plain flashlight, lets say $25 Milwaukee Rover true color pocket flood light, 300 lumens compared to this $90 one?

    • @benharveyphotography
      @benharveyphotography  4 года назад

      Hi. These aren’t comparable tools - they are meant for different purposes. The floodlight that you referenced, I am on their website, is massive, it is aimed at trades (plumbers etc), it has an on and off switch, a very large battery and much longer life. Probably a lot brighter. This has no connection for a tripod or would be inconvenient for making videos.
      The Lume cube has Bluetooth, works with an app, has colour consistency, a softer quality of light, magnetic colour correction filters, a screw thread on the underside to attach it to your camera/tripod. It is also waterproof.
      So, it depends what you need it for. Torches are cheap, anything photography related will be more expensive. That’s just the way it is!

    • @benharveyphotography
      @benharveyphotography  2 года назад +1

      Hello. Yes, even though they sent the light to me complimentary to review - I still had to pay import tax. I recently bought some other products from them and I recommended that they get some suppliers in the UK! Link to another video I have made here. ruclips.net/video/WuuYZ_USJz4/видео.html

    Is there any way of using a lumecube on a point and shoot camera? specifically on a g7x mark ii?

    • @benharveyphotography
      @benharveyphotography  4 года назад

      Hi Gober. The answer is yes. I just tried it out. But you have to fire the flash on your G7X and the Lume Cube (when set to optical slave) detects the canon flash and then fires. It stays on for about two seconds then goes off until it detects another flash. But remember it is a constant light, it’s not really in the same league as a flash in terms of power output - so it depends what you are trying to achieve with it?

    How would this lights work with a Gopro

    • @benharveyphotography
      @benharveyphotography  Год назад

      Hi, you would probably fit it to the hot shoe mount on the media mod or use some sort of Smallrig attachment to get the light slightly off to the side. If you are using a go pro for shooting in low light then you will definitely require some light. I have made a separate video talking about small portable lights that you might like. Any better than a flashlight?

    • @benharveyphotography
      @benharveyphotography  3 года назад

      Hi Jerry, I would say that they aren't comparable unless you find a torch/flashlight that had a tripod mount on it and a way of attaching white balance filters to the front of it. Plus the Lume Cube is rechargeable and connects to the app for complete remote control, and its waterproof.
