My set up! I’m a lefty and always had to share kits with right handed players. I would just move the ride and play open handed. Glad I learned this way.

Is it ok if i ask you questions about open handed playing ? I tried but my left hand, when it was on the hi hat felt pain

TeenYogn Pyanee why not. I’m not so experienced I have only been playing for a bit less than 2 years. My first questions would be how high is your hi-hat? Maybe try to have it lower. Billy Cobham is an example of very low HH while Chris Johnson for example has his much higher. It could also be a technique issue. Are you working on your left hand? Maybe you need to spend a few months to have your left hand catching up enough. My recommendation for that would be to do a lot of singles, doubles, and other exercises with your left hand alone AND other exercises where you use both hands but maybe do more “reps” with the left hand (as simple as LLLL LLLL RRRR or LLLL lrlrlrlr LLLL lrlrlrlr). Finally, one very experienced drummer told me to do more unisons (both sticks at the same time) to even out my hands. Let me know.
