I love my deck, but this looks fantastic, the screen, controllers, build quality, everything looks so worth the price tag, speciallly over the rog ally. Legion GO is more powerful, has a bigger screen and is easier to setup to play MW3 since Steam Deck doesnt let you run the game unless you install windows. The Legion Go already comes with Windows so the process is more straight forward.

Yes. My right one is actually chipped at the part where it latches onto the the tablet. It still latches on and stays but wiggles more than the left one. The wiggle isn’t as noticeable until I played in the car and realized how much it was wiggling from the bumps in the road lol. It came this way but I rather not return it for this reason risking getting another unit that’s faulty for some other worse reason. This is just the controller that’s detachable and I could replace later on if they sell separate controllers (hopefully in other colors) also it doesn’t affect me when playing stationary over a table or my lap as much.

I think your best options are the legion go or Ally. Windows right out of the box might be preferred here if you’re aiming to play call of duty. Also the other 2 are more powerful than the steam deck and steam deck OLED. But keep in mind playing MW3 on these devices could put your account under review because the anti cheat doesn’t know how to properly detect what device you’re using due to a number of factors. I’ve played a ton of call of duty on all my devices but it wasn’t until recently, that I faced issues with being shadow banned. My account is fine and I was not permanently banned but it’s just something to consider until it’s further addressed by devs. Play at your own risk. As for everything else you want to do, you should be able to everything you mentioned like connecting your headset if it’s Bluetooth, or has a USB dongle, playing cod using the same Xbox account, game streaming, playing with little latency etc. the legion go is my device of choice right now because of the bigger screen and high refresh rate. Playing shooters on the bigger screen compared to the Ally makes it easier to see and is more immersive. I’ve traveled with both, they can both achieve gaming away from home. Detaching the controllers from the legion go and simply having the tablet itself and a controller of your choice is a nice option to have as well. The kickstand is super useful and I found myself using that a lot. The Ally doesn’t fall short of performance but it’s really just a preference thing. It is however lighter and has an anti glare screen which is nice. But there’s a risk you could fry your sd card reader easily because of where it is on the system. Controllers and headsets can also be connected, game streaming works well, and the Ally has a more polished UI/Software that makes using windows and changing settings easier. This was just a quick overview based on my experiences. Keep in mind we all use our devices differently. Think about how you’ll actually be using this and what you might find more beneficial for your circumstances, and then make a choice. Hope I was able to help atleast a bit. Thanks for watching! @@ShotgunGuenni if you don’t want to buy the game again, you can stream the game off of your Xbox via the Xbox app on windows, yes your xbox needs to be on for this since call of duty is not a part of cloud gaming. And the game would be streaming directly from your system. I wouldn’t recommend this as the best experience but it’s an option. It does avoid the issue of potentially shadow banning your account. If you rebuy the game on Steam, you would just link your Xbox account and your Steam account to the same Activision account and play on that same account regardless of where you log in from. I legally purchased the game on Steam and have played using a Windows operating system. I played MW2 on the ROG Ally since the system was released early last year and have gone on to play warzone and MW3 as well (same on the legion go) The anti cheat issue with the handhelds is something that needs to be fixed by developers as it is technically not supposed to be an issue. ASUS themselves provide an optimization guide/article for MW2/Warzone for the Ally. So it’s not a matter of us playing against what is allowed. We aren’t doing anything wrong by buying or playing the game on a device that is intended to play the game. That is why our accounts are cleared after being put under review. Streaming the game is a safer bet for sure but like you said it kinda defeats the purpose of having a handheld powerhouse at your fingertips. Obviously you aren’t just limited to this game on the device either. There is the option to just stream this game specifically for safe measure if you don’t wanna take your chances. While still taking advantage of an Xbox game pass ultimate membership that you might already own, and/or the vast library of games on Steam that you might want to check out. As well as epic games and many other launchers you might want to try. There are so many free games to check out as well. Streaming games works really well depending on the game and you save a ton of battery life, but it’s not quite as impressive as running the game on the actual system. Since encountering the issue with COD, I’ve mainly either streamed it from my actual desktop pc or ps5. It’s a huge game file so it’s allowed me to download a bunch of other games in place of it 😂. I would personally take my chances and still play it on my handhelds in the future but that’s just because I’m a content creator and call of duty happens to be the most viewed game on this channel. If MW3/ Warzone is the whole reason for you to get a handheld I completely understand how this could be a deal breaker but I think it’s better you go into this space atleast knowing what to expect if you do indeed go through with getting one of these devices.

I am happy to help where i can. to answer your question about the wobble to the controllers, they are SUPPOSED to be fairly sturdy when properly attached to the device. My left controller has no notieceable wobble to it. The right one however, came defective out of the box, slightly chipped where it attaches to the device, making it notiecably wobbly especially when I played in a moving vehicle, i noticed it the most. I made peace with this defect since it is not affecting my overall experience and is a defect with the controller itself and not the actual tablet. When playing stationary Its not a big deal in terms of feeling a ton of wobble. My thought behind this, was that i would rather use the controller this way until they sell controllers seperately or make different colored controllers to replace it. I also did not want to go through the pain of returning the device and potentially getting one with other defects that could be more serious.
I’m not sure exactly what causes bans on the handhelds I’ve just heard a number of things that might be the cause but I’ve played cod on these handhelds for over a year now and never had any issues. I avoid any third party controller support programs, (HANDHELD COMPANION etc.) and I don’t touch any tdp settings or custom fan curves when playing cod. I also try to make sure nothing is running in background while I’m playing. Pretty simple precautions. Not sure what’s going on behind the scenes for these players to get banned but devs also need to implement something that lets the anti cheat know that handhelds are OK. Because there is no advantage when playing on these devices.
I’m in my honeymoon phase with the go. So obviously I’m more drawn to it right now but so far I prefer Armoury crate over legion space and the weight of the Ally is comforting and I can’t go wrong with performance on the Ally. But the giant screen on the GO is a game changer.
No plans on getting it anytime soon. But if I had it I would play it on there since I’ve tried it on the OG steam deck and it was great I’m sure the OLED would only be better.

Hey question I wanted to know if your having this problem ok so I have a 30000mah 65w battery bank and when I'm at 8% on the legion and the battery bank is at 100% I'm charging the legion go and it would show on the bank that it's charging but the legion won't pass 13% like it won't keep charging pass that even though the bank and the legion go both show that it's charging.....then the battery bank well hit 0% dead then I would like say forget it and turn off the legion go and turn it back on like prob 10min later and it would say 38% ???? Weird....what do you think?
That’s weird it seems like it’s draining your power bank first while retaining whatever charge you already had on the device. Which is normal for power banks when in use. Usually when the system is off though, the power bank will actually charge the system up. Now the power bank saying 0% and then the system saying you charged up to 38% idk about that one lol.
@Misaac yeah I know and I tested to while using the internet and it started give it juice but when I game play it stays in that same percentage without raising the percentage but with the Allies different this doesn't happen........ I was thinking that it's a CPU boost or a more wattage problem but I doubt it I feel like it could be a bug that could be fixed or something like that I know the Allies been out longer so they probably already fixed it but it doesn't have that problem but I don't know you tell me
It’s tough. I’m content with the performance from both but I really enjoy the bigger screen especially for fps games with the Legion Go. For portability and weight I’d say the Ally suits those needs better and performs just as great in games. I’m still in my honeymoon phase with the Legion GO so I could just be being bias since I haven’t had it for that long but I’m really enjoying it a lot right now. The lack of VRR to me hasn’t been an issue at all in games especially since I mostly enjoy playing at 800p so that the games can maintain a constant framerate. Spending more time with the 2 will allow me to see which I like more and why.
How do you play call of duty without taking the joycons off? Plz let me know i have trouble trying to figure this out I thought in order to play call of duty i had to detach the joycons to play but you dont but i have know idea how to play in just handheld mode like you are doing plz tell me how you did it.
Depends if you actually see yourself using a handheld device a lot or if a laptop is more convenient for your situation. If it’s strictly gaming and you feel like you can adapt to the comfort of a handheld, and actually care to keep up with the handheld and its updates, accessories, battery life etc then it makes sense. But if you see yourself using a laptop more with a controller plugged in or MnK, and are looking for something more powerful and straight forward, the laptop makes sense. What you play also needs to be taken into consideration. You just have to weigh out your options and realize how it is you like to game most and how you see yourself gaming in the future. I can’t decide for you.

The Lenovo is far better for my use case than the steam deck. But everyone is different and delending on what you play could make a big difference in people’s preference.
I feel like it maintains 80-90 fps while on 800p with FSR 2 set to quality. Everything else pretty much on low. You could probably get a little more with FSR set to balanced or performance and a little less if you’re on a higher resolution.

No I have not got banned. I’ve heard of people getting banned but I’ve been able to play with no issues and don’t use any third party software nor do I mess with fan curves to play this game which seems to be the issue with people getting banned.

Waited 2 hours at an airport terminal last Sunday. Time flew by while I played. Felt pretty portable to me.

Hey I have the rog ally and i was looking to see if you prefer to play on the go or the ally
I’m in my honeymoon phase with the go. So obviously I’m more drawn to it right now but so far I prefer Armoury crate over legion space and the weight of the Ally is comforting and I can’t go wrong with performance on the Ally. But the giant screen on the GO is a game changer.

I’ve done 1 amd graphics driver update since I got it but that was like 2 weeks ago
Did you have issues running this? Every time I launch it, it says the driver doesn't meet the recommended version
As long as you have latest AMD drivers from Lenovo you should be able to hit ignore on the message and proceed as normal.

Deadzones in steam controller settings and in game set to 0 make it much better.

No plans on getting it anytime soon. But if I had it I would play it on there since I’ve tried it on the OG steam deck and it was great I’m sure the OLED would only be better.

There is a 1TB model and 500Gb. How ever many you think you can fit on there. Depends on the games.

I’m not sure what the root cause for people getting banned is. Hopefully they address this in the future. So far I’ve been able to play with no issues.

Hey question I wanted to know if your having this problem ok so I have a 30000mah 65w battery bank and when I'm at 8% on the legion and the battery bank is at 100% I'm charging the legion go and it would show on the bank that it's charging but the legion won't pass 13% like it won't keep charging pass that even though the bank and the legion go both show that it's charging.....then the battery bank well hit 0% dead then I would like say forget it and turn off the legion go and turn it back on like prob 10min later and it would say 38% ???? Weird....what do you think?
That’s weird it seems like it’s draining your power bank first while retaining whatever charge you already had on the device. Which is normal for power banks when in use. Usually when the system is off though, the power bank will actually charge the system up. Now the power bank saying 0% and then the system saying you charged up to 38% idk about that one lol.
@Misaac yeah I know and I tested to while using the internet and it started give it juice but when I game play it stays in that same percentage without raising the percentage but with the Allies different this doesn't happen........ I was thinking that it's a CPU boost or a more wattage problem but I doubt it I feel like it could be a bug that could be fixed or something like that I know the Allies been out longer so they probably already fixed it but it doesn't have that problem but I don't know you tell me
Which would you rather have the ally or the go?
It’s tough. I’m content with the performance from both but I really enjoy the bigger screen especially for fps games with the Legion Go. For portability and weight I’d say the Ally suits those needs better and performs just as great in games. I’m still in my honeymoon phase with the Legion GO so I could just be being bias since I haven’t had it for that long but I’m really enjoying it a lot right now. The lack of VRR to me hasn’t been an issue at all in games especially since I mostly enjoy playing at 800p so that the games can maintain a constant framerate. Spending more time with the 2 will allow me to see which I like more and why.

How do you play call of duty without taking the joycons off? Plz let me know i have trouble trying to figure this out
I thought in order to play call of duty i had to detach the joycons to play but you dont but i have know idea how to play in just handheld mode like you are doing plz tell me how you did it.

Connect the Dualsense via windows Bluetooth settings then it appears on steam as well.

Depends if you actually see yourself using a handheld device a lot or if a laptop is more convenient for your situation. If it’s strictly gaming and you feel like you can adapt to the comfort of a handheld, and actually care to keep up with the handheld and its updates, accessories, battery life etc then it makes sense. But if you see yourself using a laptop more with a controller plugged in or MnK, and are looking for something more powerful and straight forward, the laptop makes sense. What you play also needs to be taken into consideration. You just have to weigh out your options and realize how it is you like to game most and how you see yourself gaming in the future. I can’t decide for you.

Not true. I haven’t experienced any game changing screen tear so far.

1.5-2 hrs. But I mostly plugged in anyway.

The Lenovo is far better for my use case than the steam deck. But everyone is different and delending on what you play could make a big difference in people’s preference.
How much fps do you average on mw3 and with what settings?
I feel like it maintains 80-90 fps while on 800p with FSR 2 set to quality. Everything else pretty much on low. You could probably get a little more with FSR set to balanced or performance and a little less if you’re on a higher resolution.

No I have not got banned. I’ve heard of people getting banned but I’ve been able to play with no issues and don’t use any third party software nor do I mess with fan curves to play this game which seems to be the issue with people getting banned.
