- One of the most rugged trucks of World War Two it was in service with the British and Germans and was used as a mobile church stop gap armoured truck for the RAF and in it's most famous roles as a wireless pontoon carrier and machinery truck to name but a few with production starting in 1937 it service in North Africa and the European theatres one of Leyland's best products during the war there are a few still on the road as we can see in this video.
Very few RUclipsrs make videos on WW2 trucks as they think it's boring well that's all about to change with my new series the first one of the year the real heroes were the trucks and the men who drove them enjoy :-) Chapters are below...

I wouldn't usually take photos of photos in books but there's next to nothing on the net there mostly Command body's
Really interesting
It took me so long to research and this is going to be a new series
@@andysvehiclehistorychannel lol 😂 love it I knew we made. Bunch of these trucks and alot of really wacky but fun stuff lol but wow really interesting... Going to have to solidify all our chats to one area lol 🤣 OMFG so much to say what's good
@@starship399 There's to much to talk about 🤣
How did you get into the war ?
@@andysvehiclehistorychannel history is fascinating every aspect of it. I don't know about you but when I see and hear the old men talk about what they took part in an doing a tear fills my eye and a sence a pride. But even the strokes from the Axis too. The first one that broke me was a tanker on what of the assault beaches I think in a Sherman and he broke down crying saying we had to keep moving forward we had to push forward on the beach where littered dead and wounded brothers an I still hear them screaming as my tank rolled over them there was nothing I could do we had to push forward those who where still fighting needed us up front. And that story broke my fucking heart.
If you do a video on the gordini I would be delighted! It's one of my favorites!
My friend Dieter Bolenski used have one in the for Outback rails what do you like about ?
@@andysvehiclehistorychannel I love the rear engine layout, it really makes it stand out in terms of it's dynamics.
@@CJ-gh4eh I told him I'll be doing the video for him just got to find info now I got a new book about Dunkirk yesterday so there will be some special videos coming in late May...
You obviously are passionate about Trucks. Keep up the great videos!!!!!!!!
I love trucks more then women I'm doing a new series about WW2 trucks but it's going to take so much research but can't wait!!! Saturday is one year of the channel I was going to do a video about the B P Defiant on Sunday but i'v just seen a book on e-bay that i'm buying next week so I'm going edit the 300 sub special about a very famous American aircraft of the war I will give you a clue it found the Bismarck 🇺🇲
Love your latest museum video like how you have fitted in all that info on all them aircraft in just over 10 minutes I was amazed at how the Beach 18 was used on a carrier as it hasn't got foldeding wings
@@andysvehiclehistorychannel I don't think the c45 was permanently stored on the aircraft carrier. I think it was flown on and off as needed either for the commander of the carrier or for supplies when they were close to shore basis. I agree that a non-folding wing aircraft in a crowded hangar would not make much sense
@@Republic_ofTexas That makes a lot of sense does it have a huck or did it rely on its slow speed on landing 🤔 I must say what a beautiful aircraft I hope you turn comments on one day your channel is getting better we want more from the museums keep it up
@@andysvehiclehistorychannel TY I did not know my comments were off. They are on now I hope :)
I am building a model of the Motor Church of St. George but this one was based on the AEC Marshal 644. I notice that the two trucks are quite similar, so I'm converting a Leyland Retriever kit. I was surprised an pleased to see your video showed another motor church based on the Retriever. Please could you let me know the source for that photo?
Hey Nigel I think that's a great idea making a mobile church I first saw an article in the very first Vintage Roadscenice magazine I bought in November 2010 some of the photos come from forums but the photo to do with the mobile church is from a great book published in 2013 called British Military Trucks in World War II by TankoGrad its a thick book but only has one photo of the church last time I knew it was £40 off Amazon but these books are getting harder to find i'd love to see your model when finished as I'm starting getting in to making kits in May and my first was going to be the Leyland Retriever from IMC but I was going to but a wireless body on it I'm going to look up the Marshal...
Have you dropped the new channel yet bro?
The gun channel not yet the first gun history will be the Bren hopefully that's coming in late March look out on this channel over the weekend as you will see one of your favourite aircraft 👍
@@andysvehiclehistorychannel man you know how to cater to your boy xD 🤣🤣 it's my birthday end of Feb but it feels like it's come early lol
@@starship399 When they have guns on you just got to include them right 😉
I was going to do your choice of aircraft on Sunday but i'v just found a good book to do with it so buying that next week it's a year of the channel on Saturday so we have a special video coming 😀
@@starship399 We like to keep our top fans happy 🍻
@@andysvehiclehistorychannel ah its first birthday!!! Well here's to many more Andy ☺️ and I can't wait for aload more videos
