Nice to see someone doing the conversion using more of the m16a sport motor components. I did a similar conversion but used the m16 block, m13 head, m16 cams. Your right about the timing gears being different, but you need to take this into account on the crank AND cam angle sensors. The m16 cams have a different timing gear compared to the m13. So that may be something you need to check. I didn’t know this at first and my jimny ran and drove but it was horrible. We eventually swapped over these gears on the cams as well and now I’m running the stock m13 ecu. You may also want to look for an m18 intake manifold. The runners are bigger as well as the TB opening. But love that you guys are running the m16 DBW tb. Feel free to pop me any questions you may have and I’ll be happy to help if I can.

Good work thanks for sharing. Could you please paste a link to the haltec ecu you used? Do you happen to know if the Swift sport motor could fit the gearbox of the older G13bb Jimny? I can get a 1999 Jimny that is overheating, and in my mind the only sensible thing to do is a conversion 🙂
Hey mate, don't think it'll fit a G13bb gearbox. Haltech elite 1500: www.haltech.com/product-category/ecu-universal-wiring-kits/elite-1500/ Only used the 1500 to have drive by wire. You can definitely use a 550 or something if you stick to cable throttle.
Sheesh, you guys took the difficult route.. 🤣.. We have done some m18a swops, and it is much much simpler than a Zc32s-m16a swop, with same power output and more torque.. However I would really like to see what you can get out of That motor with the haltech..
Yeah definitely took the hard road! But it was the ultimate solution I wanted. M18A doesn't have significantly more horsepower or torque and hoping with the Haltech will overtake it.
@@OutAboutOffroad Ye the haltech wil be a huge improvement over even a Stock Zc32s Ecu.. I like how they did the startup map for you over the phone and Anydesk.. now that is proper remote support.. something more of these ecu companies can start to do..
Hey Legends, I’ve got an ‘07 manual Jimny VVT and wanting to drop an M16a engine into it. Just wondering if you guys could advise on which motors will and won’t work? I’ve found an M16a out of an 09 Swift VVT - will this work? Also looking at an M16a out of an 03 Liana - which isn’t a VVT. Pulling my hair out trying to make sure I buy myself the engine that will be the easiest fit lol Any quick tips or point in the right direction would be so helpful! Thanks for the vids boys, they’re awesome btw!

Hey mate, yes timing wheel wasn't the same but matched a Suzuki K12 timing wheel and we tuned the TDC offset using a timing light to 447 degrees.
