Seems like almost everyone here loves this 50 year old film. And with good reason. It is a shining example of what films about wildlife can be. And considering the message that falls like a velvet sledge hammer at the end, it is even MORE relevant today as the fate of the wild world is even MORE in doubt today.

To this day, this is one of my all-time favorite films. I wish there were more movies like this today.

I ❤️❤️❤️ this movie. I was blown away when I first saw it. I bought it instantly. My favorite thing about it is the storytelling with little dialogue and stark landscapes.... yet it speaks volumes... see it people! Christmas music after Thanksgiving please.... 😆

I simply ADORE "Never Cry Wolf"! It is easily one of the best films Disney ever released. It is inexcusable, however, that this film hasn't seen a blu-ray home theater release.

Completely agree. Where is the blu ray already?!!!

The is one of my all-time favorite films. I was 12 or 13 when this film was released and being a "Disney film" we went to see it in the theater. I thought the film was amazing, even at that age. My sister, as I recall, giggled over the "bits" parts while missing the point entirely. As the years went on I more or less forgot about the film until one day around 1997 or 1998 I was flipping TV channels in the morning before leaving for work and out of nowhere was the very end of the film where Tyler and his friend were juggling, one of them was at least, and I said "THAT'S IT!" These were the pre-Amazon days, the dark days even before AltaVista and high speed home Internet. Figuring out the name of the film was challenge enough and once that was found buying a VHS copy was nigh on impossible but somehow I managed to find one for sale and when I did it was placed on the shelf with my most favorite films ever. The VHS tape went the way of Old Yeller years ago but its replacement DVD is in my collection in its rightful place. My biggest hope for this film is the master film reels are somewhere properly preserved and archived. If that is the case maybe, just maybe, we can get a proper high-definition transfer to Blu-Ray, one where all the dust has been removed from the shots that somehow made it to DVD. What a treat that would be.

This is such a fantastic story. What a great journey with this movie you've had. I HOPE they put it out on Blu-Ray!!! That'd be AWESOME! It truly is unlike any other film they've made.

You need to talk faster, maybe you could get a job as the person who rattles off the legal disclaimers before a commercial starts.
I had Never Cry Wolf on VHS and watched it 6 or 8 times. Loved it. I've heard it called "The best 1980s movie you've never heard of."

My favorite part of the movie is when he falls through the ice but doesn’t quite move until he reaches the bottom. Another scene is hilarious when he falls backwards because his backpack is too heavy. He kind of reminds me of Chris Farley, Tyler is drinking, falling but we are always rooting for him.

Well, I am sort of forced to hear Christmas music after Halloween cuz of my mom, but normally for myself I'll wait till after Thanksgiving....but I also don't listen to it a lot? I love it but I forget to turn it on? :D
OMG THEY WERE PANTING AND SMILING AND THEN THE CHICKENS.
but weird!!! The nudity is crazy to hear about O.o
But those establishing shots you showed were beautiful!!

I'll only accept Christmas music on Dec 1. October is Halloween. December is Christmas. November is my birthday and also leftover Halloween.
