He also questioned the proportionality of Israel’s response to the attack by Palestinian fighters on 7 October and voiced doubts over Israel’s plans for Gaza after the war.

They control electricity lines, the underwater cable that phone calls are placed on, the network that provides internet, and the frequencies assigned to Palestinian cell phone companies.
There's a reason why Human Rights Watch, the International Committee of the Red Cross, the UN and Israel's own leading expert on international law, professor Yoram Dinstein of Tel Aviv University, all agree that Gaza is _still_ occupied by Israel, and is therefore responsible for its population. Hamas is misogynistic? As an American Christian watching the news and footage from afar, I don’t recall observing misogyny. I don’t know if Hamas is misogynistic, or not; however, I am curious as to how Piers came to that conclusion. Either way, it is a dismissive way to describe Hamas. It would be equivalent to Piers describing some feminist organization as misandristic to dismiss whatever it is that organization is fighting to bring attention to. Piers calling Hamas misogynistic seems like a cheap shot. It seems to me that Piers is grudgingly inching over to the Palestinian cause so that he isn’t caught on the wrong side of history. It is his image he cares about - not Palestinian justice or well being.

Another comparison I've heard is that more bombs have been dropped over Gaza in 3 months than over several years in Aleppo at the height of the civil war. And if I recall there were quite a few American politicians on both sides of the aisle, as well as from other countries calling for a military intervention to prevent Assad from killing his own people. Or what about Kosovo when we did actually intervene? That was an even more similar situation, bombings and mass shootings of civilians, cutting off access to food and water, forced ethnic displacement, concentration of an ethnic population into a particular geographic area, the works. That conflict lasted for a 1 year and 3 months and an estimated 11,000 civilians were killed. Israel has killed that many in 3 months.
Israel is doing the same thing as the Serbians but at a larger scale and with even more explicitly genocidal rhetoric and no attempt to hide what they're doing, and the response from the US and the west is not only to ignore it, but continue to send aid and maintain diplomatic relations with them. It should really concern any voter in these countries that our leaders are ready to actually kill people to prevent a genocide like they did in the case of Kosovo, but won't even verbally condemn Israel.

Israel never wanted the Palestinians to have their own state even though through the participation Israel was "planted" on land where 70% of the people who lived there were Arabic. The sacrifice of at least 25,000 human beings, not counting possibly 7,000 under rubble, must result in the state of Palestine and return of land stolen since at least the 1967 war.

This is why more people who are unquestioningly pro-Israel need to be exposed to pro-Palestinian activists. Piers was incredibly pro-Israel and unquestioning over whether Israel was doing the right thing prior to his several interviews with others who were supporting of the Palestinian people but since then there has been a drastic change in his tone, framing and questioning on this situation and while not perfect it shows a huge change overall.
