Fully aware that I could be 100% wrong. My understanding is that unless a teaching is ex-Cathedra, and there have been only 2, and they were about Marian doctrines, no Pope can *unilaterally* bind his successor in any other way. So how can future Popes be bound with regards to the TLM unless it was an ex-Cathedra statement? This is specifically in the context of Pope Pius 5th and Quo Primum. My understanding is that Quo Primum is NOT an ex-cathedra document/teaching, so how it is it possible to say or imply that it is binding upon all future Popes since 1570?
If we really want to help do something about this, the best way to help is by becoming holy and focusing on our own defects, our own shortcomings, and the ways that we ourselves break the Lord's heart. Let's focus on how we ourselves fall short and work on fixing that.
