I love the way Jimi is looking at Pete and that awesome pedal haha
Me clicking on video: Not a big fan of fuzz pedals.
Me 10 seconds in: Big fan of Pete playing through a fuzz pedal.
I agree
Now I know why every company loves to have you demo their gear - No matter what it is, you make it sound awesome.
I love that I was sitting in the food court of Sweetwater at Gearfest and noticed Pete was a couple tables over eating as well. 3 seconds later I opened my phone and bam a new video from Pete. Crazy 21st century stuff happening there.
“Kinda just not too cool.” I think that’s one of my favorite phrases now.
There's nothing like a great germanium fuzz.
Man, what a cool pedal! And also a great video, as always! That fuzz + treble booster setting was just magic.
Wow that sounds fantastic! That range master + fuzz has me excited. 😮
My Crazy Tube Circuits Constellation has been delivered today. I played with it for a couple of hours in combination with my 1987X now, and I already love this pedal.
Not only the excitement it adds to the glassy clean tone is amazing. Once set it, I kept the gain settings and volume settings on pedal and guitar to the same level, stayed on the neck pickup and just turned the knob to 2:Tone Bender MkII and here we go. This slightly broken sounding tone that reacts to every, even ever so subtle move of my fingers jumped out of my cab. Awesome! I love it.
Thanks for pointing my toward this great pedal!
SUCH AN AWESOME TRACK TO DEMO THE PEDAL!!!! Super tasteful and discerning playing - a big inspiration PT!
Been waiting for this one. Sounds killer!
You can also get the glassy highs from a silicon transistor fuzz face, but the fuzz will impart a slight overdrive with the guitar volume rolled back. Germanium transistors in a fuzz are usually lower gain :)
If you use humbuckers a silicon fuzz might be easier to work with fwiw
I SO want a Constellation Fuzz! Thanks again Pete.
Some very cool (and unexpected) harmony parts in there. Very nice pedal and tune.
Another great video. Great playing. Great examples. Table vice👍
Always happy to see the 335 make an appearance. Such a great sounding guitar.
Great play Pete thorn! cheers to you!
Good Sounds! Fantastic Riffs!!
Dude, I always look forward to Pete's pedal reviews; the tunes he creates are always super cool and pretty badass. Thanks for the inspiration Pete!
Thank you Scott!
Gorgeous sounds!!! Fuzz and Brian May tones. I need one
I bought it. They didn't say I had to learn to play it like you to sound so good !
Simply the best my lawd! Loved that harmonized walk up
Love the jam, PT.
A prime example of why I subscribed to this channel!
Hey Pete. Great demo once again. Love the Brian May vibes in your tune. Very sweet...!
Nice video Pete - I'm impressed, so I just bought one of these.
I love the clamp - what a simple solution to getting a good PIP of a pedal where you can still get your hands on it! I’ve used a music stand in the past. Love the unobtrusive aspect to that! I just got a 5x7 green screen panel which I plan to get stupid with. I’ll likely overuse it at first - like when you get your first chorus pedal and it’s also the 80’s. 😜
Pete, you're an excellent salesman lol. Super duper playing, looking forward to the next post :)
I have this pedal and it's like a palette of all the London fuzz colours. Really inspiring.
Love that playing and tone. You are a rockstar. It was great to see you at Gearfest, today.
Great to be there, it was a fun event! Thanks!
Jesus Christ man. Your intro to videos is Platinum album worthy material.
Man that awesome part you played at the end on the 335 totally reminded me of the eagles. Totally awesome man! I’m sold on this pedal!
These are my kind of fuzz tones. I don't like losing the pick attack or have a muddy sound. Great demo, too! Oh, and thanks again for Strat neck pickup clean tone trick. I'll probably pick up a germ fuzz eventually and give this a try.
Sounds like someone has been listening to the old MMM theme from Sydney radio.... great sounding pedal and playing.... awesome stuff Pete.
What a rippin' tune for this demo!
This video is exactly why you are known and respected as guitar player / a go to musician / artist . The playing and sounds in this video ... wow is all i can say, except can you give me some lessons ( no seriously ) lol 😉 🤘🤘
Noice!!! I love this pedal... Love It... L O V E I T.... LOVE IT!!! Your Demos are "Fantabulous!"
Great new video Pete!!! Also Congrats on becoming a fellow US Citizen!!!
the tone bender was killer, just saw you at Gearfest about 10 min ago ha ; )
Superb playing Pete - I can't believe I missed this video over a year ago!
Thank you!
That song is killer!!! The pedal sounds amazing but I keep asking myself if I really need another fuzz pedal. The answer, of course, is yes.
That sounds so damn good!
Jeezus dude! Do you ever run out of musical ideas? Another great video!
5:07 Yes! germanium fuzz and volume knob is supposed to be a secret! Kidding, but Its crazy when one realizes this . The mxr Hendrix Fuzz Face germanium is great. This constellation uses the same transistor as a RM style pedal prototype I received from Tony Iommis guitar tech Mike Clement in 2014. "RM3v". 3 position switch and a volume knob. A great boost from a great guy! I thought it was going to be just Sabbath tone, but its more! This is on my list, now. Thanks Pete!
That harmonized lead is killer sounding Pete! Good stuff!
Thanks!!
@@PeteThorn hello pete can i use this tune i wanna make a cover for this song!this is so good in my ear
Ok, just placed my order!
Best song yet! Amazing Pete! You always make a pedal sound amazing and making me broke! Ha! It’s like a Fuzz version of the JHS bonsai!
Henry 562 JHS already have the Muffuletta that’s more like the Bonzai but for Muff style fuzz :)
I have the constellation CV 7003 I just got, and a couple other name brand Boutique multi-fuzz units. I am set. I believe the distortion some are looking for is A fuzz turned low, like a distortion sound.
Killer harmony lines!
I say don't like fuzz but you always set them up cool and make me rethink it.
Hey Pete. JUST ordered a 2nd one of these for my fly board, ha ha ha. I'm that guy with just 1 fuzz, and you're right... it's fun*ing KILLS!
I just bought a king tone germanium fuzz that's out of this world but I'm still gonna buy this. I am a germanium junkie.
Legend
You just made me buy one !
I came into two fuzzes today, an analogman NKT red dot germanium, and a roger mayer voodoo-axe classic, which i think is silicon. My roger mayer octavia has a fuzz section in the circuit too. I'm all fuzzed out right now.
Came for the pedal demo, stayed for the earrings.. cute!
Cool pedal! Wonder if these are available only direct from Crazy Tube Circuits? Great demo as always Pete.... you hurt my bank dude ; )
Very cool demo of a very cool pedal...reminds me when the gain is rolled back some of my Diaz TX Ranger that has a germanium/silicon circuit Awesome representation Pete Good stuff and love the instrumentals......was wondering if you can run 2 germanium pedals up front next to the guitar w/o any issues ? Thanks Tone Man..
Awesome intro tune - like Queen meets QOTSA!
Vox, Mk1.5 and mk 2 in one pedal, nice! No mk 1 though which is such a cool fuzz tone.
Holy sh*t, Pete... That intro song RUUUULES!
ur just too good
Thanks for the awesome video where I found my current new fuzz favorite which also includes the treble booster I want. NOTE 10:12 DOES your GUIT just go to the Constellation via a buffered TC tuner? Is the buffer turned off because it interferes with the operation of a traditional fuzz? Or is there a Constellation "Fuzz" that needs to be seen electronically directly on the guitar's microphones to work best, as you mentioned somewhere? It would also be interesting to know which transistors have been used in the position of the selector switch for different fuzzies? Thanks for the great information! Cheers!
Badass track :D!!!!
I'm a strat/tele guy. I like my muff with very light fuzz, if any at all.
Cool intro tune!!!!
I am in love with the tone you get cleaning the pedal...which pickups r u using? And amp if you don't mind...That's the tone I am desperatly searching for...thx a lot :3
That's the Paul Gilbert sound. He's a fuzz player. I want one! Thanks
wow!
The DRM treble boost probably sounds great in front of the top boost on an AC30 with Alnicos.
Maybe some day..But I love this pedal!
my favourite settings of this pedal are rangemaster and rangemaster + fuzz
Now that intro was fucking magic!!
Nice tones, but the sound that really caught my ear was that bass. Warwick huh? I want a fuzz and and treble booster and this kills two birds with one stone. But I also want to build those pedals as beginner projects, because I just got a Captor and want to build amp heads to run into it. Trouble is that all the parts have to be imported. Down side of living in NZ. Not many of those but that is one of them.
Great stuff as usual Pete. Hey, what is that cool contraption you're using to hold the pedals for your demos?
It’s just a wacky c clamp kinda thing!
Really great double lead sound in the intro song!!! Not a big fan of fuzz either, but stayed for the show...
Wow! I really like the JHS Muffuletta (which I own), but I think I like this even better! Each mode sounds a little more distinct, and probably a little more usable live, to my ear.
youre comparing two things that have nothing to do with each other
@@chrise.3814 silly me; you’re right.
How dare I compare two guitar pedals.
Furthermore, how dare I compare two fuzzes.
And further, how dare I compare two multi-mode fuzzes! Oh, the HUMANITY!
😂😂😂😂😂
What a great composition...feel/groove/rock for days...RMFF setting sounded killer...may have to look into this one 🤔
Killer... Queen
@@JohnShalamskas like gunpowder and gelatin
Hi Pete !
Do you think this pedal would sound any good in front of a Fender Twin ? You demonstrated with a Marshall, I wondered if you did that trick where the Amp's edge of break up setting helps make the pedal sound great, and wondered if that works with a Fender Twin as well.
Pete is that tone an IR? Or is your cab micd there behind you with a Royer?
Pete is wearing me down on the Macmull guitar. I think they’re too expensive, but man they’re cool and sound great.
Buy a Suhr instead?
Sounds great. And how do you keep your hair to stay so perfect. Haha.
Yessir!!!
debut outing for the Warwick bass??? :)
Hey Pete,
apologies if you’ve already answered this, but were all the sound clips coming via the ox? Btw I’ve ordered my constellation..... you’re to blame; or thank? Cheers
Now THAT is a demo song!
I love that crazy pedal stand, Pete! What's that made from?
I think it's a Panavise brand swivel clamp.
Around the 9:13 mark, is that two guitars playing off each other, or is that a pedal setting?
mk2 mode awesome !!!
Love that sound! Pete how do you get that echo type tone right at the end of the video? Is it a pedal, two amps? I must know!
I think it was a delay I added in the OX!
@@PeteThorn well ive got a RM clone and a fuzzface into an AC30, now i'm going to spend all day with my DL-6 delay to get that perfect sound. Thats the lead tone i want!
For me, there doesn’t seem to be a lot of single note sustain on this pedal and the fuzz seems to fade out to a clean tone fairly quickly. Perhaps this is due to the germanium needing to be at the right temperature?
Hi Pete, does this also work (soundwise: glassy high's) with HB's when you roll the volume down?
@@JohnShalamskas ok,thx !!
Was anyone else reminded of old Nintendo game music around the 9:20 mark? Crazy fun.
What Marshall amp are using in this?
Hi Pete, I have a quick question. The Constellation requires a positive-ground power supply and on my pedal board all other pedals are powered by a daisy-chained negative-ground power supply. Would it work if I use a reverse polarity adapter cable on my daisy chain?
Well, to anyone that's interested in purchasing the Constellation you should know that it requires its own isolated supply; coming either from a multi-power supply brick or its own ac adapter. The reverse polarity adapter I mentioned in my original post will not work, neither will a daisy-chain connection. In fact, it may damage the pedal. Oh, and you can always use a 9V battery ;-)
Fucking great
Seems a bit difficult to purchase a COnstellation in the USA. Expensive too. Would a Fulltone Germanaine Fuzz (Fulltone 69 MKII) have the same result as the Constellation? Specifically the feature where you rollback the volume to get the Hendrix tone. Thanks. Great Vid.
The 69 MK II does a fantastic job with the volume rollback clean up just like this one, you'll get great results
that macmull tele is THICC!
Hey Pete! I just bought my Constellation Fuzz and wanted to get your opinion on using it with a buffer pedal. In your experience, should I avoid placing a buffer before the Constellation Fuzz or will this particular fuzz be okay with a buffer before it?
Thanks for your help!
I’d probably put buffer after
Pete Thorn Thanks Pete!
You need to try the treble booster on your voice tone...it will help you cut through the mix 😂
