  • The Hi-Spra adjustable brass full circle pop up sprinkler was marketed as part of a DIY sprinkler system kit in the mid-1950’s.
The Whittier, California manufacturer supported resellers around the country with a kit that included pipe, fittings, and sprinklers designed to cover 1200 square feet of lawn for well under $100.
The company, one of many marketing such a kit, seems to disappear after 1956. Hope you enjoy the video, and thanks for watching.

What a cool head !! I like the slow motion shots , the amount of water coming out in a perfect dish like pattern is really something. They obviously didnt care about runoff and low precipitation rates in the 50s!! Great find and as always great video Bill !

Nice brass spray head! I have never heard of that company before! There were so many sprinkler head manufacturers back in the day and this just adds to that list.
Thanks for sharing the history of this company and posting this nice video of its operation for all to enjoy!…

Thank you. A complete list of companies that manufactured sprinklers in the US would be much longer than I thought a few years ago.

Great video and information. The brass sprinkler worked perfectly and I am always surprised that the spray head designs really do not vary much. The pop up idea though certainly was smart.

There is no German Tuesday jet video yet. Although I have found some suitable Tuesday jets in the meantime.
Your slow motion sequences are great and of course I also see you hiding your boring jets between colorful flowers. We call this plant "Sonnenhut" in Germany. Keep up the good work! This is great cinema.

Sonnenhut is a great name for those. Sunbathing Cap? Unfortunately, my engineering shortened the life of the swing joint under the quick coupler I use during warm weather as the water source for my videos. So, I had to change sources. Laziness around carrying stuff to the traditional location created the homage to what we call Purple Cone Flowers or more prosaically, echinacea.
