The spindles are more robust because the connection to the Chuck a lot bigger at least on our machines the haas has a 5” connection for a 10” chuck and the okuma has 8” even our smaller 6” chuck machine has a bigger connection.
Seems weird that just a turning cut, would cause 47 percent spindle load, in I know it's not milli g tiny cutts, but don't okuma have A.C. drives, which are much weaker than Dc drives?
Not only tool wear also if the tool do not feed into the part and cut it can alarm since there will be no load on spindle and operator knows the part is defected/missized. I think to use for this purpose.
