I think you did the right level of resto on that lower trim piece. Glad you’ll have the pipes on during break in so it will be “quiet”. Yeah right!

After some poking around I found the proper HW kit. Uses T headed bolts that slip into the slots on the frame. You twist them 90 degrees so the hold inside the frame and then just tighten it all down. Very simply.
