Don’t park your Hyundai Kona EV inside because it could catch fire
Hyundai is recalling more than 80,000 EVs over battery fire concerns
The US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration issued a recall for 2019-2020 Hyundai Kona and 2020 Hyundai Ioniq electric vehicles after over a dozen battery fires were reported. The agency is also warning owners against parking their vehicles near their homes or any flammable structure.
An electrical short in the Kona’s lithium-ion battery cells increases the risk of fire while parked, charging, and driving, NHTSA said, adding, “The safest place to park them is outside and away from homes and other structures.”

And....... the battery is cooled in the Kona, giving a much longer life, particularly for fast charging.

Very true. Plus the new generation of Hyundai and Kia's EVs can charge at rates as high as 350kW.

62KWH and that's not usable unlike Hyundai's 64KWh which is all usable... The leaf is just so out dated but After incentives I can get the top SL plus model for $26,000

Your right Brian, the lead is actually a nice driving car, quiet, comfortable ride, low noise and nice seats. It is a hatchback so it's seating is lower but I find the door opening to be bigger than the kona .for entering and exiting.

Thing is no one is going to buy these, just a small percentage of people.
They need to make them so the average person can afford them.
