Svbony stuff is of a very high quality. No questions asked. I own some of thier stuff myself. i.e. scopes, cameras etc. and plan to buy more as they are great. I can compare it to other top brands as also own these. But come on man, visual requires big apertures, planets require big apertures. DSOs require low F ratio (and ideally big apertures) This is technically a planetary telescope but you will not fish out much details with it as it's only 105mm. I'm not questioning the built quality as it's definitely amazing. All I'm saying is it is a small planetary telescope that can't produce great results as due to it's size. I get that you are paid for the reviews but please make it accurate, not just fluffy talk without any comparison to serious equipment or at least similar spec stuff. Show us the results compared to appropriate equipment required for this part of astrophotography. A 'talk through the manual' review is not a review. I love your processing videos and learnt a lot from them. Keep doing them as we love seeing these
Recently bought one of these. I like it. I use an SvBony SV305 70ED for broad celestial photography and will be using this optical tube for lunar and planetary work.
Love my MAKS and Svbony are really underrated i have a few cameras and guide scopes from them and they are just as good if not better than some big name brands 5 years in at the price point
Would love to have seen an in depth review this did sound like more a fluff piece with zero evidence apart from how much you love it. Would love to see some images taken with this scope it does look pretty, Does SVbony make larger aperture scopes like this?
The focuser is entirely too loose and you find yourself going back a forth and hope it doesn’t move when you take your fingers off. I fixed mine by removing the knob, putting a small o-ring around the bottom of the shaft and push the knob firmly against it while tightening it down. Now it works perfectly.
I have the Sky Watcher 102 and 127 Maksutov. I used the 102 f12.9 to look at C80 the Omega Centauri glob cluster with a 26mm 62° afov. It is a good scope and C80 came in really well. I switched to a Baader 18mm Orthoscopic at 72x and the cluster filled out the view and you could make out a few individual stars, but not many just the brightest ones. Not too bad for something 17,000 lightyears away and my 127 Mak was a little better, but that's to be expected with the extra aperture. I used my biggest Orthoscopic a Fujiyama 25mm at 60x. Who says you can't use an ortho eyepiece on deep sky? Orthos work well on planetary, splitting stars and glob clusters as long as you use the larger ones, but a 6mm is too dim except on bright planets and the Moon. I live at 32° North Latitude and now at the end of July, the Omega Centauri globular Cluster is now less than 5° above the horizon by 21:15 and you need to be up on a hill to get a good view. If you can call looking through all that dusty atmosphere a good view. It barely rises above 10° as it is even in April, May or March if you want to stay up until 3AM. I would love to see the night sky from Australia, away from the cities of course.
I really like this little scope, too. My only complaint is a little bit of mirror flop compared to Sky-Watcher Sky Max 150 - at 3 times the price. This scope is fun and a great value. Highly recommended!
I bought one of those Maks. It was clearly inferior to an Meade ETX 90mm I had except in light-gathering. The images exhibited poor sharpness and contrast. It was tested under a number of conditions, the night sky and terrestrially. Building a Mak like that and selling it for $249 and expecting it to be good was clearly not possible. I've since gotten an older 4 inch Orion Mak (red tube) and it is FAR better than the SvBony unit was. On top of that, they bolted down the finder bracket so tightly, it was bent and wouldn't take a regular finder bracket, I had to replace it. I informed SvBony (bought direct) about it, they said it was "within their specification."

Ahh, the Meade ETX90. An amazing telescope. Served me well for many years.

Use AS120mm mini. This is a good camera for planetary work.
