- These are some of my first thoughts and impression with the Maksutov-Cassegrain made by SVBONY. It seams like I am always impressed with the focuser and mechanics as far as assembly go. Stay tuned for my full review on this scope. Also the links to print the dew shield and focusing mask here bellow.

Just subscribed, like your style very much, easy to listen to and good knowledge. Thinking of buying the SvBony Mak so looking forward to your next video, keep up the good work.
Thank you!
New subscriber! Thanks for the review! Not many on YT for the MK105. Glad i found yours! I did end up ordering the scope after much research.
Really appreciate the dew shield! Im going to print it today! Is this your design? Wondering so i can follow on thingiverse. Thanks again!
There was another design done by someone else but I have made my own now that is longer and has internal baffles.
Excellent video
I just one of these... like you it's only the basic OTA. Hope it is light as I think it will be because I plan on setting it atop an EQ-2 mount.
Yes its not heavy.
I think the MK105 is f/13 and not f/14 as stated in the video. I could be wrong.
You are right. Wonder how I did that flub.
I got one, F/13.
So I have a question. Are you going to get your hands on the 5" triplet from SVBony? It looks interesting for lager galaxy and cluster photos
Yes I do intend to. In fact I might buy it.
What are the dimensions on the shroud, found I guy in eBay the will make me one. Rather get it from you, but, I gather I got get it done somehow. Thanks. James
Would love to get the shroud you made for it. I just bought one. I’m a newbie at telescopes and I’m ancient. That been said, I am a fast learner and pick up things quickly. Any advice and or suggestions you can send me way, I be very grateful. Thanks, James
I just printed one out for you. I'll list it on Ebay. The most expensive part will be the shipping of it.
Ok, how much I owe you?
I’m ready to purchase it. How and when ready. Please advise. Thanks
I guess a cheap 70/900 mm F13 achromat would perform better than the 105 mm Maksutov.
FL is still to short for what a Mak does.
I saw a rising cam connected to ASI AIR. How is that possible? can you share about how you do it?
The older Aisiar Pro (not the Asiair Plus) can be modded with a special operating system to work with any camera.
I am using Indigo Sky. It s pretty plug and play. Power bus still works to though I have not figured out how to regulate dew heaters through it yet. Its a work in progress.
@@Neanderthal75 how can this be done?
It sucks that asi air plus won't support rising cam anymore. Their cameras are so much cheaper than zwo ones with same sensor
@@druidfoeva There are other controllers out there that work on a Pi.
Would this scope be a good galaxy scope as well as the other things you listed in your previous video when you received the scope? Ive been strongly considering purchasing this scope and your opinion has always been very valuable to me and my gear choice.
Not sure about galaxy work. it's possible for sure though its a bit slow for that kind of work. You would defiantly need a mono camera for it. In short not ideal for it but it will do it.
@@TheNarrowbandChannel hmm I’ve got the Sv405CC, do you think any reducers would work with it?
@@TheNarrowbandChannel also would you recommend a non specific Celestron 6” SCT? Instead? I can’t find the specific model for it but I could get it for $100 cheaper
@@KaidenBainAstro I think Celestron scopes are ugly. But that is just my artistic bent talking. :)
An SCT would actually be more ideal for galaxies because they are a little faster. Typically around f10 and they often have focal reducers available for them.
@@KaidenBainAstro I do not know of any. Man scopes do not really have any optical imperfections to speak of so the reducer corrected market for them is quite small if there is even one.
no video of first light?
Sorry not yet. In the review there will be.
Will this telescope be suitable for observing objects in deep space?
Yes. For sure.
Hope it's ok to ask? 😬
How long is it safe to shoot the sun, with 15 stop nd filter? It's kind of boring only getting the spots on the sun 😬 can I get some more details with the om-1, oly 100-400mm and 15 stop filter?
I would not advise it. The lens has a lot of plastic and the sun gets the inside of the optics quite hot. Could melt the lens or warp things inside. Solar film that is used for these usually reduces light by a factor of 100,000:1 so a 15 stop is no where near enough.
@@TheNarrowbandChannel so stick to the fast single burst and eclipse shots? It's the nisi eclipse filter I bought for the last eclipse.
@@bamsemh1 use a baader solar film. If you really want to go deep into solar imaging, get a dedicated solar setup such as the lunt h-alpha scope or Daystar quark.
I am a fan of the glass solar film plates. They are protected from possible damage. Film seams so delicate to me.
@@TheNarrowbandChannel I agree. I accidentally dented my solar film while I was attaching it my hand slipped and my finger lightly scratched it. That's why you need to be more careful when handling it.
