I find some of the comments "absurd" for want of a better word........ so ill informed and unpleasant.When Israel launched it's attack on Gaza after October the 7th ( not the biggining of the conflict which goes back many years) I thought......a week maximum that the rest of the world would let this out of all proportion supposedly in the name of "self defense".........this in itself arguable........ onslaught........ It is mildly refreshing to witness an UK main stream news channel trying to have a more open interview about the fate of Palestine. However, what was sadly lacking was a Palestinian voice!! To allow the narrative from the Israeli interviewee that 7th October 2023 has been the only atrocity this past 10 months was offensive. We could start with similar atrocities by Israel against Palestine day by day for decades before that date and after that date to the present day. As to the American Interviewee, America seems to be run by the Israeli Lobby! The Baker Institute hosted the conference ‘Israel at 75’ in April last year! America supports ‘Israel’s right to defend itself’ but what about the right of Palestine to defend itself? One can’t have selective international rights… dished out by the US!!! The Beijing Declaration seems to hold more promise of progress. However, China is seen as a threat by Israel (and by default the US) as its corridors of power and education are not so easily infiltrated as has been the case in the US. As to the call by the US ‘to bring this war to a close’… there is no war. There is only one atrocity after another by an occupying force (Israel) against an legitimately resisting occupied people (the Palestinians). As to ‘the challenge posed by Iran and Hezbollah’, mentioned by Mr Satterfield, let us not forget that Israel has goaded these parties by its recent aggressive action in order to bring its satellite state (the US) into the conflict… Sadly this ploy appears to be working. Biden, a committed Christian Zionist, may want this as his demented swansong.

Israel control all food going into Gaza and before Oct 7th, the citizens of Gaza were put on a low calorie diet on purpose. Maybe do some damn research. Israel controls Gaza by land,air and sea. Gaza has no airport because Israel bombed it and destroyed it. Gazan fisherman can only fish a few miles off Gaza's coast and if they travel out any further, the IDF will shoot them. During the great march of return in 2018 to 2019 where 50k Gazans would walk up to the military fence every weekend for months and protest peacefully that they want to return to their original towns and land , the idf would shoot them. 220+ were killed(men,women and children) and thousands were injured. Each time Israel raided Gaza to "mow the lawn", they would bomb infrastructure for no reason and thousands would be killed each time. The fact that no one can leave Gaza to visit their families in the west bank, neighbouring counties and around the world, and for all the reasons I just stated, means gazens are occupied.
