The perfect blend of Lisztian spirit, and Bachian conception at the core of the Fantasia Contrappuntistica is incredibly developed here, from the masterly hands and mind of Maestro S.I. Bartoli, recreating the complex atmosphere of the mephistophelic idealism typical of late- romanticism, towards the conquests of the New Era in Music... Pianistic writing is astonishingly effective and seductive, capable to transform Music in a sort of aestethic mixture of emotions and imaginative use of our senses, with a strong flavour of freedom and, at the same time, of trascendent abilities...wonderful performance, very sensual but also clever in the explanation of the difficult musical message. Thanks to Brilliant, and congratulations to Maestro Bartoli.
The sixth Elegy ends with the final recurrence of the first one's main theme, this time with a different harmonisation, bringing the whole set (of the original 6) to a satisfying close. I wonder why Bartoli leaves those final couple of bars out...?
I've got a feeling, he is playing BACH backwards, honestly!!! Nice work on Bach's arrangements, but own music is really a bit backwards, Bach-backwards

The Piano Concerto was written first.

il tedesco empolese Busoni non è molto eseguito ed amato in Italia,mi chiedo il motivo.
