I’m partial to my Domane+ with the Fazua motor and battery cartridge. It’s well integrated into the down tube so it looks like a regular road bike. It has more torque. Easy to charge the battery indoors or in your car. You can remove the motor/battery cartridge and replace it with an aluminum shell, and it becomes a regular bicycle. And when the time comes to get a new battery or to just have an extra battery to increase your range, you just order one.
Last month I tried to purchase a 52cm Domane+ in carbon. I wanted a 1x12 configuration and a bright color. Unfortunately the SLR 7 AXS and SLR 6 ASX were both unavailable in my size and color. I tired 2 different dealers in my area and they both said 4-5 months lead-time. I purchased an aluminum Checkpoint instead and I love it, but I wish I could have bought a Domane+.
The Australian Version is locked to 25kmh assist, How do I unlock it to American speeds? I don't care about local legalities and insurances, I'll take that risk. thanks! :)
I was hoping that Trek would put the new TQ motor in one of their road bikes. This would be a great replacement for my trusty Giant Defy Advanced Pro 0.
I look forward to getting one, but I have a pet peeve of calling non-ebikes "acoustic". As a guitar player, I cringe when I hear that. Maybe "standard" instead?
Not available for 120 days? Display on the top tube as a sweat collector and eliminating the use a top tube bag. Non-removeable battery is a poor choice for security/anti-theft, and commuters who need to remove the battery to charge it. Otherwise, this looks like a really nice bike (that no one can buy?)
Ok first of all, nothing is really available on demand right now due to the way the industry is working. Second, this bike isn’t designed for people who are using it to commute or put a bunch of bags all over it. It’s target audience is mainly people who are older/less fit or cannot ride a normal road bike for whatever reason. It’s a recreational “toy” and not a tool. I have a friend who used to ride a Madone about 10 years ago but he’s getting older now and just can’t ride as quickly as he used to. He got the last version of this bike when it came out and now he can keep up with the group rides and go around at a decent speed but there’s no loud motor noises and it still feels like a regular bike as you’re going along. I should point out that everything you said makes sense and is definitely something to think about. It’s just that if that’s a problem, this isn’t the right bike. It simply wasn’t designed for that.
You can still mount a top tube bag and cover the display if speed or battery life viewing isn't a primary concern as your main assist controls are on the handlebar. Also, the battery is removeable - though a bike like this you may want to bring inside when you're commuting!
@@charliethedog7579 I have the previous Domane+ HP (Class III) and it's the perfect commuter bike. It has a few warts (cable routing on all Domane's of that generation is a nightmare), but it's perfect for my daily commute. The removable battery was the reason I chose it over the Creo. I often do very long rides, and built a trunk rack for it to carry a spare battery. Basically, the main reasons I chose the original HP was exactly because it is the perfect drop-bar commuter. This new one, not so much. Kinda bummed.
@@Finx5008 That is a bit sad. I guess it’s a business thing though. Everyone is trying to make more and more specific categories of bikes for different things. I have a feeling they would tell you to buy an allant or something if you want the commuter features. I think both of them are really cool (although not for me) however it is a shame that you can’t get that “do it all” setup anymore without spending twice the money to get two bikes. 🤷♂️
I understand that e-mtb is designed to help in climbing. But e-roadbike? Even steel rb is pretty fast so what's the point of making it electric? Isn't it basically an electric motorcycle with pedals?
No it is not an electric motorcycle. It will not move unless you pedal it. I bought my Wife one and she love it. It makes it possible for us to ride together regardless of the pace, amount of climbing or distance - within reason.
While we don't have an electric Checkpoint, it's worth pointing out that the Domane+ does fit up to 40mm tires making it great for all types of adventures!
Like all e-bikes, they create more opportunities to get more people on bikes! With more variety, comes more riders to the sport. It's a win-win for everyone!
I disagree, I have the standard Domane but am considering one of these as I'm getting older and nowhere near as fit as before. Would be very good for those windy days when I just decide to work from home instead of cycling to the office.
What a beautiful bicycle the colors the design I mean everything
Very enjoyable bike. Nice piece of engineering.
That is a beauty of a bike

The perfect road/gravel bike!

a not-electric bike
a dumb way to say it

I could understand how 1x would be difficult to find stocked for a Domane.
Looks awesome 🚴
Does this have the same motor that was introduced in the new Fuel EXe? Curious to see a comparison between this bike and Specialized turbo creo.
Yes it is. I have a Fuel EX-e.
Great engineering!

25 km/h is too low indeed
Are there any plans for Trek to sell the Domane+ SLR in Japan?
I am planning to buy.
Can you deliver this one uae how much price plz
What if you pedal faster than the motor speed limit?
It does a front flip
Awesome video

You asked, we listened!
@@trekbikes I see the bike is up on the Australian and US websites, but not the Canadian. Hopefully, they'll show up soon.
I prefer the tested older Domane+ HP. Bosch for the high torque.
Nice!
On order !! 6/6/23

“Acoustic bike” it’s just a bike dude
Acoustic, electric, bass bike
It's too bad Trek doesn't have anything at a price point to compete with the Specialized Creo 2. A Class 3 Checkpoint+ SL6 at $6,500 would sell.
Do the same on checkpoint!

Or get the same bike and same motor in a Trek FX + for literally $1,000 less.
Nothing further from the truth
Can even a petite woman ride it?
11.8kg 軽い👍😂
ur pretty much forced to use the assist because the motor just adds the weight that wouldn't be there without it🤡
