I started watching your videos as I was interested in getting a Trek Road Bike. After I have kept following your videos and I just really like hearing your thoughts while you are on your rides and the more I watch the more I get inspired! I have signed up for the London to Brighton this year and it will be my longest ride to date. I have done a 50km in my mountian bike so far but now that I own my own Trek Domane Road Bike, I look forward to putting in the effort and increasing the distance! Good luck on your 200KM Ride! That is absolutely mental and very inspiring, maybe I can also get there one day! Best of luck and safe bike journeys! 🚴
Nice bike. Interesting that you're thinking of going electronic. I went the other way on my Fairlight Secan, keeping in real with steel, and installed mechanical GRX 1X and ditched the hydraulic brakes for Paul Components' Klamper mechanical brakes. I decided that simpler fix on the road was where I wanted to be. Anyway, might see you on Salisbury Plain. 👍
That’s a sweet lookin’ ride, Ben! Juggling life between family, work, and cycling is always a bit of a hectic mess. I’m there with ya. Got one three year old and one on the way. Free time to get a few km’s can be a challenging!
I absolutely love that you’re bringing attention to the Boone. I’m sore today from riding mountain bike trails on my Boone, with my son since he just bought a new mountain bike. Good times but I need to stick to gravel.😂
Electronic shifting for a one by group set is a bit overrated. At least with GRX because mechanical shifts so well. I have no experience with SRAM mechanical shifting.
Ben, makes me happy to see that you finally found the right bike for you! You do a lot of gravel so the Boone makes total sense. I do zero gravel on my Domane SL 7 Gen 4 but I do an average of 300 miles a week on pavement road and my Domane is perfect for that :)
Hi there my friend. It amaze me to hear that a CX bike feels comfortable. Or maybe I got it wrong. The one you were taking about before this one, was the aluminum one right? Ride save.. and greetings from Curaçao. ✌and yes, new subscriber here..
Ben I have been getting some back pain on my domane but it’s mostly when staying seated on climbs putting down power having a bike fit next week to try and sort it
@@benjaminlechappers had the fit this morning, changed saddle height and bout it forward, got a longer stem and adjusted my right cleat as my knee wasn’t stable. Managed to out this afternoon did the route where I was suffering towards the end and it felt good no pain and managed to take 2 mins out of my pb on this route.
I have a Checkpoint that I have been running a Mullet, Force AXS shifters\crank w\Power and X01 RD and 10-52 cassette, but I also have a Rival XPLR RD, 10-44 Cassette, and flattop chain, so based on my specific riding needs, it takes me all of 10 mins to swap the RD, Chain, and Cassette and I am ready to roll. I seriously looked at the Boone frame before I went with the CheckPoint, but I was not a fan of the BB Drop on the Boone, but glad it is working for you.
@@benjaminlechappers Cheers Ben. Appreciate that 😊 I use Panaracer Pari Moto 42 mm. They are slicks and rolls realy well, but I looking for a tire with a bit more grip.
@@nicholasvipond2205Whether or not you're a similar height as Ben is not _necessarily_ indicative of the size bike you should get. We all have different levels of strength, flexibility, etc., which can alter the frame & components (bars, stem, cranks, seatpost setback, ...) which *_properly_* fits you.

That’s awesome bud. Keep it up. Appreciate your kind words 👊🏽👊🏽
Being from Middlesbrough myself I can confirm that you’re the first person to say you’d be happy once you got there😂
There's worse places though.
Hahahah harsh 😂🤣😂
I thought that too being a Middlesbrough well actually redcar local
New bike looks amazing, your videos really inspired me to get a bike after a lot of years away from it and im loving being out again.
That’s what it’s all about. Getting out and exploring. 👊🏽

Sorry for asking your length, frame size and saddle height, made me a perfect fit on my 52 émonda alr palmares 🤗
No worries!
like the outfit ben! and a lovely bike to go with it! 👍😁

I approve of the new bike :P

I just got done a 61 mile with 4800ft of elevation. Single hardest event I have done.
Hi Ben, Can you advise what tyre width you've squeezed in using the 650b's
Hi, 47 ☝🏽
Great video
Thanks!
Trek emonda the best bro
chapperssss!!
Beautiful bike Ben fair play what gearing is on the boone? Great content as usual.
Sram Rival
Great video Ben. Bike looks sick! 🙌 I also run 650B on gravel. What tires are you using?
47….. I’ll check the make a

Ya I tried to use my old domane as a gravel bike but didn't enjoy it so i moved on too
What camera do you film on when riding Ben?
DJI mate…. 👊🏽
Wagwan Breadbins
Sorry. OAF here
How come the Boone is so much lighter than Domane
I’m really not sure 🤔
CX bikes are superior gravel race bikes. I just got a crockett and its just a last gen emonda alr with bigger tire clearance
Yes been telling Foxy this
It can’t Be a 53 frame set, Trek only make 52, 54 or 56, not 53
But as always, great video from you 👍😁
I was about to say the same ! I’m 5’ 8” and my Boone is a 52 although the Trek size guide has me on a 54. Is it a 52 or 54 ? I really need to know….
Always love the videos 👍
Yes, 54 I forgot to add the flash up…..🫣

"... _need_ an electronic group set" ??
By "need" I presume you mean "want"
Wannnnnnnt!!!!
@@benjaminlechappers haha, okay okay
@@benjaminlechappers the truth will set you free _and_ probably get you in trouble with your better half
Be careful on gravel descents and off camber turns, Cross bikes are terrible in those gravel conditions. The short wheel base is sketch! Ride more
Thanks for the tips!
@@benjaminlechappers Okay, FAFO
you are 5.9 and riding a 53 frame and complain about issues with your back / shoulders... Your bike frame should be at least 56!
