Hey Ben, love the vids!! One tip though for editing - try and equalize the audio. Some of your audio clips, especially the ones of you talking, are way quieter than the music. Keep them coming!
Yes i struggled with the audio on this one. It’s the first time I’ve underlaid music when I talk. I was also under some time restrictions. I filmed and edited that all in one day. I’ll get better. It’s all about the journey. 😀
Ben, the Bontrager Girona tires are fantastic. I been riding them for about a month now. they are super supple at 220 tpi and run stupid fast on the road and are very grippy on the gravel. I am presently running the 42's when I am mostly gravel and the 35's when I am running more road than gravel on a second wheelset. Great tire. Good luck on your trip. I also used the Pirelli Gravel H they are also great tires. While I like the tan wall on some tires, I like you, tend to stay with the black wall tire.
Great vids lately Ben, just started riding gravel and road this year, and stuff like this inspires me. Riding a Trek Domane here on 38mm GravelKings, the Boone looks great 👍
Oh can’t wait to see you do a gravel adventure! The white bottle cage looks amazing with that logo. I love riding gravel where I feel tan walls are super popular but I’m just not a fan. To each their own I guess. 😂
On that color bike the black wall tires look good. I normally prefer tan wall. Pirelli cinturado H tires are my go to. They’re fast and very grippy. With carbon bits, a torque wrench is essential! Nice looking bike!
Agree re tan wall. Ran them for a while but didn’t like them, didn’t look right on the bike with the paint job it’s got and they get dirty so fast. So switched to a Maxxis Reaver ( black wall ) in a 45mm ( nearly 48mm on the rim ) fantastic tyre and rolls very fast for a gravel tyre. Great looking bike by the way 👍
As usual bro, great video.. Ya am done with a tan wall.. plus from what my bike mechanic told me isn't that good with two layers or something Now on the Maxxis High Road, super comfy and feels faster than my Goodyear F1
Looks great, but man I love tan walls, especially the lighter tan. I’m only sayin this cuz you asked what you did wrong…. Wasteful!😂 must be nice to chuck out perfectly good bar tape and tires because “it doesn’t match”. Have a great trip. Color me jealous.
There's no way I'm going to give you fashion advice Ben, so what ever sidewall you choose is fine with me. You probably should learn how to use a torque wrench though, especially on a gravel bike: you have most of the skills sorted already so it's only going to be a small step. Enjoy your trip, go fast and have fun, and we'll look forward to your video.
love the setup! just got a Boone myself and looking to change out the tires as well. how did you find that the clearance of the 40s was throughout your trip? would you have still felt confident on the terrain on 35s or 38s?
Another wonderful video Ben and a question. Why did you change from the 650b to the 700c? I’m buying a new bike and am debating between those sizes. Thanks
Hi Ben, this isn’t on any cycling point but, you do remind of a Barbadian origin bus driver who worked during the 1990s in Reading. Your tash and a few other little looks remind me of him. Could he be some relation of yours? Grandad maybe? Just wondered.
Good luck mate, sounds amazing!
Tan walls - still a thing but good to mix it up 😎 Tyre logos line up with valves I thought.......🤔😃
So many rules. Who knows what’s correct 😂
I do. Tire logos line up with valves 😛. Also, tan walls will never die!!

Came across your channel via Francis channel. I am about to watch your video of the Malaysia trip! You now have a new subscriber. Good stuff!

Ohhh no, I didn’t chuck the tiers 😂
Just the tape. Tape didn’t come off in one bit. Had to throw it.
Bike is looking sick 🤩
The Pirelli Cinturato GOAT gravel tyre ❤
Hope so 🤞🏾

@@benjaminlechappersI’ve run 35mm H for commuting and 45mm M for gravel/Mud and 🔥

🔝
Personally, wall color depends on bike color. Love a good tan wall but my bike just looks better with black.
Enjoy the trip, dude!
Totally agree! Cheers
Love it Ben ❤
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Hoop dat je een leuke biketrip heb.
The paint scheme is a vibe
Yes love it. Some of Treks best colours are on the most random bikes
would love to line up tyre logos with wheels but on GP5000s they aren't the same on both sides so, if you line one side up, the other side is out
They’re haters obviously. Messing with our algorithms
@benjaminlechappers LOL! I typically line the logo up with the valve stem.
Cool. 😎

Hey, I think I’m happy with these.
In sand last week was a little sketchy.
Another wonderful video Ben and a question.

I’m buying a new bike and am debating between those sizes.

They could have rubbed on the frame
@@benjaminlechappers gotcha. Thanks
Hi Ben. What tyre width fitted ? Thanks
That frame is just sexy. Can't wait for footage from your trip in Sri Lanka, nice one.

do you not find working on your own bike helps you get to know it better ? always line them tyre logos up man 👍🚴
Give it horns Ben!

Cool bike 👍 what pedals are those?

Are you allowed to say who else is going on the trip?
Next week maybe ✊🏾
music too loud bro...
Cross bike eh?

Shocked to see you mechanic-ing _without supervision_ 🫣🙃 Also, WHY still just one bottle, especially since you're going to an unknown locale??
I’ll have a hydration vest on 😜
