Amazing! You were able to buy food for your meet and greet and still managed to still get your weekly hauls! AND extra money leftover for the summer kitchen, AMAZING. Round of applause for Janice 🥳
Janice, it is so exciting that your videos are showing people that you can not only eat well if you take a little time to watch for sales, but that you can take the funds you save and put that money to use for something kind of expensive that you want and can really use! We have always saved for special things (like your summer kitchen!)and saving has always been a part of our lifestyle. But for many, this is a new concept! We know a lot of younger people caught up in crushing credit card debt. Who needs that?! It is so much fun to see your savings for something you want grow a little bigger every pay period! We do that Happy Dance of Successful Saving, too! Another super video!
Beautiful marigolds!! The cheese is really a good price! I know you are truly helping people with their shopping. With the rising food prices you are a blessing to others who have to make their dollar stretch to be able to feed their families.
God willing the summer kitchen will be up and running by the next good weather. I’m praying that will be so for you all. I can’t wait to share in those happy events to come. Sending love and hugs from across the pond xxxx
I always buy a 5 or 10 pound bag of potatoes. I boil up majority of them. I shred some for hash browns and put into sandwich keepers. I chop some potatoes for American fries. I make mashed potatoes. I use crinkle cutter to make french fries. I use an apple corer to cut tater tots. All of these different types of potatoes get put into freezer in containers for one person serving. I make potato chips in air fryer.
We got that same hard freeze here in Tennessee and I still had tons of tomatoes on my plants so I double frost clothed them and they survived so we got a little bit of good weather for a while hopefully they will turn on the vine but if we get another frost I will pick whats left and put them on the counter. Great buys this week. You are doing grest this month with your budget. Take care and stay safe!
Well done with the budget Janice, you really are a super shopper and also your kiddies have a really good nutritious diet, loved the video as always, see you next time.
Us Aussies love a good loaded potato, however generally we do butter, coleslaw, sour cream, cheese and bacon with maybe beetroot and pineapple OR with I guess the equivalent of your chilli, sour cream, avo and cheese (like nachos but with potatoes instead of corn chips). We generally just call them baked spuds lol
It's like the endless grocery budget😂 reminds me of the flour and oil miracle in 1 Kings. What an amazing God we serve. 🙌🏼 Miss Janice, approx. How much more money would you say you need to finish the outdoor kitchen?
Oh my goodness..thanks for sharing this weeks haul. I totally missed the cheese sale when the ad first came out…did I need cheese? Nope. Did I stock up? Yep. Thanks again for sharing.
Our Walmart is 1.98 per 18 egg count, so I am excited about the Kroger egg sale here this week. I also plan on stocking up on cheese and cottage cheese! .99 per 16 oz cottage cheese here. Yay!
I ordered coffee on Amazon last week because that was a better deal than Walmart. Today I went into Aldi and saw that incredible price and bought 2 more. We are well stocked now. I also found the 8oz blocks of sharp cheddar only for 1.39 and bought several. I got the cream cheese and apples as well.
Would you ever think about doing a cost comparison to raising your own food vs. store bought? For example- how much is the upkeep of the chickens, or a cow, for the eggs and milk? I am sure, as you do it, it must be a large savings. I’d love to know:) thanks for sharing!!
I'm pretty close to you, Springfield, Mo., and our Walmart has whole Honeysuckle turkeys for .98 cents a lb as their regular price. Did you check your Walmart price? Wish the guy you're hiring to work on the summer kitchen would hurry and make it back to you! I can't wait to see it finished! I'm sure you will have family and friends over to celebrate!
I shopped Kroger in Arizona. I only bought loss leader food. Green Giant can veggies. 49 cents must buy 6. I bought 2 case of whole kernal corn. Will go back in the morning they will get a shipment in tonight for green beans. Same price. 18 count large eggs $1.29 limit 5 is 7 cents a egg.
Thanks for another great video! I keep meaning to tell you that my interest in language usage makes me like the southern(?) pronunciation of the word “ten” . I grew up in PA and have lived my adult life in the Midwest. You say ‘tin’ and am used to a long e in the word “ten”. When I first watched your channel I initially thought the Ten Box store was named after the metal tin. Then I realized I was wrong and that our geographic areas of our country just have a different pronunciation. I think language and geographic differences in words and how they are said and what some very local words mean is fascinating. Thank you so much for your clear and simple goodness. I love following you and your family! God bless! 👍🏻🙏
me and my neighbor was just talking about this online flyers are different than the paper ads its kind of like a money grab to make people to come into the stores hugssssss
Here in southern Illinois, 18 CT eggs are. 99 cents with the digital. Weird how the same company has different prices depending on where you are located..
Looks like some great sales! That’s wonderful you might have extra to put towards the summer kitchen! Our local store jewel/ Safeway has some good deals this week! 99 cents lb boneless skinless chicken breasts, legs or thighs! 99 cents a pound bone in pork shoulder. $1.49 for a jumbo pineapple, 3lb of honey crisp apples, Bartlett pear $1.99 a bag! Challenge butter $2.99 can only get one. 1.49 for 18ct eggs and $1.99 ghiradelli baking chips or brownie mix!
All the Marigolds are beautiful!! Nice to have some flowers still around in fall!! I hope you are using the vegetable chopper for ALL those avacados, it's so much work and so time consuming to chop them all by hand! I just seen a 4 lb block of cheese at my Wally World (trying to avoid the censors) I don't remember what the price was but you should check to see if your Wally World has it, it might be cheaper per ounce, it was right by the other blocks of cheese. If it isn't at your Wally World yet, it might be coming soon, so be on the look out! It might take a little while before it is at all stores. As soon as I saw it I thought of Janice! LOL! Woo Hoo some money left over for the Summer Kitchen! Way To Go, Janice!!
I really love these videos but I’m wondering if you would consider showing all the ads, then all the groceries? I love seeing what you bought but I don’t have the same stores that you do. Just an idea. Thanks for sharing and helping people stay on budget!!
I got a turkey from Walmart 2days ago for .98 cents a pound. We went to ALDI’s and stocked up on can good’s, I looked at the turkeys but I thought I could get them cheaper and we did. Thank you for sharing..
Here in Canada, it has been literally YEARS since I saw bananas at .49 cents/lb. If they are only .75 cents/lb that is amazing. Often I see 99 cents/ lb.
Do you make pickles? My favorite produce market has Kirby cucumbers for .99/lb and I was thinking of getting some to make pickles but there are so many recipes online that I’m not sure which to use.
I feel the summer kitchen fund may be in for a boost this pay period. It seems only a few weeks ago that the temperature was up high and now you've had your first frost. We are enduring Storm Ciaran at the moment. Lots of flooding and coastal damage. Prayers for all. Blessings ❤🕯️🙏
Hey guys, this is a bit off topic but I am looking for advice from viewers too please. It is on milk. Does anyone know if low fat organic milk is better than full fat organic milk. I was trying to do research and I keep getting on Google that yes low fat is better than full fat. Organic has no chemicals in the milk and low fat has less estrogen. Is that true can someone tell me please. ❤
Well darn we don't have the cheese sale at ours that is a good price. You'll be happy to hear I finally found a local drop off here in my city for Azure Standards and just placed my first order with them.. they had Instant Oats not organic ones 25 pound bag for $18 something plus their fee and $5 fee for buying less than $50 but still even with that 99 cents a pound which is pretty good for our area. I just looked again at Krogers and sadly we didn't have the whole chickens on sale either, the prices have been crazy high on those for quite some time which doesn't make since, since it's less processing for a whole chicken versus chicken parts but hopefully we'll get it at some point. I did see the coffee listed at $5.99. Anna In Ohio
(from Shawn) That is their profit. They show the wholesale price and then charge 10% above on every item. The claim is that most stores actually charge more than 10% and they hide the wholesale price from you. At 10 Box, they are upfront with what they make on each item.
Theres no tax on potatoes in Canada. Not anything fresh, like veg& fruit, neither dairy or meat . Basicallyanything good for you. Anything thats good for you
I remember one month when you took off what you got in gift cards from your grocery budget. Why don't you do that anymore? I'm not complaining, I'm just wondering why you don't do that anymore? I do love your videos
Oh, I will go back to doing that again next month, Tina! The extra expense of the supplies for the Meet & Greet won't be an issue during the next pay period, so I'll go back to trying to stay within our $1100 a month budget MINUS any gift cards we might receive. :)
We have a store like that where I live in Central Illinois it's just a gimmick to make you think you're getting a better price then they add the 10% at the end of the order.
They have a big variety of meat plus salmon. I ate no ham when I was pregnant and my daughter was born on the weekly Sabbath. We eat ham . Love sardines. ❤

I’m pretty sure she knows that!
I hope this does not sound creepy, but your smile is just so beautiful! It just lights everything up!
Aww, thank you for being so kind! 🥰💕🥰💕
Marigolds are one of my favorite smells. They remind me of my mother’s garden when I was a little girl. Tomato vines is another favorite!
Love the shopping hauls. Great Deals Janice. Thank you!!! Getting closer to the summer kitchen
5 weeks and meet n greet and still lots left over for the summer kitchen great job Janice hugsssssss
👏🏻 And that is how it’s done.❤
Janice, Thank you for mentioning the deal on coffee at Aldi. I was able to pick up a can today. It’s such a great deal! Thanks again!
I love how thrifty you are and how you show us how to price and compare! Here's loads of prayers and blessings to go towards your Summer Kitchen! ❤😊❤
Great grocery haul ❤❤❤👍👍👍
I will check out the price on the coffee..Thanks much.

Are you going to do a video making the Mexican dip? 😊
You are a very frugal shopper. Do you think outcome would be as successful without the gift cards lovingly donated by your viewers?
I told the kids I am not paying $3.49 for 2 lbs french fries. I bought 10 lbs russet potatoes on sale $3.00. I will make homemade french fries.
I sure hope you make a video making the chocolate chip caramel drizzle bars 😋
I think that would be a popular video! 😁

Yes, we do! I typically make fermented pickles to keep in the refrigerator and Sarah likes to can our garden pickles as shelf-stable preserves. 😁

What is the point of adding 10% at checkout ??
