They did bring back some memories those old school tables with the ink well, like you we never had ink in them. Those tables were alot better storage underneath, compared to the flatter modern tables. The big oak benches in the science labs aswell i wonder if modern kids can play with bunson burners bill. Maybe not with open gas taps and matches 😂. My names kieran btw bill
Hello Bill thank you for another lovely walk pleased to see doggo has still got his bandana on. Lovely to see that the Art Trail is coming back . Love the old desks and yes Bill I do remember using ink wells with ink in and pens but not quills 😂 I'm not that old well not quite 😂time for me to say bye for today Bill see you tomorrow stay safe ❤😊xx
Cheers Kieran - Probably all computers in Science class these days - Where you watch someone else do stuff on the computer, instead of doing it yourself! Safer that way 🤣🤣🤣 👍👍👍
Yes remember inkwells very well I can remember being an ink well monitor having to top up the ink wells each morning . PS your intro outro music ..my Wife dances each time she hears it . 😊
😂 Thanks Al - Even my mum jigs about to it in the chair! Yes, quite a few viewers remember being inkwell monitors - Just a little bit before my time I'm afraid! 👍👍👍
A really interesting varied content today Bill. Yes I used the little porcelain ink wells that dropped into those desk holes. However it was not a quill but a normal 'dip in' pen - no doubt they had a proper name🙀. Loved that old view across the Den. 😺
Yes, Pam picked me up on my usage of the word 'Quill' - "I'm not THAT old" she said! 😂 I should have said 'Nib' but as usual, the wrong word came out my mouth, and I didn't realise until a week later ! 😂😂😂 👍👍👍
Yes Bill, I also remember the ink wells in my school desk, but I hadn't thought about them in years. It will be nice to see the art trail once it's finished and all the signs are up, I just hope you get a good day to film it. I noticed when you were venting your spleen about the graffiti "artistes" an old car driving by but I didn't recognise it. I wonder if anyone knows what it was. See you tomorrow mate. 👍👍👍
Didn't notice that at the time, but deffo an American car as driver was on the left - I asked AI to examine a screen grab, and it said 1950s Chevrolet Fleetline ??? 👍👍👍
Oh yes I definitely remember the ink wells and all the ink stains over your hands 😅 I love the start of the art trail looking forward to seeing it when finished. Take care x
When I was at school the maths teacher who wanted us to use a fountain pens. We had free ink so it ended up cheaper than ball point if you did not replace the nib when it got a bit worn. In the last year I bought a pen that had ink cartridges, far less mess but I did have to buy the cartridges. Have not used one since I left school. I thought the bird had started to earn its keep for a moment at 8:00. But the art trail is far better.
Cheers John - I had a French teacher who insisted we use ink pens for some reason - Had to buy one just for his class - With cartridges - From WH Smith. Bad enough having to learn French in itself, but to have to write with an unforgiving ink pen on top? So Silly! 👍👍👍
Inkwells! Wow that's what they are 😂 I always thought they were for chewy storage 😉 lol. That was a different walk Bill, Norman's Bridge looks quite different from the opposite direction. Take care chum and best regards to your Mum.

Eeee yeah I remember those exact benches from school in Northumberland. They must have made millions of them in the 60s an 70s. Aaah memories 😂😂
