I have questions...if the last baby wasn't a boy, what would the mother have done to continue to seek revenge upon her step daughter....she was truly trying to kill her step daughter....I understand about forgiveness but when it comes to trying to kill your own family member... because you couldn't get pregnant right away or bare a son in your own time instead of God's time and to continue to have such little faith that you resort to evil doing...forgive but it would of ended in the consequences of divorce.

I think that the medicine man who the lady went to with her mother was conspiring with her mother to lie against her stepdaughter.
She almost ruined her married life listening to her mother's lies and schemes.

I love how you ended the story with love and forgiveness. I love that nobody died. MILs tend to be the first to be suspicious and tend to give sinister, evil advice, SMH! Even in this day and age, it still persists. Keep your MILs out of your marital affairs if at all possible. You will know because their advice or so-called “wisdom” will stem from envy, jealousy, bitterness. Heavenly wisdom stems from patience, peacemaking, life-giving, harmless, simply put: Does not speak evil towards anyone! Respectfully, and I mean “respectfully,” tell them that you will take their advice to God in prayer. We must realize that satan will take advantage of the strife and divisions we’ve created in our lives, and will influence us by using us to do his destructive works. That’s one of his jobs is to do that. And he will use a person who we never suspected could even think of bringing us harm. Resist him and don’t let him in your house, your thoughts, and your body. For those who believe, we belong to God - mind, soul and body! Keep YOUR faith!
