Have to agree these are the about the best for the price. Better than rab unless you get the vapor rise stuff. And like you said they fit great, well fit me great anyway
Totally agree. I hope it doesn't come across as I'm saying they're the best full-stop because they're not, but I really believe they are for the money and an all-rounder.
@@BackpackingUK lol no you just sound enthusiastic about them. I've a black pair my only gripe is I don't really like black trousers would have preferred them in grey
He’s right. I’ve had both. My old ibex were good winter trousers. However my new ibex pro are so much better! The ibex were useful but there was so much on them that irritated me. ALL THE PROBLEMS ARE FIXED in the ibex Pro. These are my perfect outdoor trousers. I didn’t live the Ibex. I do love the Ibex Pro. It’s like they read my mind and changed everything around to how I would like them made. The Ibex were too heavy and over complicated. The mesh pockets were too shallow and whin used as vents were useless as pockets. The lower leg zip would only be useful for ski boots or really large mountain boots and made yh too heavy. The pro are just so lovely to use. The perfect trousers for mountains and woods
Hi Andy. Thank you for this review. I also wear ME trousers but mine are the Orbital. I think they are excellent. Mine are a bit more expensive due to being classed as Ultralight. From memory, I think they cost me £140 and weigh around 270g. Stretchy, very water resistant and lightweight. I love them. John.
I love my mountain equipment ibex pants. Have 5 of them. Only issue is the belt comes loose sometimes and the mesh pocket lining have holes in them and all but my newest pair. I would go pro but the removal of the upper zipped pockets has really put me off
If they made the pro pants without the pockets on the front of the legs and had a mesh lining for the vents they would be the perfect pant, like I really don't understand why all these companies are putting pockets on the front of ur legs it's just horrible. But thanks for the video mate 👍 good as always
I have these (first ones you reviewed) and I think they are great apart from one really annoying thing, the belt. I fasten the belt and pull to a secure fit but it just slides loose over time. ( not much time tbh). Am I doing something wrong?
I have two pairs of Ibeks. Love them apart from one thing, the belt. You tighten it and the minute you crouch or extend your leg climbing it slips and whilst with a back pack it gets awkward having to readjust. Further to that, if rushed whilst taking them off the belt buckle can slip into the stitched material and it’s a bloody effort to get it out. So swapped the belt out and problem solved 👍🏻
I agree that the belt is a giant problem on the standard Ibex pants. Also, when I wash it, the belt goes totally out of position and it's hard to put it back. The side pockets are also extremely small, but they work as ventilation. I also think they are a little to wide in the legs, but other than that totally ok.
I'm tempted by the Ibex Pro but I find ME's quality really inconsistent. My ME Comici pants are fantastic and have been bombproof, but my ME Mission pants looked like shit after 2 uses.
Had my Terra for years, bee washed over a dozen times and almost indestructible. As much as I'd love to try the Ibex Pro the Terra has set the benchmark too high
I got a pair of ibex pros and they are far better than what Rab or Montane where offering. I work for a an outdoor retailer so i had ages to check all the specs and get my hands on the products themselves.
I've got a cpl pairs of the normal Ibex pants there great all round trousers for 3 season hiking they have bobbled a bit around the groin area but I use them all the time anything above 20c they run a bit warm but that when I put shorts on also in temps below about 5c with wind-chill you feel it.
I wear shorts over 15 degrees. I actually wore these in winter over my fleece-lined trousers. I used either a base layer or over-trousers. They’re not perfect but they’re a great all-rounder.
I imagine there very good I think most people would not be willing to pay so much for trousers ! Karrimor Panther trousers I hear are a very good budget option.
I've got cheaper options too. Out of them I really rate my Mountain Warehouse fleece-lined hiking trousers. However, you'd bake in them above 5 degrees!
@@BackpackingUK Helps to shop around. I've literally had my arcteryx and fjallraven gear half the price in some places. Great videos mate especially looking at the budget options. I live near the Gower so we are always hiking, biking and camping. 👍

I’m 6ft 3 and the 34” LONG are perfect. Get the Ibex Pro. They’re the better design by far.

That’s really light! I have the Comici too but I’m always a bit cautious when scrambling.
Perfect review, thank you. 🙏

I genuinely use the pockets on the legs 😂 That’s why I love Fjallraven trousers as well. I guess everyone is different 🤷🏻♂️

Hi, your review video is great, would you be interested in learning about reviewing the Gash Hao brand of hiking pants, looking forward to a reply!
Bought them both stormers 👍

I’ve never had a problem with the belt myself, but it’s usually fairly loose because the trousers are a great fit without it.

Absolutely love mine. So comfortable.
I love my Montane terra.. They are the most comfortable trousers. I have ever warn. hiking and and every day wear.
My mate has those. The Terra range is big and really well thought out. They are a very close contender for best hiking trousers.

Has the waist got any stretch Andy ? I see the pro ones you said is adjustable but wondering if the non pro ones have any give

What size shirt are you wearing here Andy?
Small 👍
Hi. Can you fit a OS map in the thigh pocket?
The comici pants are even better in my opinion. These are both too heavy and warm, even for winter. Just my opinion though obviously :)
I’ve got those too but they’re tight on my thighs and bits. My mates don’t like me wearing them 😂
@@BackpackingUK hahaha fair enough 🤣🤣
Just got the Pro pants in anvil grey from Trekitt for £75
I’m fairly sure that’s where I got my from too. £75 is a great price for such good hiking pants!
The orig ibex are great but run a bit tight for me compared to my terras and others. Seen the pro version for £75 so that might be a shout.
That's what I paid. I couldn't believe it, bargain!

Interesting. I daily wear Kuhl convertible Renegade pants to the point that I haven't worn a pair of cotton jeans in 5 years.
I've seen those in the outdoor stores but never known anyone with them. Do you rate them?
I wear for work all the time, comfortable and light and quick drying, look smart too.
robot never blinks
is pro version too warm for summer months in mid temperstures?
Not this 'summer'! They would be in a normal summer but this summer was much cooler than usual so they were fine.
Does anyone else get some rubbing/chaffing on the inner thigh from the pocket seams?
Personally, not me, and I’ve used both boxers and pants.
For context I just bought a pair, brand new, went out for a 10 minute walk and felt a bit rough.
Can’t you just wear a regular jogger?
