    Thank you so much this is really helpful I am looking at trekking pants now and it is easy to become overwhelmed. I was looking at both Norrona, mountain equipment and the fjallraven stinas but of course waterproofing is a must too. I found this so helpful thank you

    I got the Klättermusen Gere 2.0, I'll never look back. By far the most well made and comfortable trousers i've ever tried on. No stretchy panels but still very flexible and the fit is absolutely tailored, I could sleep in them. Fabric dries super quick (comes out of the washing machine almost dry) and pockets are very roomy and comfy. Ventilation zipper works perfectly since it faces to the front letting air in more easily. Very clever design overall!

      Matti also like his Gere pants very much. I haven't tried them my self. For me they seem so heavy but maybe you're right that the other features compensate for that. I am very happy with my Fjallraven Keb Trousers. /Stina

      I concur on this. I've had all the big nordics brands and their top pants, and the Gere is just at the top or very near for me. I would put the Norrøne Svalbard heavy and maybe the Lundhags Makke Pro as contenders, but that's it really.

    A lot of good information here. Thank you! I am so impressed by the Klättermusen and the Norwegian Norrøna pants( produced gear since 1929) .Superior quality! Not so impressed, say at least, by the keb Fjellräven pants. Every front zipper on the fjellräven keb pants have failed after a short time of normal use. A lot of money down the drain. Very very disappointing and frustraiting. I red that many people have had that issue. The quality do not mach up with the price. What happen @Fjellräven?. Thank you again for this video. I really enjoy and prefer nordic branded gear . All the best 🌲

      The tailor just replaced a zipper in a four months old Fjällräven. Costs me twenty euro. But I agree, the quality of Fjällräven trousers (and jackets) can be very disappointing. But they have the looks and that’s for many the most important thing (though almost nobody will admit it).

    I am a fan of the Klättermusen "Gere". It dries fast, keeps wind fairly well out, and even after i gained a Kilo or 2, they still fit, while my Fjällraven Abisko do not anymore. "sadface". Thanks for the nice presentation, i had to giggle a bit about the shoe not coming off, i know that one.

    Bra saker att tänka på när man väljer, endast traditionella friluftsbyxor där dock, hade varit intressant att att ha med hiking tights och jämföra med. har helt gått över till det själv när jag är ute och friluftsbyxorna får stanna på hundpromenader och annat i vardagen.

      Har precis investerat i mitt första par vandringstights så måste testa de ett tag innan jag kan säga något om dem. En sak jag kan säga direkt som är en nackdel är att man inte ryms ett par långkalsonger under vilket behövs ganska ofta här uppe speciellt tidig sommar och höst. Men annars väldigt komfortabla. 🙂 /Stina

    • @JOKKMOKKGUIDERNA
      @JOKKMOKKGUIDERNA  3 года назад +5

      When it's that cold I don't use hikinig pants. Then I use a shell pant instead and use one, two or 3 layers underneath depending on how cold it is. When it's super cold like -35 C or colder I even use 4 layers of long-johns under the shell pant. ;-)

    The boot hooks on the new FR pants are the other way round. That way they don’t catch your shoelaces unintended.

  • @helvettefaensatan

    I've never wore hiking trousers as quickly as Fjällräven KEB. The amount of layers that meet at the crotch and how much of that which is stretch is ridiculous. It just disintegrated down there.
    I have Fjällräven Vidda (Pro) now and they seem to be much better constructed. Still some stretch but it seems fine. Vidda's lace hooks are inverse so they don't hook by themselves, they also stay much better when you want them there.
    Edit: I mainly hike and ski. I have few alternative trousers such as Stina does.

    • @danceswithbadgers
      @danceswithbadgers Год назад +1

      I had exactly the same poor experience with Kebs. Also with several pairs of Abisko Lites and most recently with a pair of Vidda Pro. G-1000 is useless, but it's Fjallraven's signature material and they're stuck with it. I have a pair of Keb Touring trousers which are structurally softshell with cosmetic overlays of G-1000. They are fine after the sort of use that would ruin any of the other trousers I've mentioned. No more G-1000 for me.

    When i went to my local outdoor store and basically tested every pants in my size and they told me that it has to be the first time they didn't have anything to offer, i wanted a pair that both fit me and i could sit down in a squatting position. Later i rolled the dice on a pair of Lundhags that i ordered online luckily they fit great but the downside is that the stretch is placed on the knees and butt both areas and gets far too easily wet when it's in contact with the ground

    Jag har helt gett upp byxor med polycotton. Jag tycker inte materialet är bra, styvt, torkar långsamt när det väl blir blött och det sämsta är att jag ofta tycker att det går sönder i sömmarna mellan stretchmaterial och polycotton. Jag har tex lyckats göra slut på två par Makke pants på detta sätt.
    Klättermusen och Haglöfs är det som jag gillat bäst över tid. Särskilt Klättermusens wibdstretch tycker jag är kanon. Tex Vanadis, Mitrhril osv. Lätta men hållbara.

    • @JOKKMOKKGUIDERNA
      @JOKKMOKKGUIDERNA  Год назад

      Matti har haft ett par Makke nu och de var väldigt dålig kvalitet. De har gått isönder efter väldigt kort användande så de skulle jag inte hålla som en referens för polycotton-byxor. Håller med om att det är rätt styvt material iallafall innan de är "ingångna" och att det torkar långsammare. Vi har ändå varit nöjda med Fjällräven Keb, klättermusen Gere. Testar nu Taiga Russel. /Stina

      Ah inte bara jag då alltså. Lite tråkigt när man köper ett par byxor för 2000kr med så kort hållbarhet. Blir nog säkert något mer par med polycotton någon gång i framtiden men jag föredrar helt klart olika former av syntet/softshell numera. Tycker egentligen att det är lite märkligt att inte Fjällräven börjat göra den typen av byxor också.

      @@emil1981111 How about fire? Is it possible that Fjällräven's polycotton is better than the usual artificial materials when sitting around the fire? I.e., not getting holes easily burned into them from sparks from the fire?

    • @emil1981111
      @emil1981111 Месяц назад

      @@justinsenryu7308 maybe. But my experience is that it's more a question of the materials thickness. Thin clothes tend to get burn holes very easy.
      If making fires are a if part of your outdoor life then it's probably smart to dress accordingly.
