Elaine Thompson-Herah is the world record holder for the womens 100m. Flo Jo's 10.49 is disputable owing to an investigation done by world athletics that found at the USA olympics trials in 1988. This is when is lost hope and gave up. There is no doubt she is a good runner, but she needs to work on her start.
No, Sha-Carri had a good start, watch again. Sha- Carri was the meat between the two slices of bread and got eaten last because she became a nervous wreck and freak out but hiding it behind her getto speach
Flo Jo had the most efficient mechanics of any female sprinter in history. It is interesting to see that as Elaine Thompson lowers her times, she is also showing remarkable economy of movement, much like Flo Jo.
I feel so pity on Talu ...I hv been seeing her in almost every 100 sprint and ends up in disappointment ....but her determination , consistent and hard work deserves so much appreciation...... wonder how old is she by now 🤔
That 10.54 should clearly be the World Record. Flo Jo's 10.49 was obviously wind aided, heavily wind aided. With a 2.0 wind, Elaine would've ran sub 10.49 today.
Elaine is a BEAST!! But in sports we don't play the would've should've could've foolishness. Flo's time is her time. Big ups to Elaine for being the best of now.
I witnessed Flo Jo's race in person and was there for the entire trials - still a highlight of my life! The wind was all over the place - at some times during the day it was really windy, other times not so much. This shows in the variance from round to round in all events - both men and women. The wind for Flo Jo's record was much calmer than in the earlier rounds. Carl Lewis ran a 9.78 that same day and it was wind-aided at over 5m/s. Other mens rounds were legal. That's why we measure the wind. Flo Jo's 100 and 200 were special that day - she beat the field by huge margins. There is no reason to doubt the wind meter or the clock.
Ok, I was talking mad trash about all of those people that said we would see a 10.5, and that we'd see a 10.71-ish, but you don't need to tell me to shut up. Elaine is the greatest female short sprinter in the 21st century, don't even argue.

She reminds me of Michael Johnson in the 400, how he was knocking on the door of the World Record so often for so many years before he finally broke it, The feeling in the air was that its just a matter of time before he gets it. This Jamaican girl is knocking on the door of FloJo's record now,, n shes doing it consistently, seems like its only a matter of time.
right?!??! She got a 10.61 at the olympics, now 10.54 today... she just keeps inching closer to flo-jo! really is only a matter of time!! :))
@@afrida842 Yes but I think every hundredth will be brutal from here. She can do it but it has to be a perfect run maybe with a slightly stronger tailwind.

Sha'Carri got smoked to the ground on all counts! It would have been more embarrassing if she would have finished last in the Tokyo Olympics. Congrats to Thompson-Herah, SAFP, Shericka for their repeat winning performances. Special congrats to Teahna Daniels who is truly the best U.S women's 100 sprinter and not S.R!
This is a big oof for Sha’Carri. We all know that she can run much faster than that but she melted under the pressure. Always stay humble, y’all
As we Jamaicans say" pressure buss pipe"
Yup, just goes to prove athletes shouldn't just focus on physical training but also on the mental aspects that can totally break you before you've even set foot on the track.
@@beverleyreid8258 that's right 😩😂😂
Even in her beat Elaine would have still won. Stop making excuses.
@@kitty1977 They never said that shacarri would beat elaine. they only said that shacarri didnt put on her best performance today. I NEVER thought someone could Break the UNBREAKABLE 10.49 record but then Elaine came along…

Good to see that a lot of people in the comments understand Flo-Jo’s 10.49s was a fake time due to a faulty wind gauge. 10.61s was her best time. Elaine just beat that. Congratulations to her !

I'm Jamaican and I agree with this. Give the attention to women that are actually winning! I know the 100m is the most anticipated event but what has Sha'Carri proven?? Absolutely nothing!

I really respect you for making this video about Elaine and the incredible performance she put down and not Sha’Carri
This made my Day! Thank you Jamaica!!!
About Shacarri Richardson; her winnings at the US Olympic qualifiers were based on a very poor start and then top end speed, but what happened here is; she had a slow start as usual, then realized that she's not going to catch up with the Jamaicans.

She's a speed demon❤❤🔥🔥. When she hit that top end speed, you can't catch her. Congrats Elaine 👏🏾👏🏾. Congrats Jamaica
That 10.54 should clearly be the World Record. Flo Jo's 10.49 was obviously wind aided, heavily wind aided. With a 2.0 wind, Elaine would've ran sub 10.49 today.
In hindsight sure, but that's a dangerous precedent, to start reviewing all races and deciding which to change.
Flo jo’s record will be there for another 20 years
Elaine is a BEAST!!
@@bmcconnon thank for explaining for these kids who just copy others what they say. They are just ignorant.
