It's because she wasn't expected to take the win. If you follow pro international track and field, you'd know that she's a very talented athlete, but so far in her career has not been dominant. Hats off to her for hanging in there, working, and improving, but she's not ever really considered a massive threat.

My congratulations to all the eight women in this 200m race, especially kambouji who won the race.l dove my heart for Allyson Felix with her broad smiles. She had contributed enormously to world athletics championships and her memories will remain evergreen in our hearts. She won the highest number of medals in Olympics history and has been the most decorated and respected athlete in the track and field. Kudos to you Allyson. Please hand over the baton to Athin Mu and Gabby Thomas in the spirit of continuity.

This is the Diamond League, which is the elite league for track & field which means with Felix status they pay her just to show up and had she placed in the top 3 then she would have got mega coins. Congrats to Kambundji. No one was expecting Felix to win or place high, so, therefore, no upset. I believe they asked her to run the 200 because they weren't doing a 400 and this could be her swan song to perform at the venue, as we don't know if Queen Felix is going to return to run next season.
