This music is so deep, so enchanting and magic that I when I close my eyes and listen to it my soul and spirit wanders beneath the mellyn of Lothlorien.
Blatantly untrue. This piece, and all orchestral & choral pieces of LOTR music were composed by Howard Shore, with the lyrics written by Philippa Boyens @@heyjustrelax3284
This is the nexus of all my fantasy fiction inspiration as a child. The Lorien elves were so mysterious and dangerous, but giving the party respite from the orcs was so welcomed at that point in the movie/books. Howard Shore is brilliant.
howard shore has created a masterpiece that the professor would be happy with there is no doubt. Surely he could not have imagined the enormous success his work would have.
Everywhere I look, people are saying the lyrics are different. But I've watched this video since it came out, and I've heard these lyrics in the song. The other lyrics don't make sense.... They don't even sound like that's what is being sung. The entirety of the LotR soundtrack is truly a masterpiece. The movies themselves are masterpiece too. Tolkien was a genius is creating Middle Earth... The fact that he built whole worlds and wrote languages for the different races, and even wrote variations on those languages, is just incredible.
3:21 that's the saddest thing I've heard or read in all of Tolkien. He didn't die and his spirit went to Valinor, I think. He died and left the entire world and none other than Eru Iluvatar sent him back to life. I love Theoden, but I love Gandalf a little more. Watching Gandalf let go and chase Balrog and fight him to the death was epic.
......@2:42 Elizabeth Fraser (Cocteau Twins) on vocals, she also featured as vocalist on The Two Towers, and is the only person throughout the film trilogy to feature on two different Lord Of The Rings soundtracks.....
Morgoth, Sauron, Charcaroth, Ungoliant, Shelob, Witch king of Angmar and Saruman disliked this. Forgive me, If I got some of the names wrong for I have never read Silmarillon.
Indeed, and if they are ever used, they have a chance of surviving. I mean, I've heard it said that Esperanto failed to survive as a language because it had no mythology. Their was no point of reference in the Esperanto culture.
I would definitely learn one of the elven languages lol I know that's nerdy but they sound and look beautiful. I think there would be a chance of them surviving among LOTR hardcore fans.
This is an absolute masterpiece and a timeless treasure to be cherished for all eternity, embodying the breathtaking and profound atmosphere of an ancient age filled with imagination, wonder and endless possibility. *Alas for the fact that the failed "prequel" series by Amazon, with its horrible acting portrayals of elves, and very poorly constructed plot development, is neither.* o_O

I never knew their song spoke of Nenya. It is natural that elves are singing of a gift that is preserving the beauty and power of their land.
You have no idea how long I've been looking for this. A job well done!!!
Whoever composed this song & came up with the lyrics is a musical genius
AR Rahman is the composer... Oscar guy😍
The Elves are singing it to him, and let light ever fall on them anew.
Thank you! I enjoyed my Tolkien reading with your awesome translation work.
Pure poetry. Outstanding composition, exactly how the Valar would have sung.
WOW! Thanks for posting this wonderful video.
In my world, Lothlorien is a real and magic place. I dream of the day I will finally go back there!
this voice and music everything are so beautiful
Beautiful and sorrowful
Our love for this land!
now I want to play skyrim and watch the Lotr trilogy.
howard shore has created a masterpiece that the professor would be happy with there is no doubt. Surely he could not have imagined the enormous success his work would have.
It feels like Tolkien created his own religion so brilliant
Everywhere I look, people are saying the lyrics are different. But I've watched this video since it came out, and I've heard these lyrics in the song. The other lyrics don't make sense.... They don't even sound like that's what is being sung.
The entirety of the LotR soundtrack is truly a masterpiece. The movies themselves are masterpiece too. Tolkien was a genius is creating Middle Earth... The fact that he built whole worlds and wrote languages for the different races, and even wrote variations on those languages, is just incredible.
LADY GALADRIEL 😍 *2019* still in love.
It's super helpful to be able to see the English at the same time as hearing and seeing the Quenya/Sindarin
This video scratches an itch I had ignored for decades
Damn. Shit is deep! Had no idea they were saying anything intelligible. Thanks a ton.
Lol
Ok then... what did you think they were saying... random shit?
He's an Orc, I swear.
Today it is a lament for Cristopher Tolkien...
......@2:42 Elizabeth Fraser (Cocteau Twins) on vocals, she also featured as vocalist on The Two Towers, and is the only person throughout the film trilogy to feature on two different Lord Of The Rings soundtracks.....
Many thanks for mentioning her ❤
Que maravilla...
Absolutely stunning! Haunting and beautiful, thanks for giving us this wonderful video!
Morgoth, Sauron, Charcaroth, Ungoliant, Shelob, Witch king of Angmar and Saruman disliked this. Forgive me, If I got some of the names wrong for I have never read Silmarillon.
Could have been some dwarves.
It is now more than 80 dislikes.
I dare you Lyra Graybakk! Ha-ha!
Thus giveth me those names!
I think this just became my favourite song. So powerful and haunting, ugh.
I´m very glad to listen tihis. Music is our essence!
LOVE the elvish and translation! Beautifully done.
I'm a bit impressed by the amount of culture and history in this fantasy epic. I'm surprised their hasn't been a religion developed out of it yet.lol
I was thinking the same. Not to mention the languages and dialects he created.
Give it four generations and then you'll have a new people group livin in the sticks claiming to be the descendants of elves.lol
Haha and that Tolkien's books are actually history books talking about their ancestors
Very interesting how Howard shores simple harmonic structure highlights the one or two intervals he uses per chord.
This is an absolute masterpiece and a timeless treasure to be cherished for all eternity, embodying the breathtaking and profound atmosphere of an ancient age filled with imagination, wonder and endless possibility. *Alas for the fact that the failed "prequel" series by Amazon, with its horrible acting portrayals of elves, and very poorly constructed plot development, is neither.* o_O
this music n lyrics r so enchanting!
This movie is a masterpiece
the world is changed. I feel it in the water, I feel it in the earth, i smell it in the air.
Galadriel
I smell your mom in the air
Lyrics of Lothlorien & Lament for Gandalf theme (Quenya):
Cenin i Herumor
I perceive the Dark Lord
Sámarya hanyenye
I comprehend his mind
Oio mahta-mahtala cenien sanwenya
Ever groping to see my thought
Ananta...
But still...
Pahta i ando!
The door is closed!
Ela i cále!
Behold the light!
Nenya sina corma úhátima
Nenya is this Ring, unbreakable
I haryanye
That I possess
A Olórin i yáresse
O Olórin whom in time past
Mentaner i Númeherui tírien i Rómenóri
The West-lords sent to guard the East-lands
Maiaron i Oiosaila
Of Maiar, the Ever-wise
Manan elye etevanne nórie i melanelye?
Why did you depart from a country which you loved?
Mithrandir, Mithrandir, A Randir Vithren
Mithrandir, Mithrandir, O Pilgrim Grey
Ú-reniathach i amar galen
You will not wander the green earth
I reniad lín ne môr nuithannen
Your journey in darkness, ended
In gwidh ristennin i fae narchannen
The bonds cut, the spirit rent
I lach Anor ed ardhon gwannen
The Flame of Anor from earth departed
Calad veleg ethuinannen
A great light, blown out
Melmelma nóren sina
Our love for this land
Núra lá earo núri
Is deeper than the deeps of the sea
Ilfirin nairelma
Our regret is undying
Ananta ilyar eccatuvalme
Yet we will cast all away
Ar ullume nucuvalme
Rather than submit
Nauva i nauva
What should be shall be
Goosebumps can't stop!
For some reason this song is always sad for me, but also relaxing
Thank you so much for translating these! :D
The incredible beauty of this. I remember when I first read LOTR, I was absolutely appaled by the death of Gandalf🥺
"The flame of Anor has
Left this world"
Now i do finally know the translation of the lament for gandalf! i am so happy i finally know after all these years what it meant and it's so beautifull :D
Hermoso tema... y a la vez emocionante leer lo que señala el cántico...
So how epic will this song be ?
H. Shore: Yes
I have just watched the news. I need some Tolkien, and this video was perfect. Ah, Lothlorien! I need the peace found there. Howard Shore, thank you!
I have come here, once more. Not for J.R.R. Tolkien this time, but to remember his 3rd son Christopher Tolkien.
I learned just now that on the 17th of January 2020, the editorial heir of J.R.R. Tolkien, has passed away.
Sincerely I say, may he rest in peace in Heaven.
May he found his way to Valinor.
Gives me goose bumps...
“The Lord of the Rings is of course a fundamentally religious and Catholic work,” J.R.R. Tolkien
