    The Nightsky was better than I anticipated, and I expected it to be beautiful.

    I could listen to the nightsky and one synth making ambient textures all night.

    Nice overview Liam. One thing you that I like is the use of the sequencer and high pass filter being manually swept. I think the description 'cool sibling that does drugs and got into synths' compared to the Big Sky is very appropriate. It's release puzzled a lot of guitarists but it found it's place with experimenters and other instruments. Keep up the great videos

    I thank you for this video. As soon as I got the Microcosm I kind of get lost in that and don’t give this as much love as I should.

    Nice demo. When I heard NightSky I was instantly impressed. It is a definitely a cool FX unit to add to a Synth for experimentation. Using it in a track musically can definitely be done, but not easily unless its an ambient PAD. I am a fan just not at the top of my list for the studio yet. Picked up my first pedal - specular tempus. Still experimenting, but initial results are positive. Thanks again for the demo.

    great video. I love this reverb. Have you tried hooking up a midi controller to it and tweaking the parameters? For example, you could have a sequencer send a MIDI CCs as an LFO.

      I haven't done this yet but I do have a PC-12 which would work great for this.

    Great video!
    Can the sequencer be synced to an external midi clock like your daw or a hardware sequencer sending midi clock?
    Thanks for your review.

      Yes it can ! I don't know the ins and outs of how to approach it according to your set up - but yes, it can.

    this or the bigsky for digitone? im mostly an ambient/atmospheric kinda guy

    • @LiamKillen
      @LiamKillen  Год назад +1

      Hmm good question. Personally I’d def go with this

    • @deliciousaudio
      @deliciousaudio Год назад +4

      The Bigsky is just a reverb that does all sorts of reverb effects, this one is an ambient reverb with a lot of extra effects for textural soundscapes.

  • @GirlfightClub

    Seems a little like Bliss Generation Loss . Are they comparable?

    • @LiamKillen
      @LiamKillen  Год назад +2

      I haven’t tried that one actually but it’s def possible! I think this one’s kind of comparable to the microcosm

    • @deliciousaudio
      @deliciousaudio Год назад +3

      The Gen Loss is a super-tweakable lo-fi effect, it has no reverb in it, this is more like an ambient reverb with a bunch of extra effects like filters, pitch shifter, modulation and distortion. I can't think of anything comparable to the Nightsky, although maybe the pedals by Hologram Electronics get close.

    • @GirlfightClub
      @GirlfightClub Год назад

      @@deliciousaudio thank you! So, I have a microcosm, this would be redundant then?

    • @deliciousaudio
      @deliciousaudio Год назад +3

      @@GirlfightClub Not necessarily, the Microcosm is a delay/glitch pedal with granular synthesis, this is a reverb with subtractive synthesis (i.e. filters) and also additive synthesis (pitch transopsing). The concept is similar (mixing an ambient effect with a bunch of synth-like effects), but they are very different circuits.

    • @deliciousaudio
      @deliciousaudio Год назад +3

      Although now that I checked, the Microcosm also has a reverb and a filter, and both pedals have modulation. However, they still both do a bunch of things the other does not.
